The braised pork was just ready and Qi Mo Nan arrived on time.
The old man glared at him and said, "You are smelling something, you have a dog's nose, right?"
Qi Monan smiled, "I could smell it from far away, and I knew it was Song Yun's cooking as soon as I smelled it." The aroma was exactly the same as the braised pork he had eaten in Qinghe Village, but the meat he ate back then was wild boar, so the taste must be different, and he was particularly looking forward to it.
Song Yun handed the empty bucket to Qi Mo Nan, "Bring a bucket of water."
Qi Mo Nan took the bucket and left.
The two of them passed it to each other one by one, and their movements were so natural and smooth that it made the old man's teeth ache.
Song Yun also fried some pickled cabbage and an egg drop soup. For the three of them, there was one meat dish, one vegetable dish and one soup, which was quite a feast.
Before the braised pork was served, Song Yun packed some out in a lunch box and said, "Bring it to Mr. Wu and Xiao Meng tomorrow to try."
The old man smiled and said, "You're really thoughtful. The food in the hospital is not very tasty. I think Mr. Wu has already been tired of it."
The three of them sat down to eat, and after a few bites they heard someone knocking on the door of the courtyard next door.
The old man pricked up his ears and listened, hoping that the door that was being knocked on was not his.
Qi Mo Nan immediately broke his fantasy, "This is your door, isn't it?"
The old man was reluctant to put down his chopsticks. The braised pork was so delicious, even better than the braised pork cooked by the chef in a state-owned restaurant.
Song Yun stood up and said, "Let me take a look."
Qi Mo Nan also stood up and said, "I'll stand up with you."
As soon as the two of them walked out of the main hall, they heard a woman's voice calling out from the gate of the next courtyard, "Qi Mo Nan, I know you are in there, come out, I have something to tell you."
Song Yun stopped and looked sideways at Qi Mo Nan, smiling, "I'm looking for you."
Qi Mo Nan frowned, turned around and went back to the house to continue eating, "Don't worry about it."
The old man also heard the shouting, and now he was not in a hurry at all. He slowly picked up a flower and put it into his mouth, saying with a fake smile: "You are quite good, kid. The woman came to my house to look for you. What's going on?"
Qi Mo Nan was speechless. "How would I know? I'm not familiar with her, and Tong Xu hasn't spoken to her much. Who knows what's wrong with her?"
The old man said, "I have to remind you that Jiang Xin is not a good-tempered person. Although his family background is good, it doesn't mean he can live a good life. You'd better think carefully before you act."
Qi Mo Nan glanced at Song Yun and saw that she was eating as usual, not even looking at him. He sighed inwardly, but still explained: "Her temper is good or bad, and her family background is nothing to do with me."
Having said that, the old man said no more and turned to other topics. It took the three of them ten minutes to finish their dinner leisurely.
The old man stood up and said, "Let's go. We're done with our meal. It's time to take care of your business." Just in the past ten hours since they had their meal, Jiang Xin had been knocking on the door next door, asking to see Qi Mo Nan. Qi Mo Nan looked like a heartless man. He couldn't even imagine how many people were waiting outside his gate.
Qi Mo Nan looked at Song Yun.
Song Yun waved her hand directly, "Don't look at me, solve it yourself, I won't get involved in this matter."
The old man dragged Qi Mo Nan out and said, "What good things are you thinking about, kid? You've got to pick on the peach blossoms yourself."
Qi Mo Nan felt aggrieved. He didn't want Song Yun to help him pick peach blossoms. He just wanted to hear her advice. Hadn't she given him advice when he encountered such a thing before?
