Chapter 102 Living in the Cowshed (1/2)

Captain Liu also thought so, but Fengqin was not from Qinghe Village after all. Her parents' home was Guizi Village, and her husband's home was Xiaoxi Village. It was not his turn as the captain of Qinghe Village to take care of everything.

But the person is right in front of us, and his miserable appearance shows that he has no way out. Don't count on the people in Xiaoxi Village. If they could control it, would they still make things like this?

Guizi Village could be arranged, but it would take some time. He had to first talk to the captain of Guizi Village to see his attitude. If he was willing to help, he would report the matter together with the captain of Guizi Village. Based on his experience, if nothing else, at least he could find a place for the three of them to stay in Guizi Village. Then he could give them some private plots and move their household registration back to Guizi Village. Then they could earn work points to support themselves and their children. With two brothers to help them, they would definitely be able to make a living.

But this takes time, what should we do now?

Captain Liu is a kind-hearted person and he really can't do such a cruel thing as not caring about something that has nothing to do with him, not to mention that the three people in front of him are relatives of martyrs.

Song Yun seemed to have thought of something. She walked over to Captain Liu and whispered, "How about you arrange for them to stay in the cowshed for a few days, and then send them back after Guizi Village has issued regulations? Otherwise, they'll have nowhere to stay if they go back to Guizi Village now, which is really pitiful."

Captain Liu thought that there was indeed an empty shed over at the cowshed, with a bed and quilts inside. It was a little dirty and messy, but it was habitable.

Captain Liu nodded, walked up to Fengqin, and asked, "What are your plans now? Are you going back to Xiaoxi Village or to Guizi Village with your two brothers?"

Fengqin shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks. What plans did she have? What plans could she have? If she went back to Guizi Village, her sister-in-law would want a divorce, and if she went back to Xiaoxi Village, she would be committing suicide.

The two older brothers were also extremely anxious.

Captain Liu sighed and said to the two brothers, "Well, for the next two days, let them stay in the cowshed in Qinghe Village. There's an empty shed there with a bed and bedding, so it's perfect for them. When you return to the village, discuss this with the brigade. It would be best if they could transfer Fengqin's household registration back to Guizi Village. I'll also report this to the commune, and we'll see what to do next. We can't force people to death; we have to give them a chance to survive!"

Fengqin's silent crying suddenly became audible, and she lost control of her emotions for a moment.

Seeing her like this, everyone felt sad and came forward to give her some advice.

Fortunately, Fengqin was a mother, so she quickly recovered from her emotional outburst. She wiped away her tears and bowed deeply to Captain Liu, "Thank you, thank you!"

Captain Liu waved his hand and said, "Don't thank me. You should thank Song Zhiqing. She saved your life and she fought for all this for you."

Fengqin was about to bow to Song Yun again, but was stopped by Song Yun. "Don't thank me all the time. It's getting late. Take the kids and Uncle Liu to the cowshed." After saying that, she looked at the small basket in the eldest brother's hand. It contained some vegetables and a pound or two of brown rice, which should be used to pay for medical expenses.

"Don't give me these things. Give them to Comrade Fengqin and take them to the cowshed." After saying this, he remembered that Fengqin couldn't eat brown rice. "Wait a moment."

She turned and ran back to the backyard. Using a ceramic bowl, she scooped two large bowls of rice from the kitchen vat, weighing at least two or three pounds. She poured it into a small cloth bag and grabbed a steamed bun. After leaving the kitchen, she returned and grabbed two handfuls of sour dates and put them into the rice bag. Then she returned to the front yard and stuffed everything into Fengqin's hands. "Take these and eat them. Remember what I said, take good care of yourself. Otherwise, if you fail, the two children will be left without anyone to rely on."

Fengqin looked at the food that she had never eaten at her husband's house. She wanted to kneel down, but was afraid of causing trouble for Song Zhiqing, so she could only lower her head and keep saying thank you.
