Chapter 425 Exchange Meeting (1/2)

Taking cover from her suitcase, Song Yun took out a box of incense sticks from the storage compartment. She had bought these when she was in Hong Kong City. She thought the scent was particularly nice at the time, so she bought a few boxes. She never had a chance to use them, but she didn't expect them to come in handy now.

After lighting a stick of incense, the room soon smelled better. Professor Liu's frown gradually relaxed. She asked Song Yun, "What kind of incense is this?"

Song Yun looked at the words on the box. "It says kapok fragrance, but I don't know what fragrance is used."

Professor Liu was very interested in the incense. He walked over, picked up the box, and took a closer look. Only then did he realize it was from Hong Kong. "Did you buy it in Hong Kong?"

Song Yun nodded, "Yeah, I went on a mission to Hong Kong before, and I happened to smell this fragrance. I thought it smelled great, so I bought some."

Professor Liu was obviously a person who knew the value of things. "This is very expensive, most people can't afford it." She put the box down, her eyes showing nostalgia and reluctance. She could once afford this kind of fragrance.

Song Yun didn't talk much about this topic. She went to the bathroom to check. The bathroom was not in good condition, so she cleaned it again herself.

Fortunately, the sheets and quilt covers had been changed and were relatively clean. Otherwise, looking at Professor Liu's expression, he probably wouldn't want to sleep at night.

Dinner was a buffet at the hotel, which consisted of bread that American people like, half-cooked steak, boiled chicken breast, and some soups that looked unappetizing.

Song Yun ate bread and steak. The taste was actually okay, but it was too monotonous. It would be uncomfortable to eat the same thing every day.

During dinner, an old professor came over to say hello to Professor Liu. The two chatted for a while, all about the conference. Song Yun listened and found that the old professor was very polite and respectful to Professor Liu, and there was a hint of seeking advice in his words.

As expected, the person who could attend this gathering as the only woman could not be just an ordinary person.

This conference mainly focuses on research in automatic numerical control.

The target of Song Yun's secret mission this time is Cheng Tianyue, a genius in automatic CNC design.

Cheng Tianyue will also attend this exchange meeting. Song Yun needs to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with Cheng Tianyue, confirm his willingness to return to China, and formulate a plan for returning home.

Song Yun was just pondering this when Professor Liu and the old professor finished their conversation. Professor Liu touched Song Yun's arm and said, "Let's go."

The two left the restaurant and returned to their room. Although it was free time in the evening, in order to avoid unnecessary trouble, no one went out and everyone stayed in the hotel.

At eight o'clock the next morning, everyone gathered at the hotel entrance, but the bus arranged by the organizer was forty minutes late. By the time they arrived at the venue, the opening ceremony had already ended and all the visiting groups had dispersed throughout the huge exhibition hall.

Song Yun took two cups of coffee, handed one to Professor Liu, and held one in her own hand. She stood beside Professor Liu, her eyes wandering among the crowd.

The exhibition hall was bustling with people, and scientists and engineers from various countries were enthusiastically discussing the latest technological advances in front of the various CNC machine tool booths.

Song Yun was wearing a well-fitting grey suit today with the badge of the Chinese delegation pinned on her chest. Her outfit was smart and low-key. In order to be less noticeable, she had painted her fair skin a wheat-colored color as a disguise, making her look very ordinary at the moment, someone you would forget after just one glance.

Song Yun followed behind Professor Liu, her eyes sweeping across the unfamiliar faces in the exhibition hall. When her sight fell on a tall man, her wandering gaze finally stopped.

The man, wearing a dark blue shirt with his sleeves casually rolled up to his elbows, was talking to an American engineer with his head bent. His profile was sharply defined, and a hint of fatigue etched between his brows, but his eyes remained sharp.

Song Yun's eyes lit up slightly - it was him, Cheng Tianye.
