Chapter 53: The Real Desperate Place (1/2)

Aunt Wang was still holding onto Xiao Lin's hair. Her hands were sore, but she couldn't let go. This crazy woman was now completely possessed. Who knew if she let go, she would do something to hurt herself. It didn't matter if she hurt herself, but she was afraid that she would put the blame on Xiao Yun and Captain Qi. That would be really bad luck.

Aunt Wang grabbed Lin's hair with one hand and restrained Lin's hand that was trying to grab her face with the other. She looked at Lin with a fierce face and asked, "Lin, let me ask you, Lin said she has nowhere to live and is desperate. She has no way out and must live in Song Yun's house to survive. Tell me, is it because the Youth League cannot accommodate her and is oppressing her?"

Juanjuan was almost furious. "No, I just asked her and Zhao Xiaomei to eat separately from us. Nothing else happened. She had other ideas and asked to move out on her own. It has nothing to do with us. Her bed is still empty. No one has taken it."

The other two female educated youth also nodded in agreement, indicating that what Juan said was true.

Aunt Wang wasn't surprised by this answer. She continued, "She said she had no way out. Did someone bully her? No matter who it was, from the Youth Hostel or from our village, just tell me. I'll do this today. Anyone who bullies a youth and forces them to have no way out will be dealt with severely."

It’s true that Aunt Wang, the captain’s wife, is really doing a good job. She speaks with reason and evidence and has a strong presence.

Juanjuan quickly waved her hands, "No, no, our Youth Hostel has always been friendly and harmonious. We've never bullied anyone. If you don't believe me, ask Juanlin. Let her speak for herself."

There was no way Lin could say it, because it simply did not happen.

"When did I say someone bullied me? I never said that at all." Lin's hair was grabbed and her scalp hurt terribly. She cried and screamed but no one paid any attention to her. She felt very embarrassed.

Aunt Wang stared at Lin Lin coldly. "That means no one bullies you, you have food and shelter, and you don't have any terminal illness. So what do you mean when you say you have no way out? What does it mean to be desperate? I'm uneducated and don't understand the meaning of these words. You're an educated youth from the city, so explain it to me."

There was nothing Lin could explain; now she could only cry and act pitiful.

Aunt Wang's hands were very sore, but she didn't dare let go. She cursed in her heart why her husband hadn't come yet, even Captain Qi had come.

"What are you all doing here? Is there no work in the fields? Disperse!" Captain Liu's voice rang out from outside the circle, and someone immediately made way.

Captain Liu walked into the center of the crowd and saw his wife grabbing the educated youth's hair with a fierce look on her face. He felt a pang in his heart. What was going on? Why were there so many troubles every day?

Captain Liu quickly understood what had happened and immediately realized the seriousness of the matter. Lin was threatening Song Zhiqing and Battalion Commander Qi with his own life, which was no joke.

Captain Liu quickly came up with an idea and asked the villagers around him to find a rope.

When Lin heard about the rope, she yelled, "What are you doing? I haven't broken any law. You can't do this to me."

Captain Liu snorted coldly, "Since you say there's no future here, then don't stay. I also think there are too many people in this educated youth camp, and the atmosphere is a bit distorted. It's time to clean it up."

When Lin heard this, she was stunned and asked in a trembling voice, "You, what do you mean? What are you going to do?"

The villagers found a rope, and Captain Liu asked the two aunts to help tie up Lin to prevent her from doing anything extreme and framing others.

Only after Lin's hands and feet were tied did Captain Liu continue, "We in Qinghe Village can't afford someone like you. I'll send you to the public right now. As for your future whereabouts, I can't control you."

Lin was not a new educated youth who knew nothing. She knew what she would face after being expelled from the brigade. She would be sent to a farm. She heard that most of the people on the farm were prisoners and educated youth who had made mistakes. The people there had endless work to do every day, lacked food and drink, and people often died of exhaustion and illness there.

Captain Liu thought, "Didn't you say you had no way out? Do you want to harm others? Then I'll show you what it means to truly have no way out."

Lin wanted to beg for mercy, but Captain Liu would not listen at all. He believed that if such a person stayed in Qinghe Village, he would be like a bomb that could explode at any time, and he would not want him.
