Xiao Shuisheng touched his face in a daze.
Jiang Zao rode his bike back, but didn't go straight home. Instead, he turned to his second uncle's house in the next alley, parked his bike and went into the house.
Only Second Aunt Feng Miao was at home. When Feng Miao saw Jiang Zao coming over, she glanced at him with disdain.
"Shanshan is out, come tomorrow."
Jiang Zao glanced into the room and said, "Aunt, I borrowed Shanshan's book the other day and she didn't return it to me. I'm taking it back to read."
Feng Miao said, "Go find it yourself."
Jiang Shan is lucky as she is the only child in the family.
She had her own room with pink curtains on the windows and her own desk. Unlike Jiang Zao, she had four siblings and could only squeeze into a small room with her sister Jiang Xing. It was stuffy in the summer and drafty in the winter, making it difficult for her to sleep well.
Jiang Zao opened Jiang Shan's drawer and took out a jade pendant from the biscuit box.
She symbolically found a book and took it in her hand. Before leaving, she waved the book to Feng Miao and said, "Auntie, I'll take it."
Feng Miao raised an eyebrow and said, "Jiang Zao, you've never been as good as my Shanshan in your studies. Don't just follow what your sister does. Your sister has talent, but you don't."
"Listen to your aunt, marry your partner as soon as possible. I heard that Xiao Shuisheng's mother doesn't like you. It's not her fault. You have no job and no education. Apart from a pretty face, you have nothing. It's better to make it a done deal as soon as possible and let the Xiao family recognize you."
Jiang Zao was not angry and left with a smile.
Don’t worry, auntie, your daughter will give you a big surprise soon!
Feng Miao saw Jiang Zao just laughing foolishly, and without saying anything in reply, he spat on the ground: "What a fool!"
"No matter how good a man is, she can't hold on to him. It's a pity that Shanshan isn't as pretty as her, otherwise how could a man like Xiao Shuisheng be her turn as a fool?"
Jiang Zao got the jade pendant and couldn't wait to put it around his neck.
The jade pendant was in the shape of a teardrop, a bit like jade and a bit like stone. When she put it on, the cool touch made her entire chest cool down.
In her previous life, Jiang Shan asked to borrow it to have a look, and a few days later she told her that the jade pendant was lost.
Just before she died, Jiang Shan came to the hospital to show off, saying that the jade pendant was auspicious and that as long as one dripped blood on it to recognize its owner, one would have endless good luck and be successful in everything they did.
Only then did Jiang Zao realize that the jade pendant her grandmother secretly left for her had such miraculous effects!
When she reached a deserted place, she took out the jade pendant and dripped a drop of blood into it.
The blood disappeared, and the jade pendant flashed red before returning to its normal state.
Sure enough, Jiang Shan hasn't discovered this yet and hasn't recognized the master.
Jiang Zao returned the bicycle to Yanqiu and returned to the door of her house. She adjusted her breathing and walked into the yard with red eyes.
Liu Chunhua saw Jiang Zao coming back, pulled aside the curtain and asked, "Why did you take so long?"
Jiang Zao raised her head: "Mom, Jiang Shan wants to steal my man."
