Chapter 138: Commander Jiang’s Daughter (1/2)

The jeep stopped at the gate of the military district's family compound. Commander Xu got out of the car and told the soldiers guarding the gate to send one person to take Song Yun to the bathroom to find the old man.

As for Qi Mo'nan's single dormitory, she could ask the old man to lead her there, and he didn't make any other arrangements.

In the bathroom, the old man had been busy most of the night and was now dozing off in the bathroom, waiting for another doctor to come and take over his shift.

In fact, it was already past the shift change time, but the doctor on duty had not shown up yet. The old man had long been accustomed to it, because she was the brigade commander's daughter.

Song Yun walked into the bathroom and saw the old man sleeping on the table with only a single piece of clothing covering him. She hurried to the table and knocked on it.

The old man was woken up, squinting his eyes and looking up. Before he could see who was coming, he muttered, "Even if you are the daughter of the brigade commander, there should be a limit to how late you can be, right? What time is it? You want to sleep and rest, but don't I, an old man, need to rest too?"

"It's me." Song Yun said.

The old man rubbed his hazy eyes, and then he saw clearly that it was Song Yun standing in front of the table. His eyes brightened up, "Comrade Xiao Song, it's you! Why are you here? Come and sit down."

Song Yun looked around the bathroom. It was a decent setting, with two desks and two medicine cabinets. The larger one held Western medicine, though only a small portion was used. After all, there weren't many Western medicines available in the bathroom, mostly things like cotton wool bandages for treating injuries. The smaller one was crammed to the brim. Just by looking at the names written on the small drawers, she knew it contained only Chinese medicinal herbs and some ointments and pills, likely made by the old man himself.

"I heard from Qi Mo Nan that you have medicinal herbs here. I just need some. Can you see if you can prepare them for me?" He said as he took out the prescription he had written.

The old man took the prescription and knew at a glance that it was used to make a plaster. Some of the herbs used in it were similar to his plaster prescriptions, and there were also a few herbs that he had not added. However, the main part could still be seen as a plaster prescription.

"Are you going to make some ointment?" asked the old man.

Song Yun nodded. "Well, I'll make some ointment for Qi Mo Nan. I'll trouble you to take me to his dormitory later, and I'll go there to make the ointment."

The old man said, "He certainly doesn't have the pot and stove to make ointments. Come to my place. I have everything."

Of course Song Yun is willing. It doesn’t matter where she works. The most important thing is convenience.

The two of them agreed, and the old man handed the prescription back to Song Yun, saying, "I have all the medicines required in the prescription, so there's no need to get them here, otherwise someone might see us and say something behind your back."

Song Yun thought of what the old man had just muttered, and asked, "It's already nine o'clock, and your replacement hasn't arrived yet?"

The old man rolled his eyes. "That's right. She wishes I could just sit here and wait 24 hours a day, all by myself, while she lies at home collecting her salary. She relies on her father being a brigade commander, and she's so arrogant that she doesn't care about anyone."

Just as the old man finished complaining, a slim figure appeared at the door. The girl was in her early teens, with a pretty face. She was wearing a fashionable plaid coat, with her hair half tied up in a beautiful knot with a pearl-embedded headband. She looked very fashionable and beautiful.

But the girl's expression was not so good. She walked into the bathroom with her chin raised and squinted at the old man. "What did you just say? Say it again if you have a book."
