Chapter 134 Liang Juying Feigns Illness

Xiao Maodou was very sad. He knew he was wrong because he had betrayed his third uncle.

His parents told him that his third uncle wanted to marry Sister Qi Mei, but his grandparents disagreed.

They said he was right, and that he should listen to his grandparents in order to get candy.

But Xiao Maodou didn't think he did the right thing. At such a young age, he already understood the feeling of guilt.

Chen Songbai was somewhat lost and had no interest in talking to Maodou. He walked straight into his house.

His mother got sick from his anger and is still resting in bed.

He wasn't in the mood to go in and face his mother, so he went straight back to his room.

Lying in bed with his right arm as a pillow, the sunlight shone on his face, almost bringing tears to his eyes.

He covered his eyes with his left hand, but his eyes still felt a little stinging.

Little Maodou peeked at his grandma through the crack in the door, then ran away.

He lingered outside Chen Songbai's room for a long time.

While struggling with his inner turmoil, he climbed onto the windowsill and saw his uncle lying on the bed, sleeping with his face covered.

Little Bean sighed and thought, "I'd better go out and play."

"Who is it?" Chen Songbai was not asleep and his ears were still sharp. He heard someone sighing at the window.

Little Maodou's eyes lit up, and he opened the window: "Third Uncle, it's me."

Although Chen Songbai resented the child somewhat, he was still his nephew and cared about him.

"What's wrong?"

Chen Songbai was lying by the window when Xiao Maodou climbed in through the window and came to his side.

He closed the window again.

"Third Uncle, I'll tell you a secret. Can you make up with me? Don't ignore me anymore."

He and his third uncle used to be the closest, but now his third uncle hardly talks to him anymore.

Little Maodou only knows that when good friends quarrel, they should make up.

Chen Songbai wanted to laugh, but he couldn't quite manage to move his lips, so he patted Xiao Maodou's head and said, "Okay, then tell me what secret it is?"

Just take it as childish talk.

Chen Songbai also knew that this was not Xiao Maodou's fault. He was just a child who only knew how to listen to his mother. What wrong had he done?

He wasn't ignoring the child, but he was always in a daze and had no energy to play with him.

The child, however, thought that his third uncle was angry with him.

Little Maodou leaned close to his third uncle's ear and said, "Grandma isn't sick, she's faking it."

Chen Songbai asked, somewhat surprised, "How did you know?"

“I overheard Grandma and Grandpa saying that as long as she gets sick, Uncle San will not marry Sister Qi Mei.”

Xiao Maodou's parents want to have a second child, so they are currently raising the child in his grandparents' house.

At night, Xiao Maodou sleeps in his grandparents' bed.

The two thought the child was asleep, so they secretly plotted a self-inflicted injury.

Little Maodou heard it all.

He's not a two or three-year-old child; he understands what his grandparents are saying.

"But why won't Third Uncle marry Sister Qi Mei now that Grandma is sick?"

Chen Songbai's fingers dug into his palm, and he thought to himself, "Because she knows that her youngest son is soft-hearted and filial to his parents. As long as she threatens him with her own body, she can make him give in."

...

Liang Juying was lying in bed when she saw her husband, Chen Jianghu, come in, and then she sat up.

"How about it?"

"He's in his room, he didn't go out."

"That's good. I heard Qi Mei moved out today. I was worried he might move in."

If they go, the whole brigade will know about them, and how will Songbai find a wife?

Chen Jianghu nodded in satisfaction: "Yes, he probably figured it out. I think your illness can be cured now."

"Okay, I'll put it on for another day tomorrow, and I'll be done the day after tomorrow."

If you pretend to be sick, you can't go to work, you won't get work points, and that will cause a lot of trouble.

"Okay, go to sleep."

The lights went out, and the room gradually quieted down. Unbeknownst to them, the person they were discussing had been standing outside for quite some time...

The next morning, Liang Juying still didn't get up for breakfast.

Chen Songbai got up early, prepared the food, and brought it into her room to eat.

After she finished eating, Chen Songbai brought her another bowl of medicine: "Mother, your illness hasn't gotten better. I asked the barefoot doctor to prescribe double the dosage for you. Let's see if it works."

Liang Juying was a little confused: "Why are you the one brewing the medicine? Where is your sister-in-law?"

"Little Maodou wet the bed, and Sister-in-law is washing the sheets."

So today he personally brewed the medicine and brought it in to watch his mother drink it.

Liang Juying clutched her stomach: "I just ate too much and I can't drink now. Why don't you leave it and I'll drink it later?"

Chen Songbai said righteously, "No, Mother, how can you be so willful? This medicine must be drunk while it's hot."

I specifically asked the barefoot doctor for a new prescription; I guarantee it will cure the illness after you finish it!

He put the spoon in Liang Juying's mouth, intending to feed her.

Every medicine has some degree of toxicity, let alone this one with an increased dosage.

Even those who aren't sick will develop illnesses from drinking it.

Liang Juying dared not drink it.

But no matter how she tried to avoid it, Chen Songbai insisted that she drink the medicine and wouldn't leave until he saw her finish it.

His stubborn expression was infuriating.

"Enough! I said I won't drink it!" Liang Juying finally couldn't hold back and threw the spoon back into the bowl, splashing the medicine onto Chen Songbai's face.

Chen Songbai slammed the bowl down: "Why don't you dare drink it? You're sick, what are you planning to do if you don't take your medicine?"

My usually gentle and obedient son suddenly threw a tantrum.

The family members who heard it outside couldn't believe it.

Everyone rushed into the house and saw the mother on the bed and her son standing by the bed, facing each other.
