Is there an error in the presentation of Mingzhao's achievements in Chapter 129?

The air in the conference room was so thick you could wring water out of it.

The light bulb overhead cast a dim, yellowish light.

The airtight conference room felt like an iron can at that moment.

All eyes turned to the small, dark iron box on the long conference table.

"This is your portable communicator?"

Chen Songnian chuckled.

Several project team members behind him covered their mouths and chuckled.

Zhang Mingyuan, sitting on the upper hand, was also somewhat embarrassed.

He frowned. His gaze shifted heavily from the communicator prototype to Mingzhao.

He then glanced at the people from other research institutions who had been specially invited today, forcing a calm expression on his face.

"Dean Zhang." A strong, resonant voice rang out.

He was Director Wang, sitting next to the head of the table with his shoulder insignia facing the communications department logo.

He rubbed his temples, interrupting what Dean Zhang was about to say.

"Everyone is aware of the project's difficulties. Technical bottlenecks cannot be overcome in a day or two. This is not the responsibility of a single person."

As soon as he opened his mouth, Zhang Mingyuan's heart sank.

He opened his mouth to speak, but Director Wang raised his hand to signal him not to speak yet.

"Since I've already seen today's project presentation on the communicator, let's stop here for now. Next, this project..."

He paused, his voice lowering, "Let's put it on hold for now... awaiting further instructions from higher authorities. As for the personnel in charge... we'll make further arrangements later."

The word "put on hold" struck Zhang Mingyuan's last glimmer of hope like a hammer blow from two opposing forces.

Su Xuan slammed his hand on the table, his eyes widening as he scanned everyone present: "This is completely inconsistent with our actual test results."

"You brought the device yourselves, and you conducted the experiments yourselves. No one but you has touched this so-called communicator."

One person countered, "Is this the project that Comrade Mingzhao himself insisted on being in charge of alone?"

"If this is the outcome, then I doubt whether Comrade Mingzhao's personal abilities meet the standards of our institute. After all, individual heroism... is unacceptable."

Zhang Mingyuan turned pale upon hearing this.

Our great leader once said that individual heroism is unacceptable.

Such a big hat, let alone Ming Zhao, even he couldn't carry it.

"Dean Zhang, I request that the test and demonstration be conducted again."

Su Xuan looked at Zhang Mingyuan and said solemnly.

"I can make a solemn pledge."

Zhang Mingyuan was about to refuse.

Mingzhao raised her hand to stop Su Xuan, "I will write the military order."

"Mingzhao. What nonsense are you talking about? Do you know that the situation is almost certainly confirmed now?"

Zhang Mingyuan wanted to stop Mingzhao; in fact, they had already tested and demonstrated it three times in a row.

However, the actual measured communication distance, with a signal wavelength coverage of only 4.8 kilometers, is less than a fingertip of the previously demonstrated full range.

Zhang Mingyuan had seen it at the Hongxing Machinery Factory.

Liu Zhenshan had also experienced it firsthand. Logically, the improved equipment from the Ming Dynasty shouldn't have produced such a precipitous drop in water levels.

He had just vehemently refuted this as well. He even allowed Su Xuan and Ming Zhao to make their own adjustments in front of everyone.

Without exception, the longest stretch was only about 6.2 kilometers.

"Dean Zhang..." Su Xuan wanted to say something more.

Director Wang spoke up: "Dean Zhang... let's stop here."

As Director Wang waved his hand, a suppressed sigh and the harsh sound of tables and chairs being moved filled the conference room.

In the crowd, Liu Wenjun glanced at Mingzhao, her eyes filled with concern.

But she had no say at that moment.

As the crowd loosened, they surged outwards like a receding tide.

Chen Songnian snorted coldly. He glared at Ming Zhao and Su Xuan, who were sitting in the corner.

The meaning in his eyes couldn't be clearer.

Mingzhao remained unmoved.

Su Xuan was stung by that gaze and immediately wanted to point at him and ask what he meant.

A deep sigh echoed beside Su Xuan.

It was Director Wang. He had walked up beside him without anyone noticing, and he didn't look at Mingzhao.

Looking out the window, the gray factory area seemed to carry a heavy sense of worry.

"Dean Zhang... if our technology is outdated, we'll be vulnerable. Yesterday... at Outpost No. 3, because the coordinates transmitted back from the signal were so intermittent and off-target, a patrol team almost got trapped deep in the mountains... Sigh!"

He sighed heavily, his rough fingers tapping the table unconsciously.

"What the border guards lack is someone with exceptional hearing who can clearly transmit sounds even in the mountains, in wind and snow, and amidst electromagnetic interference."

"Portable, reliable, anti-interference, and wide coverage—these requirements are now extremely difficult for us to meet."

Portable, reliable, anti-interference, long-range.

These requirements, which Mingzhao could think of: the resonant principle of biological farms, anti-interference in extreme environments... the electromagnetic resonance characteristics of natural minerals... modular low-power design...

Mingzhao had considered all of these.

The only thing unclear is why the results of this test are completely different from the results of her and Su Xuan's own tests.

It can be confirmed that the communicator was brought over by her and Su Xuan themselves, and did not pass through anyone else's hands in between.

Where could the problem lie?

Mingzhao's gaze swept around.

"This conference room..."

Zhang Mingyuan immediately focused his attention upon hearing Mingzhao speak.

Director Wang also looked at her.

"What?"

"I would like to request permission to leave this meeting room before presenting the test results."

Director Wang shook his head.

"Comrade Mingzhao. I know you're persistent, but the reason we're conducting the tests indoors is because we don't want the special frequency waves here to be transmitted outside."

"Our research is of paramount importance, and if it were discovered by spies, there would be serious consequences."

"That concludes this test demonstration. The communicator project will be paused for now."

Director Wang's tone left no room for argument.

Zhang Mingyuan's eyes also conveyed a hint and warning as he shook his head at Mingzhao and Su Xuan, telling them not to contradict Director Wang.

"I've heard of your name: Comrade Mingzhao."

"You redraw the wing plans for the Dongfeng-7. Your talent is undeniable; you can spot the problems just by looking at the drawings."

"But doing scientific research requires more than just talent... and more than just individual heroism...."

His eyes held the loving affection of an elder for a younger generation, and his tone of voice was earnest and sincere.

“If you don’t mind, I think you should go back to the projects you’re good at.”

This means that Mingzhao needs to redraw the fighter jet blueprints and research new functions for the aircraft.

Zhang Mingyuan nodded in agreement. Mingzhao was indeed extremely talented in fighter jets and airships, but perhaps she was even more adept at the aerospace field.

“Director Wang.” Mingzhao raised his head, his eyes sharp and firm.

"Please...give me a few days! Just a few days."
