"Weren't you just found by the Xia family? How did you become a member of the Chi family?" Li Shaoyuan asked, frowning.
Xia Yuhuan: "I'm engaged to Chi Yanzhou and I'm about to marry him. If you dare to touch me, the Chi family will not let you off the hook."
"Chi Yanzhou is unconscious and practically a cripple. How could he possibly get married? Holy crap, did your dad bring him back specifically to bring him good luck?"
"What's your name? If you're so capable, repeat what you just said, and I promise I'll tell the Chi family every single word." Xia Yuhuan said, enunciating each word clearly.
Upon hearing this, the group's expressions changed, and they immediately grabbed the ringleader and turned to leave.
"Chi Yanzhou is in trouble, but the Chi family is still around. Are you crazy to provoke them?"
The Chi family's reputation was great enough for Xia Yuhuan to use their influence to her advantage.
Xia Yuhuan breathed a sigh of relief when she saw them leave.
She turned to Qin Xiangrong and asked, "Brother Qin, are you alright? Are you hurt?"
She pulled Qin Xiangrong around, looking him up and down with worry in her eyes.
Qin Xiangrong's face lit up with joy at first, but then he snorted unhappily, "Didn't you become successful and refuse to see me? Why are you here standing up for me now?"
Seeing two people staring at them from a distance, Xia Yuhuan said, "Brother Qin, let's find another place to talk. I'll explain things to you properly."
Xia Yuhuan led Qin Xiangrong to a secluded spot and they stood there.
"Brother Qin, what brings you here? Did Xia Jianyong give you any trouble?" Xia Yuhuan asked him.
Qin Xiangrong was still furious, but he wasn't stupid. Xia Yuhuan's actions in protecting him made him realize that Xia Yuhuan was still the same person she always was, unchanged.
He then said, "Grandpa Xia was worried about you, so he sent me to check on you. But before I could even see him, your father kicked me out."
"How are you? Are you happy at the Xia family? Grandpa Xia said that if you're not happy here, you can come back with me. He can afford to take care of you."
Xia Yuhuan was somewhat dazed upon hearing this.
She was an orphan in modern times, but was unexpectedly adopted by her grandfather, a medical luminary. She also happened to be talented and made full use of the resources her grandfather had, which enabled her to achieve her later success at a young age.
