Chapter 201: Skipping a Grade (1/2)

Song Yun was not interested in the affairs of Song Zhenzhen and Ding Jianye, and did not have enough energy to care about those unimportant people and things.

After resting at home for a night, she did not rush to report to the team. She went to the military primary school with Ziyi, found the first-grade teacher, Teacher Hu, and expressed to her her intention to let Song Ziyi take the skipping grade exam.

However, Teacher Hu was reluctant and tried her best to persuade Song Yun to give up letting Ziyi skip a grade, saying that skipping a grade would not be good for the child. However, she could not give any specific reasons and simply did not want to let him go.

Song Yun didn't say much. She turned around and found Principal Lin and told him the situation.

Principal Lin was very straightforward and agreed to arrange a skipping test for Ziyi immediately. He also took the opportunity to explain things to Teacher Hu.

"Teacher Hu just had a baby, and the child is only a few days old. She's so busy at home and at school every day. But when Song Ziyi joined Class 1 and she was too busy to come to school, Song Ziyi was able to help her manage class discipline, even teaching and grading homework. The class's grades have improved during this period, and she feels a lot more relaxed. That's why she doesn't want Song Ziyi to skip a grade."

After listening to Jian, Song Yun was speechless.

So my brother came to school just to relieve you of the burden, right?

Seeing that Song Yun looked unhappy, Principal Lin quickly added, "Teacher Hu is the deputy head of the Second Regiment. She has three children at home and has to take care of them. It's normal for her to be busy. We should all be considerate of each other."

Song Yun disagreed. "Principal Lin, I believe education is a very serious and sacred matter. It concerns the future of every child. As a teacher, you should put teaching first, dedicate yourself to teaching children, and lay a solid foundation for their future. If a teacher can't even manage a regular class schedule, I think the school should evaluate whether they are still qualified to continue teaching and consider switching to a more relaxed and flexible position that allows them to balance family and childcare. This would be a responsibility not only to the students, but also to the teachers themselves."

Principal Lin thought it made sense. It's not that he hadn't thought about it before, but the other party was the wife of the regiment commander after all, and this was a military primary school. As the principal, he was not so confident when facing the families of these senior officers.

The door slammed open, and Teacher Hu stormed in, clutching a stack of materials. Her eyes practically blazed. "My teacher, Old Ke, used to praise you in front of me as a comrade with high ideological awareness. I never thought you'd turn out to be a backstabbing villain." He slammed the materials on the table. "I'd like to see who can pull me off my position as homeroom teacher."

Principal Lin's forehead was covered with sweat, and he hurriedly explained, "Teacher Hu, you misunderstood. Comrade Song didn't mean that. She—"

Hu Li snorted coldly, interrupting Principal Lin. "If that's not what you meant, what else could it be? I heard it clearly. You won't let anyone explain it. You say I'm not qualified? You really think you're a piece of cake. What a joke."

Hu Li glared at Song Yun angrily, then turned and left.

Song Yun's expression didn't change at all from beginning to end. She just said what she felt she should say, and she had no regrets.

A teacher who didn't even have time to teach, a teacher who left the entire class to an eight-year-old child to teach, she didn't think this teacher was qualified to continue teaching. At least not until she had sorted out her family affairs.

"Principal Lin, please arrange an exam for Ziyi." Song Yun said.

Principal Lin sighed and said nothing more. He asked about Song Ziyi's situation and learned that Song Ziyi had been self-studying the Level 4 course. He asked someone to call the Level 4 teacher over, and he took out a Level 3 math test paper for Song Ziyi to try.

Song Ziyi spent ten minutes on the Grade 3 math test. When Teacher Zhuang rushed to the office after class, Principal Lin had already finished grading the test. All the answers were correct and he got full marks.

Teacher Zhuang looked at the test paper written by Song Ziyi. His handwriting was neat, without any corrections or even a draft. It was obvious that he had written it in one go, proving that he had thoroughly learned the knowledge of the third level. Who wouldn't like such a student?

The necessary tests still need to be done.

Teacher Zhuang took out a Level 4 first semester midterm math test and gave it to Song Ziyi to do.
