Chapter 267: Evil Stepmother (1/2)

Wu Qin was afraid that Qi Mo Nan would say something shocking to her, so she quickly grabbed Qi Guoqiang and said, "The child is in a bad mood today, so don't force him. Let's go back first and talk about it later."

Qi Guoqiang was embarrassed by the loss of face by Brigade Commander Qin, and he immediately gave in when Wu Qin pulled him over. "Okay, let's go back first." Then he turned to Qi Monan and said, "Come home when you have time. Don't forget, we are father and son, the closest relationship in the world."

Qi Mo Nan acted as if he didn't hear anything and didn't even glance at Qi Guoqiang.

Wu Qin pulled Qi Guoqiang away, and Wu Yuanyuan followed behind them, looking back every few steps.

After everyone had left, Brigadier General Qin asked Qi Monan, "What did you mean by that? Did you really find out? Was it your stepmother who did it?"

Qi Mo Nan nodded, "It's definitely related to her, but there's no evidence."

Brigadier General Qin frowned. "How could there be any evidence left for you to investigate? It's already a great honor that you've found this."

Mother Qin slammed the table in anger. "I thought Wu Qin was just a coward, but I didn't expect her to be so bold. She dared to do such a thing, and she wasn't afraid of being struck by lightning."

Qi Mo Nan curled his lips and smiled coldly, "She has never been a coward." He can no longer remember some of his childhood memories, but there is one thing he always remembers clearly.

When Wu Qin first married Qi Guoqiang, she pretended to be a good stepmother for a few days but couldn't continue. She took him to the train station and left him in a deserted corner, then turned around and left without hesitation.

At that time, children were lost at the train station every day. She thought that if she left the 18-year-old boy at the train station, he would never be able to return. He would definitely be taken away by people with bad intentions and would never be able to return to Beijing.

Unfortunately, she was wrong. Although he was only ten years old, he was much smarter than other children of the same age. At the station, he hugged the legs of an uncle in military uniform and cried and told him the military region where his grandfather was and his grandfather's name. The uncle happened to be going to the military region and took him there.

When Grandpa learned about Wu Qin's behavior, he was furious and beat Qi Guoqiang. However, Qi Guoqiang did not believe his own son's words. He believed his newly married wife's words and blamed Qi Mo Nan for being naughty at such a young age and telling lies to sow discord.

Grandpa saw through Qi Guoqiang and Wu Qin, and knew that something would happen to him sooner or later, so he took him in to take care of him.

Qi Guoqiang ruined the mood of the meal and the three of them lost their appetite. They didn't stay for too long and left the family compound after finishing their meal in a hurry.

On the way back to the guesthouse, He Hongjun saw that Qi Mo Nan was in a bad mood, so he told a lot of jokes, trying to cheer Qi Mo Nan up.

Qi Mo Nan cooperated and smiled, but anyone with eyes could see that he was not happy, and the gloom in his eyes had not yet dissipated.

He Hongjun surrendered and looked at Song Yun with eyes that looked for help.

Song Yun was not good at making people laugh, and after racking her brains, she finally came up with a joke.

"A turtle was injured, so it asked its good brother, the snail, to buy medicine for it. However, it waited for a long time, and its blood was almost drained, but the snail still didn't come back. It couldn't help but yell, 'You damn snail, I'm going to die if you don't come back.' At this time, the snail's voice came from the door. Guess what the snail said?" Song Yun asked the two.

The two looked at her, shook their heads, and said in unison: "I don't know."

He Hongjun was very anxious: "What did the snail say? Tell me quickly!"

Song Yun smiled and said, "Snail is so angry that he's cursing, if you call me again, I won't go."

The two of them were stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, especially He Hongjun, who laughed so hard that he couldn't straighten his back. "No, no, this is too funny. I have to write it down and tell my wife when I get home."

Qi Mo Nan also laughed for a long time before stopping. The haze in his eyes had dissipated, and his eyebrows and eyes were smiling. "It's really funny. How did you come up with this?"

Song Yun felt that they had a low sense of humour. This was the case with a joke she had seen before. She thought it was a bit funny at the time, but later she didn't think so anymore.

"Just let your imagination run wild."
