Chapter 311 A Terrible Blind Date

After dinner, Liu Ya suggested that the young people go out for a walk and get to know each other.

Wang Xiaomei nodded with a smile: "That makes sense. Qiaoqiao, you and Zhiyuan should have a good talk."

"Okay, I understand. I'll have a good talk with him," Wang Qiaoqiao said with a bright smile.

Liu Ya instructed Ning Zhiyuan to make sure the little girl was safely returned home, and then she went home first.

After the two adults left, Wang Qiaoqiao's face immediately fell. She gave Ning Zhiyuan a haughty look and said, "Let's find a place to talk."

"Hmm, let's go to the nearby park," Ning Zhiyuan said after thinking for a moment.

Upon hearing this, Wang Qiaoqiao turned and walked towards the park without saying that she would wait for Ning Zhiyuan behind her.

Ning Zhiyuan awkwardly touched his nose. With such a cold attitude, it was easy to tell that she was dissatisfied with him.

Thinking of this, Ning Zhiyuan smiled bitterly. He was being disliked like this. If Yuan Xin knew, he would definitely laugh at him.

Ning Zhiyuan shook his head and followed Wang Qiaoqiao at a distance toward the park.

When they arrived at the park, Wang Qiaoqiao went straight to an empty bench and sat down.

She looked up at Ning Zhiyuan standing beside her and felt a strange sense of oppression. She patted the bench and said, "Comrade Ning, please come down and sit down too."

Ning Zhiyuan glanced at the length of the bench and found a corner spot to sit down.

"You should have noticed, right? I didn't want to come to this blind date with you. My parents and aunt forced me to come," Wang Qiaoqiao said, glancing at Ning Zhiyuan's expression.

Seeing that he looked calm and didn't seem angry, she continued, "I don't want to lie to you either. Actually, I already have someone I like, but my parents look down on his family because of his poor financial situation and absolutely refuse to let us be together."

At this point, Wang Qiaoqiao's voice carried a hint of disappointment.

After graduating from high school, she worked in a steel factory as an office clerk, where she met Gao Wenlin, who was also an office clerk.

Gao Wenlin was fair-skinned and clean-cut, a typical scholar, and had a sweet tongue. He soon won over Wang Qiaoqiao's heart.

The two secretly dated for a while, and later Wang Qiaoqiao felt that the relationship was stable, so she told her parents about it.

As a result, after learning about the man's family background, Wang's parents strongly opposed the two being together.

Gao Wenlin's father was a factory worker and his mother was a temporary worker in the factory canteen, while Wang Qiaoqiao's father was the deputy director of a textile factory and her mother also worked in the neighborhood office.

Gao Wenlin's family background was significantly inferior to Wang Qiaoqiao's. If it were only that, Wang's parents wouldn't have been so strongly opposed. The problem was that Gao Wenlin had four younger brothers and sisters, the youngest of whom was only 3 years old.

The family lived together, and Gao Wenlin always handed over her salary to her mother, which meant she was helping her parents support her younger siblings. You can imagine how much pressure it was to marry into such a family and become the eldest daughter-in-law.

Wang Qiaoqiao is an only child in her family. She was pampered like a precious jewel from a young age. Not only did she not have to hand over her monthly salary, but her parents would also secretly subsidize her.

Under these circumstances, Wang Qiaoqiao would definitely suffer endless hardships if she married into the Gao family. As for expecting Wang's parents to help support their son-in-law's entire family, that's absolutely impossible. What family would want their perfectly good daughter to go and help someone else's family?

But Wang Qiaoqiao was already infatuated with Gao Wenlin and couldn't listen to any of the grand principles her parents were trying to teach her.

She was only willing to go on a blind date because her mother fainted from anger, leaving Wang Qiaoqiao with no choice but to compromise.

Ning Zhiyuan listened quietly as the girl rambled on and on about everything. He rubbed his temples with a hint of helplessness. After all, they were on a blind date, so was it inappropriate for her to tell him all this?

If it were someone with a worse temper, they might already be swearing.

Wang Qiaoqiao got angrier and angrier as she talked to herself: "Comrade Ning, do you think my parents are being unreasonable? Wenlin is such a good person, how could they not like him?"

"Ah, I don't know either, but parents always have their reasons," Ning Zhiyuan said thoughtfully.

"What reason could there be? It's just that they're materialistic and prejudiced against the poor," Wang Qiaoqiao pouted unhappily.

Looking at the innocent yet foolish little girl in front of him, Ning Zhiyuan suddenly thought of his own younger sister.

If Jingqiu, that girl, did something like that when she grows up, he'd probably be furious.

It seems I should take precautions in the future, at least to avoid being as naive as the girl in front of me.

Seeing Wang Qiaoqiao still complaining about how unreasonable her parents were, Ning Zhiyuan couldn't help but say, "Comrade Wang, I think your parents are doing this for your own good. You should try to understand their good intentions. No parent would want their pampered daughter to suffer in someone else's home."

Wang Qiaoqiao was taken aback, and suddenly asked, "Comrade Ning, do you also think that I would suffer if I married Wenlin?"

Well, Ning Zhiyuan was speechless for a moment. How could this girl not understand the point? That was clearly not what he wanted to express.

"I don't know about that. It depends on your own perspective. If you don't feel it's bitter, then it's not bitter."

Ning Zhiyuan suddenly stood up: "Comrade Wang, now that we've made things clear, I'll take you back."

He had actually wanted to leave a long time ago, but Wang Qiaoqiao kept talking and talking, and out of politeness he could only listen quietly.

"You don't need to take me, I can go back by myself," Wang Qiaoqiao suddenly said, feeling a little embarrassed.

She also realized that the man in front of her was her blind date today, and that she had talked so much about her relationships with other men in front of him, which was really going too far.

"Let me take you back," Ning Zhiyuan said.

Although there's no real danger in broad daylight, there's always a chance of something going wrong. If something happens to Wang Qiaoqiao after he leaves, he'll be in real trouble.

Seeing his insistence, Wang Qiaoqiao had no choice but to agree: "Alright, then I'll have to trouble you, Comrade Ning."

"By the way, could you please not tell anyone else what I just said?" Wang Qiaoqiao had just realized this. She regretted telling Ning Zhiyuan everything, but she couldn't help herself since she finally had someone to confide in.

Ning Zhiyuan nodded: "Yes, I won't tell anyone, don't worry."

"Thank you so much, Comrade Ning. You're such a good person," Wang Qiaoqiao said happily.

After safely delivering Wang Qiaoqiao home, the kind-hearted Ning Zhiyuan returned home.

When Liu Ya saw her son return, she immediately went up to him excitedly: "Son, how are things? Are you getting along well with Qiaoqiao?"
