On the weekend, Qin Chuan went to Beijing Normal University early in the morning.
He planned to pick up Qin Chuxin to go shopping together, and then the two of them would go to Xia Qingqing's house together.
When they arrived at the girls' dormitory, Qin Chuan randomly called out to a short-haired girl: "Excuse me, could you please go to room 405 and call Qin Chuxin down? Tell her her brother is here."
The short-haired girl looked at Qin Chuan's handsome face and nodded shyly: "Okay, wait here for a moment, I'll go and call someone for you right away."
"Thank you," Qin Chuan nodded politely to her.
"You're welcome," the girl said, then covered her face and went into the dormitory building.
Someone who usually finds climbing three floors tiring climbed up to the fourth floor in one go and knocked on the door of room 405: "Excuse me, is Qin Chuxin here? Your brother is waiting for you downstairs."
Upon hearing this, Qin Chuxin immediately sat up in bed: "Yes, I am Qin Chuxin. Thank you, classmate."
"You're welcome, I'll be going now," the girl said with a smile and waved to Qin Chuxin.
Su Yue, who was reluctant to get out of bed, instantly woke up when she heard the sensitive words "Brother Qin Chuxin".
She hurriedly started changing her clothes: "Xin Xin, you're going out now, right? I'm also planning to go to the cafeteria for breakfast. We can go downstairs together."
How could Qin Chuxin not guess her little thoughts? She smiled and nodded, "Okay, go wash up quickly, I'll wait for you."
It was 10 minutes later when the two came downstairs. Qin Chuan saw his sister come down and immediately went to greet her: "Let's go, let's go buy something first."
Qin Chuxin noticed the disappointed look on Su Yue's face and took Qin Chuan's hand: "Brother, why didn't my roommate say hello?"
Qin Chu'an paused as he was about to leave. He was preoccupied with buying a gift later and hadn't noticed that there was someone else with his sister. He turned his head and smiled at Su Yue, who was standing to the side, saying, "Hello, Su Yue."
Su Yue thought he had forgotten her, but when she heard that he still remembered her name, her eyes immediately lit up: "Hello, Qin classmate."
Qin Chu'an felt a little uncomfortable under her intense gaze and urged, "Xin Xin, let's go."
Qin Chuxin smiled and waved to Su Yue: "Yueyue, I'll go first then. You should go to the cafeteria for breakfast too."
The two walked out of the school gate together, and Qin Chuxin smiled and nudged Qin Chuan's arm: "Brother, what do you think of my roommate?"
She could tell that Su Yue was interested in her brother, and if her brother didn't dislike Su Yue, she would try her best to bring the two together.
Finding a wife is not easy. As a thoughtful and good younger sister, she should help her brother find a good partner as soon as possible. Ideally, they should get married right after graduation and have a nephew or niece for him.
Qin Chu'an tapped her head with his finger: "Don't think too much about things that don't concern you."
"Ouch," Qin Chuxin glared at him accusingly, but didn't say anything more.
Her brother's attitude means he doesn't like Yueyue. When she goes back to school, he'll say a lot of bad things about her brother to Yueyue, so that Yueyue will die sooner rather than later.
Qin Chuxin was secretly plotting how to cut off her brother's romantic entanglements when she heard his sinister voice: "Qin Chuxin, if you dare to secretly date male classmates behind my back at school, don't blame me for dealing with you."
Just thinking about how the cabbage she had painstakingly raised had been eaten by a pig made Qin Chu'an feel like she was about to have a heart attack.
"Brother, what are you talking about? How could I possibly be secretly dating someone?" Qin Chuxin rolled her eyes speechlessly.
"That would be best. If you really have someone you like or a boy is pursuing you, you must tell your brother, okay?" Qin Chu'an instructed worriedly.
He wasn't against his sister dating, since they would eventually have to start their own families, but there were just too many scumbags in the world, and he had to be careful to vet the right men for his sister.
"Okay, okay, brother, you're so long-winded," Qin Chuxin said coquettishly.
The two went to the supply and marketing cooperative together and bought some canned brown sugar. Then, carrying the goods, they found the Xia family home according to the address given by Xia Qingqing.
When Gou Dan saw Qin Chu'an and his sister suddenly appear, he happily shouted towards the main room, "Sister, Sister Xin Xin and the others are here!"
Upon hearing the sound, Xia Qingqing immediately came out of the main room: "Xiao An, Xin Xin, come inside and sit down with me."
"Qingqing, I miss you so much," Qin Chuxin said affectionately as she took Xia Qingqing's arm and nuzzled her shoulder.
Xia Qingqing smiled and pinched her smooth cheek: "Why didn't you come to see me before school started?"
"Hehe, it's the same now," Qin Chuxin said with a silly laugh, trying to fool the situation.
Zhang Hongyan was also very happy to see Qin Chuan and his sister. She had not met the two siblings many times, but she had learned some information about them from her daughter.
Knowing that these two siblings lost their parents at a young age and grew up relying on each other, it's hard not to feel sorry for them.
Zhang Hongyan looked at the canned goods and brown sugar on the table and said, feigning displeasure, "You're here, why did you buy so much stuff? You two kids are being too formal."
"It's just a small token of my sister's and my appreciation. I'm glad you don't mind," Qin Chu'an said with a smile.
"How could you possibly complain? I'll accept these things this time. But if you bring anything over again next time, I won't let you in."
Faced with Zhang Hongyan's threat, Qin Chuan readily agreed. As for whether he would bring a gift next time, he would definitely bring one; he couldn't just come empty-handed to freeload a meal.
Besides, compared to the help Xia Qingqing had given them, this gift was nothing.
Zhang Hongyan, unaware of someone's double-dealing intentions, smiled and took Qin Chuxin's hand, saying, "Xinxin, come to our house more often during holidays, and your aunt will cook you delicious food."
Qin Chuxin smiled gently and nodded obediently, "Okay, thank you, Auntie."
At noon, Xia Qingqing deliberately didn't ask Zhang Hongyan to cook, but instead ate out.
This was also a promise Xia Qingqing had made to Qin Chuan and his sister; she had promised to treat them to Peking duck when they came to Beijing, and she absolutely could not break her word.
Worried that his two older siblings wouldn't know how to eat roast duck since it was their first time, Gou Dan specially demonstrated it for them. He handed the roast duck wrapped in lotus leaf pancakes to Qin Chuxin and urged, "Sister Xinxin, try it and see how it tastes! I think it's super delicious."
"Thank you, Lele," Qin Chuxin said with a smile as she ate the roast duck. After finishing, she couldn't help but praise it, "It's just as delicious as Lele said."
"Right, right? I love roast duck the most!" Gou Dan said excitedly.
It's always easy to feel happy when others appreciate the food you enjoy.
Qin Chu'an teased him on purpose: "Why did you only wrap it for your sister Xinxin? It's my first time eating it too. Lele is being biased."
Gou Dan thought he was jealous, so he quickly explained, "Yes, yes, Brother Chu An, don't worry, I'll wrap it for you right away."
