The staff officers cheered excitedly.
Director Wang rushed to the communicator, staring intently at the unassuming black box, his face filled with unbelievable ecstasy.
"Reconnaissance Team One! Report your location and situation."
Mingzhao's voice remained calm and steady, as if he had only done a trivial matter.
"Hey! We're at the bottom of the valley southeast of Eagle's Beak Cliff, coordinates D7-93! Enemy disguised command post spotted! Repeat! Enemy disguised command post spotted! We've been engaged by a small enemy reconnaissance team! Requesting fire support! Requesting..."
Howard's voice was rapid and clear, and sporadic gunshots could even be faintly heard in the background.
Precise coordinates! Crucial intelligence!
"Map! Quickly mark it! D7-93."
Director Wang's voice trembled with excitement, and the staff immediately rushed to the map.
"Impossible, absolutely impossible." The sarcasm on Wang Ai's face shattered instantly, leaving only extreme shock and self-doubt.
She rushed to the communicator, pointing at it in a panic: "It's fake! It must be fake! How could this piece of junk picked out of a garbage dump be fake..."
Before he could finish speaking...
With a "bang..." sound.
A muffled thud was followed by a suppressed cry of pain.
Wang Ai jumped away suddenly, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
In her haste, she pressed her hand on the heatsink, which was already running at full power and its temperature had skyrocketed! The scorching metal instantly burned her palm.
The excruciating pain caused her to instinctively fling her hand, knocking over a teacup that a nearby staff officer had just brewed but hadn't yet drunk from.
"Splash..."
Scalding hot tea leaves mixed with hot tea water were poured over her head, and the enamel mug crashed to the ground with a loud bang and rolled around.
"Ah..." Wang Aitang let out a miserable scream and jumped up and down in a disheveled state.
The brand-new work clothes were instantly soaked with dark tea stains, steaming hot. My face and hands were covered with tea dust, and my palms were burned red and stinging.
The superior technical consultant demeanor he had just displayed vanished completely, leaving him only with a disheveled and comical appearance.
The command center fell silent for a moment, then a few suppressed but uncontrollable snickers rang out from a corner.
Director Wang's gaze swept over Wang Ai.
He didn't say much.
All attention was focused on Mingzhao.
He snatched the microphone from Mingzhao's hand, his voice trembling slightly with excitement.
He said to Howard on the other end of the communicator, "Reconnaissance team! Reconnaissance team! This is command post! Target coordinates D7-93 confirmed! Hold on! Fire support is on its way! Repeat, hold on!"
The command was clearly transmitted via communicator to the bottom of Eagle's Beak Valley, shrouded in rain and fog and riddled with battery malfunctions.
Just then, an accident occurred.
In his excitement, a staff officer accidentally knocked over a water glass on the table, spilling half a glass of water directly onto the prototype communicator that was in operation.
A buzzing sound of electricity rang out.
"This..." Su Xuan exclaimed in surprise, and rushed over immediately to wipe the water stains off the communicator with his clothes.
Everyone's heart jumped into their throat.
"It's over." Despite the excruciating pain and disheveled state, Wang Ai's eyes flashed with a twisted sense of pleasure as she witnessed this scene.
Mingzhao remained unusually calm. He picked up a clean piece of cotton cloth from the side and handed it to Su Xuan.
Su Xuan hurriedly and gently sucked away most of the water on the circuit board, and then, under the tense and breathless gaze of everyone, he reconnected the power to the surgical department.
After a few seconds of suffocating silence...
The scout's excited call came through the communicator's speaker again, clear and distinct.
"Dongyao! Dongyao! The firepower is accurate, the target is clear! The target is clear! We are safe."
After a brief silence in the command post, thunderous applause and cheers erupted, with even the usually serious staff officers excitedly slamming their fists on the table.
Mingzhao tilted her head, recognizing the voice coming from the other end; this time it wasn't Huo Hua.
Director Wang was so excited that his face turned red. He suddenly turned to Mingzhao, about to speak.
"Get out of the way."
A booming, authoritative voice rang out.
The crowd automatically parted to make way for them.
An elderly man with a burly build and a solemn expression walked over with a powerful stride. His shoulder insignia were adorned with general's stars.
He is Zhao Zhenbang, the deputy commander of the military region and the overall commander of this exercise.
Deputy Commander Zhao's gaze was sharp as lightning. He first glanced at Wang Ai, who was lying on the ground in a disheveled state, clutching her hands and looking pained and incredulous.
His gaze immediately settled on the black box, still dripping with water but having performed a miraculous feat, and the pale-faced but ramrod straight researcher standing beside it.
Commander Zhao didn't speak. He walked straight to the table, reached out and grabbed the microphone, which was also covered in mud.
His hands, which had commanded thousands of troops and were as steady as a rock, were now trembling slightly, almost imperceptibly, due to excitement.
He took a deep breath, spoke loudly into the microphone, and his voice resonated throughout the command center.
"All forward combat units. This is Zhao Zhenbang. Report the current situation immediately. Repeat, all combat units, report to me."
The command, transmitted via that communicator, instantly pierced through the rain and electronic interference of the Yanshan Mountains, reaching every corner of the exercise field.
After a brief silence.
"Report to command! The Red Team's 1st Battalion has broken through the Blue Team's second line of defense."
"Report! The Blue Force armored units have encountered snipers in my third area."
"Report! Air defense unit is in position."
Clear, steady reports, carrying the scent of battlefield smoke, came one after another from the communicator's speaker.
There was no more of that despairing noise, no more intermittent static, only the most direct and clear battlefield feedback.
Commander Zhao listened quietly to the clear sounds, which struck his heart like the strongest drumbeats, and also struck the hearts of everyone in the command post.
He put down the microphone, turned around, and fixed his piercing eyes on Mingzhao.
He stretched out his large, bodhisattva-like hand and patted Mingzhao firmly on the shoulder.
Mingzhao was visibly shaken by his slap.
Su Xuan wanted to shield her from being knocked down.
"good."
Commander Zhao's voice was as loud as a bell, filled with admiration.
“Comrade Mingzhao.” He looked Mingzhao up and down, then glanced at the communicator on the table.
"This is the real 'ears that can hear the wind,' and it is also the 'eyes that our troops urgently need right now."
Commander Zhao raised his head, his gaze sweeping over everyone in the command post who were holding their breath, before finally settling on the imported machine that only made noise in vain.
"These imported machines are nothing special."
He declared unequivocally, "This Heavenly Sound, developed by our own people, is excellent! Extremely good!"
Even Wang Ai could only manage a smile and praise Tianyin as being exceptionally good.
Su Xuan glanced at her smugly.
