"Bullshit!" Wang Caifeng screamed even louder, "You little whore! How dare you slander your own grandmother! You're in cahoots with them! You all want to drive me to my death! God! Strike these heartless bastards to their deaths!"
Just then, a series of hurried, heavy footsteps and panicked shouts came from the doorway: "Xiaoxiao? Grandma? What...what's going on?!"
It was Chen Cheng! He was finally found and brought back by the soldiers sent by Howard.
He arrived travel-worn, his face showing confusion and exhaustion.
But when he pushed past the few neighbors who were peeking around and saw what was inside, he was struck dumb, frozen at the doorway, his face turning ashen!
On the ground was his wife's grandmother, who claimed to be frail and sickly, writhing and wailing with all her might, spewing the most vicious curses.
On the bench sat his wife, her face bruised and swollen, her neck bearing horrific strangulation marks, her eyes vacant and filled with despair.
In the center of the room stood Commander Huo, a high-ranking officer in their military region, his face ashen and covered in cold sweat.
His left shoulder was soaked with blood, and he could barely stand by supporting himself on the table with his right hand. His eyes, which were usually as sharp as a hawk's, were now bloodshot from the pain and burning with cold anger as he stared intently at Wang Caifeng, who was throwing a tantrum on the ground!
This is no home! This is a living hell!
Chen Cheng's vision went black, he gurgled in his throat, his tall body swayed, he felt dizzy, a metallic taste rose in his throat, and he almost collapsed on the spot.
An overwhelming surge of anger, shame, and utter despair overwhelmed him instantly, like a cold tide.
"Chen Cheng!" Huo Huaqiang gasped, his voice hoarse yet carrying a thunderous force, each word seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth, striking Chen Cheng's chaotic nerves. "Control your men! Now! Immediately!"
His gaze swept over Wang Caifeng, who was throwing a tantrum on the ground, and the chill in his eyes could almost freeze you to the bone: "Wang Caifeng! You're faking illness to cause trouble, slandering soldiers, and assaulting military families! Do you even have any respect for the law?!"
Waves of sharp pain shot through his shoulder, making his vision blur, but he had to hold on. "Lift her up! Gag her!"
"Yes, sir!" The two soldiers, who had been holding back their anger for a long time, immediately pounced on him like wolves.
Wang Caifeng tried to struggle and bite, but she was no match for the two young and strong soldiers.
She was easily lifted off the ground like a little chick, and a sweaty towel was stuffed into her still-screaming mouth without a word, leaving only muffled "ooh ooh ooh" sounds and her eyes that were so venomous they seemed to be dripping blood.
Howard's vision went black again, his body swayed uncontrollably, and the knuckles of his right hand, which was bracing against the edge of the table, cracked.
The damp, warm patch on my shoulder seemed to be expanding.
"Commander! You must go to the hospital immediately!" a soldier shouted anxiously, his voice trembling as he looked at the glaring red.
Howard took a deep breath, trying to suppress the dizziness.
He cannot fall here, especially not in front of this shrew!
He gritted his teeth, his gaze sweeping over the pale-faced Chen Cheng and the trembling, vacant-eyed Zhao Xiaoxiao.
"Chen Cheng!" His voice was heavy with the gasps of someone severely injured, yet it still carried an overwhelming force.
"Take your wife and come with me now! To the military hospital! This isn't over!"
He absolutely needs Zhao Xiaoxiao's medical report; Wang Caifeng's strangulation marks are irrefutable evidence! And his own injuries too…
He took a difficult step, the excruciating pain in his left shoulder almost suffocating him. Two soldiers immediately supported him, one on each side.
“And her too!” Howard pointed with his chin at Wang Caifeng, who was gagged and struggling, her eyes glaring. His eyes were icy. “Bring her in! Together!”
He must completely eradicate this cancer from the military family compound!
No matter what means they used! Amidst chaotic footsteps and suppressed sobs, the group struggled to move towards the door.
His gaze, like the most precise scanner, swiftly slid from Howard's pale face to the glaringly dark red bloodstain on his left shoulder, which was still slowly spreading, and lingered for a full two seconds.
A fleeting, elusive glint flashed in the depths of those perpetually lowered, seemingly dull eyes, so quick it was almost an illusion.
Immediately, he resumed his guard post posture, eyes downcast and mindless, like a lifeless clay sculpture.
With the soldiers' support, Howard took each step with unusual difficulty, and cold sweat trickled down his forehead.
He clung to his last shred of clarity, pondering how to report this absurd and horrific farce to the military region leaders, and how to completely eliminate Wang Caifeng, this scourge.
The excruciating pain in his shoulder, like a leech clinging to his bone, reminded him of the severity of his injury.
The strangulation marks on Zhao Xiaoxiao's neck and Wang Caifeng's tantrums were evidence, but not enough... He needed something more conclusive.
Just as they were about to step out of the courtyard gate, a more shrill, almost broken "woo-woo" sound suddenly came from behind them!
It was Wang Caifeng! Supported by two soldiers and with a towel stuffed in her mouth, she used all her strength to slam her head against the corner of the mud-brick wall next to her!
A muffled thud!
The force was so great that even the soldier supporting her felt a jolt in his arm!
A streak of dark red blood slowly flowed down Wang Caifeng's gray and disheveled temples, meandering down her cruel and twisted face, making her look particularly ferocious and terrifying!
She rolled her eyes, her body slid limply downwards, and made strange hoarse noises in her throat, looking like she had been "driven to a dead end" and was "willing to die to prove her point"!
"Grandma!" Chen Cheng was so frightened that he screamed in terror.
