Chapter 219 Your Brother Stole My Money (1/2)

When the tofu and fish are ready, the rice is stewed and the egg custard is steamed. The timing is just right, only half an hour in total.

"It's too late, just eat these first. I'll make braised pork for you tomorrow."

The old man ate the braised fish with tofu with great delight, forgetting the pain in his body for a moment. "I'll make this braised fish with tofu again tomorrow. It's so fresh. This fish is much better than the fish sold outside."

"Okay, let's eat this tomorrow. There's plenty of tofu and fish."

The three of them were eating when someone knocked on the gate.

Ziyi ran to open the door, and the two people in the room heard Ziyi's voice, "Brother Mo Nan, why are you here now? Come in quickly."

When the old man heard it was Qi Mo Nan, he raised his eyebrows and continued eating fish.

As Qi Mo Nan stepped into the main room, the aroma of food filled his nose.

"Have you just returned from Xiqin Mountain?" Qi Mo Nan asked.

Song Yun nodded. "Well, we had a good harvest today. I came back a little late. Have you had dinner?"

Qi Mo Nan shook his head, "I didn't eat it."

He originally wanted to come here for dinner and went to the cafeteria, but he was disappointed. In addition, he was worried and had no appetite. He ran back and forth several times and finally waited for them to come back.

Song Yun stood up to get the bowl, but Song Ziyi got there first, "I'll have my share, you eat, sister."

Song Ziyi ran quickly and got a bowl from the kitchen. He poured most of the rice in the small pot into Qi Mo Nan.

"That's all. If it's not enough, I'll cook you some noodles later." Ziyi said.

Qi Mo Nan took the bowl and said, "No, this is enough."

Fortunately, two fish were cooked, a large piece of tofu was added, and a large bowl of egg custard was steamed. It was a little less for four people, but it was okay. Qi Mo Nan and Gu Lao Tou ate up all the fish soup.

The old man was still not satisfied and glared at Qi Mo Nan. "You are a good timer. You came here while I was eating. Did you do it on purpose?"

Qi Mo Nan laughed and started to collect the dishes and wash them.

While washing dishes in the backyard, he noticed several sacks placed at the kitchen door. The sacks were open, and the herbs used to cover the food had been taken out. He could clearly see that the sacks were full of fish and meat. He was shocked. He quickly washed the pots and bowls and returned to the main room. He asked the two people who were sorting the herbs with a winnowing basket, "Did you encounter a wild boar yesterday?"

Neither of them looked up. Song Yun responded, "Yeah, I encountered them when I was going down the mountain. I killed two."

Ziyi came out of the room and took Qi Mo'nan's hand to tell him everything he had seen and heard in Xiqin Mountain. His little face was full of excitement.

When Qi Mo Nan heard Zi Yi say that the wild boar meat was delivered by the robbers, he frowned and asked, "Is it reliable?"

The old man snorted, "If they don't want to be shot, they'll have to keep this to themselves."

Qi Mo Nan thought about it and realized that it was indeed true. No friendship was as solid as interests.

The herbs were sorted quickly, and the water that Song Ziyi had boiled was hot. He came over and called Song Yunqian to wash up.

The old man glared at Qi Mo Nan, "What are you still standing there for? It's so late and you're not going home yet?"

The old man grabbed Qi Mo Nan and left the courtyard. Song Yun smiled and closed the gate.

Song Yun could feel that the old man treated her and Ziyi as his grandchildren and loved them. The old man's feelings were simple and sincere. Her heart was warm. It was great to have another member of the family.

At dawn, Song Yun and Song Ziyi got up early. They washed the fish and meat and put them to dry. Song Yun made breakfast and asked Ziyi to go to the supply and marketing department to buy salt. Now that the weather was getting warmer, they had to marinate all the fish and meat tomorrow. They also had to get more pine and cypress branches from the nearby hills.
