Chapter 277 Exposure, Confession

The adjutant still couldn't believe that someone could actually conjure fruit out of thin air.

This matter was of great importance, and the adjutant dared not treat it lightly, so he personally went to investigate the Carl family.

The final investigation revealed that the source of the new fruit sold by the Carl family could not be traced.

During this period, their family neither left the main planet nor bought anything from others, and it was even more impossible that they grew it themselves.

The adjutant's heart jumped into his throat. 108 different schemes flashed through his mind. Could this be a conspiracy against the marshal?

Oh my god, he's such a fool! He actually handed the item to the marshal before even figuring out where it came from.

The adjutant rushed into the marshal's study in a hurry and immediately saw the empty plate on the table.

His eyes widened instantly: "Marshal, you ate all these apples?"

"What, do I have to report to you to eat an apple?" Morris replied unhappily.

The adjutant shook his head vigorously: "That's not what I meant. It's just that this apple... its origin is a bit questionable."

"What's wrong? I was fine before I ate it, but there's a problem after I finished eating it?" Morris's expression remained calm, showing no sign of worry.

What a joke! He's been eating those apples for so long, how could he not have noticed if they were actually affecting his health? He's truly wasted his position as Imperial Marshal.

The adjutant quickly relayed the information he had gathered to Maurice: "Marshal, here's what happened. These fruits seemed to appear out of thin air. However, based on my deduction, these fruits were probably produced by Karl's son, Gleck."

The adjutant carefully examined the commonalities between the two instances of fruit appearing: both were sold only after Carl's son returned home, which proved that it was definitely related to Gleick.

Morris's expression turned serious: "You just said that kid named Glake is studying at the Interstellar Military Academy, right?"

The adjutant nodded: "That's right. Should we arrest him and interrogate him?"

Upon hearing this, Morris rubbed his temples in displeasure: "What interrogation? That child hasn't done anything to violate interstellar law."

"Uh, yes, I misspoke. Should I have invited them over for a chat?" the adjutant quickly corrected himself.

Upon hearing this, Maurice's expression softened somewhat: "Yes, please come directly to the Marshal's Mansion. I'll speak with him personally."

He was very interested in the fruit in Glek's hand, and he was certain that eating it would not do any harm to his health.

Regardless of how that guy named Glek obtained these fruits, as long as it doesn't affect the safety of the empire, it's not a big deal.

"Yes," the adjutant saluted and left the study.

......

When Glek was called to the principal's office, he was a little confused. He kept wondering what the principal wanted to talk to an ordinary student like him about, but he couldn't figure it out no matter how hard he tried.

Upon entering the principal's office, the first person Glek noticed was the man in the silver military uniform. This man exuded an aura of authority, quite different from the people Glek usually encountered.

Glek glanced at him briefly before looking away and greeted the kind-looking old man sitting in the chair: "Hello, Principal, may I ask what brings you here?"

"This is the adjutant of the Imperial Marshal. He may have some questions for you. Why don't you go with them?"

As soon as the principal finished speaking, he noticed that Glek had stiffened up all over, so he quickly smiled and reassured him, "Don't worry, kid, it's really nothing serious. The adjutant just wants to have a chat with you."

"Um, I...I understand," Glek forced a smile.

Even after getting into the hovercar with his adjutant, Glek was still in a daze and didn't dare to move an inch.

"Am I that scary?" The adjutant found it somewhat amusing. How could this child be so timid? He was so nervous just seeing him. If he were to meet the marshal later, he probably wouldn't even be able to speak.

Glek had been waiting for his adjutant to speak to him first. He genuinely thought the adjutant had something to ask him, but the adjutant remained silent, making him even more hesitant to speak.

Hearing his adjutant speak to him, he became highly nervous: "It's not scary, adjutant. May I ask what brings you here?"

"No rush, we'll talk about it when we get there," the adjutant said. Shortly after, the hovercar landed in the courtyard of the Marshal's Mansion.

Glek followed his adjutant into the reception room, not daring to glance around, so he was unaware that he had entered the Marshal's mansion.

“Xize, is this the child?” Morris’s voice suddenly rang out.

"Yes, Marshal."

Upon hearing this, Glek abruptly looked up and, sure enough, saw a face he often saw on the interstellar network: "Marshal...?"

Glek's face was flushed red with excitement. Good heavens, he had actually seen the Marshal in person! He'd really made it big!

Morris noticed his unusual behavior and smiled amicably: "Greek, it's very presumptuous of me to invite you to the Marshal's Mansion. I have something I'd like to ask you in detail."

"Marshal, please ask me. I will answer everything I know." After meeting his idol, Glek lost all reason. Even if the marshal wanted to ask him when he last wet the bed, he would never scheme against him.

Morris was amused by his words; the boy was really funny.

"Actually, it's nothing serious. It's just that a new type of fruit has recently appeared on the market, and according to our investigation, it's somewhat related to you. Would you mind telling us where this fruit came from?"

This question made Glek extremely nervous, but he also felt that he was not capable of lying to the marshal.

"Is it very difficult?" Morris asked, softening his tone after seeing that he hadn't spoken for a while.

After considering it over, Glek decided to tell the whole story.

The interdimensional trading system is currently only useful to him for earning interstellar coins, but if he gains the favor of the marshal, his future may be limitless.

After figuring things out, Glek's tense body gradually relaxed, and he told everyone about the interdimensional trading system.

Morris found it incredible that there really were tools in the world that could travel through time.

He became very interested in the plane of existence in Glek's mouth that resembled ancient Earth, but he was more concerned with other issues than the delicious, all-natural food:

“Greek, can you trade some other items with the host of that plane? Such as soil, plants and animals, seeds, etc. These things may help us better study the ancient Earth.”
