Chapter 82 Good Stuff

Chapter 82 Good Stuff

The three of them left this area and came to an uninhabited residential area next door. Although it has now become a wasteland, the houses still here tell the world that they were once glorious.

Soon, under the leadership of Uncle Zhong, the three of them stood outside a large, dilapidated house.

"This house is where I grew up. I never expected it to become like this now." Uncle Zhong stood outside the house and looked at this once beautiful ancestral home which now looked like a haunted house. He felt so sad.

Jiang Hong walked up to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Uncle Zhong, I have asked one of my comrades to help investigate your case. Your innocence will soon be revealed, and then this house will belong to you again."

Uncle Zhong wiped the tears from his eyes and said, "Forget it. I already have one foot in the coffin and no relatives around me. It's useless for me to come to such a big house. If the truth comes out about my affairs, I will donate this house."

When Li Yiyi heard his generous words, she couldn't help but feel admiration for this old man.

After all, this is not a piece of clothing or anything, but a big house.

After wiping away his tears, Uncle Zhong immediately turned around and said to the young couple, "But before donating this house, there are some things here that cannot be donated. They must be given to people who understand them."

As he spoke, he blinked at the two of them with a mysterious look in his eyes.

"Come on, follow me in." After blinking his eyes, he walked inside first and shouted to the couple behind him.

The young couple were curious about what kind of medicine Uncle Zhong was selling. They didn't ask much, but just followed him in.

Walking inside, the scene was even more dilapidated than outside. The huge yard was now overgrown with weeds that were almost as tall as a child.

And the tiles on the roof have mostly fallen off due to long-term disrepair.

Uncle Zhong suppressed his red eyes and continued to walk inside with the two people behind him.

Seeing that there was a wall in front of them and there was no way to go down, the young couple wondered if the old man had taken them the wrong way. Suddenly, they saw the old man in front of them stopped, turned in a direction, and stood in a corner near the wall.

Then, Uncle Zhong suddenly squatted on the ground, and his pair of weather-beaten, shriveled hands groped the ground for a long time.

Just as Jiang Hong was about to step forward to help, he suddenly heard him shout, "Found it."

"Comrade Xiao Jiang, just help me pull up this hook." Uncle Zhong, who was worried that he didn't have enough strength, turned around and saw Jiang Hong standing behind him, and immediately gave him instructions in a rude manner.

Jiang Hong responded, "Leave it to me, you step back for a moment." He walked forward and took the iron hook. After Uncle Zhong retreated to a safe position, he pulled the iron hook with force.

As he pulled the car, the seemingly flat land suddenly loosened slowly. Not long after, a piece of iron plate weighing about 100 pounds protruded from the flat ground.

The moment the iron plate was pulled up, a hole large enough for one person to enter appeared in the eyes of the three of them.

"Fortunately it's still there and wasn't destroyed by those people." Looking at the cave entrance, an expression of relief appeared on Mr. Zhong's face.

"Oh no, I forgot to bring the oil lamp." Looking at the black hole, Uncle Zhong said regretfully.

Li Yiyi smiled and took out a flashlight from her pocket, "I have a flashlight here."

When Uncle Zhong saw the flashlight in her hand, a smile reappeared on his regretful old face, "Fortunately, you brought it, Xiao Jiang's wife. Give it to me."

After saying that, he turned on the flashlight and walked towards the cave with it.

Seeing this, Jiang Hong immediately stopped him and said, "Uncle Zhong, let me go in first, and you and my wife follow behind me."

Uncle Zhong smiled and waved his hand, "No need, I grew up playing in this cave. If there is something in it, I can walk through it even with my eyes closed. Don't worry, it's okay."

After saying that, he strode inside with a flashlight.

The young couple looked at his sudden excitement, looked at each other and smiled at the same time.

They didn't know if it was their illusion, but they always felt that after Uncle Zhong came here, he seemed to have more life in him.

"Do you feel that Uncle Zhong has changed since he came here? He seems a lot happier than when we saw him in the shed area before?" Li Yiyi whispered in Jiang Hong's ear as the young couple followed him in.

When Jiang Hong heard his wife say what he was thinking, he nodded vigorously and said, "I can see. She must be happy to see the house where she grew up."

"What are you talking about in the back? Come over here quickly." Just then, Uncle Zhong's excited voice came from inside.

The young couple stopped talking and quickened their pace to go inside.

Just when Li Yiyi was about to get close to Uncle Zhong, her nose suddenly moved and her feet stopped.

Jiang Hong, who had been with her, soon noticed her abnormality and stopped walking. He turned around and shouted to her worriedly, "Wife, what's wrong?"

"Do you smell it?" she asked excitedly, pulling his arm.

Jiang Hong immediately moved his nose, sniffed the air again and again, and finally said affirmatively, "It seems to smell like medicine!"

Li Yiyi was still wondering if her nose was too sensitive, but now even Jiang Hong, who knew nothing about medicinal herbs, could smell it. She knew it was not her illusion, there really was a medicinal smell in the cave, and it was particularly strong.

"You've all smelled it, right? Come over and take a look. I guarantee you'll be even more surprised." Just then, Mr. Zhong's excited voice was heard from inside.

At this time, Li Yiyi couldn't wait to see what the medicinal herbs hidden in this cave looked like.

She immediately left Jiang Hong beside her and strode towards Uncle Zhong.

Jiang Hong, who was abandoned by his wife, saw that he had been ruthlessly abandoned by her and could only follow with a helpless smile on his face.

On the other side, Lin Yiyi, who had already walked to Uncle Zhong's side, could no longer move forward. Her eyes were so frightened by the things in front of her that she couldn't move them away.

"Is this, is this all true?" After a long while, she found her voice again, looked up at Uncle Zhong who had a calm expression, and asked.

"Can you recognize medicinal herbs?" Uncle Zhong asked her with a smile.

Li Yiyi nodded, then immediately thought of something and shook her head slightly with an embarrassed look on her face.

"Actually, I don't really know how to recognize them. I've seen what they look like in some books, but I've never seen the real thing." She explained to him embarrassedly.
