Chapter 39 Wild Boar Weighing Over 1,000 Pounds

Liu Changmin closed his medical kit and looked at the Xia couple, saying, "I'll prescribe some medicine. Send someone with me to the clinic to get it."

Xia Heping immediately said, "I'll go, I'll go," and followed Liu Changmin out the door.

Xia Qingqing slowly opened her eyes. Before she could even feel grateful that she was still alive, she was immediately confronted with her mother's 'giant face'.

"Ah!!!" Xia Qingqing screamed in fright.

When Zhang Hongyan saw her daughter wake up, she cried with snot and tears streaming down her face: "My Qingqing, you almost scared your mother to death."

"You child, why didn't you come and call your parents when you had a fever? It's so dangerous for you to be soaking in the water tank all by yourself."

Gou Dan, who had been standing to the side, looked at Xia Qingqing with red eyes and said, "Sister, I was so scared."

Xia Qingqing didn't expect that she would fall asleep while soaking in the bath last night. Looking at her mother and younger brother's worried expressions, she felt a little guilty.

She nuzzled Zhang Hongyan's hand, which was resting by the bedside, and said, "Mom, it's all my fault. I was delirious with fever yesterday."

“You’re such a carefree child. If you’re not feeling well, you should have said so earlier. Why are you trying to tough it out?” Zhang Hongyan thought her daughter had been feeling unwell during the day but hadn’t told her because she didn’t want to worry her.

Xia Qingqing's eyes darted around for a moment, then she repeatedly assured her, "I will definitely tell you immediately if I feel unwell in the future."

"That's more like it. Are you hungry? I'll go steam some egg custard for you."

Before Xia Qingqing could stop her, her mother went out, and she could only awkwardly lower her raised hand.

"Sister, it's so nice to be sick. I wish I could be sick too," Gou Dan said with a hint of envy when he heard his mother making steamed eggs for Xia Qingqing again.

Sigh, it's his own fault for being so weak; he doesn't even catch a cold all year round.

Xia Qingqing almost laughed out of anger at his words, but then she thought that the child was only 7 years old. How could he not be envious when he saw his older sister eating steamed egg custard?

He smiled and waved to Gou Dan: "Come here."

Gou Dan scurried onto his sister's bed: "Sis, what's wrong? Is there anything you need me to do?"

Xia Qingqing pretended to reach under the pillow, but actually took out a fruit candy from the system's inventory and stuffed it into Gou Dan's mouth: "Shh, this is our secret."

Dog Egg squinted happily and mumbled in agreement, "I know, I won't tell Mom."

Xia Qingqing wasn't actually sick this time. After one night, the side effects of the medicine finally subsided, and she now feels great.

So when Zhang Hongyan brought over the steamed egg custard, Xia Qingqing only ate a couple of bites, and the rest went into Gou Dan's mouth.

At first, Gou Dan tried to refuse, saying that Xia Qingqing was sick and needed to eat something, and that he wasn't sick and didn't need to eat. His obedient appearance made Xia Qingqing feel even more sorry for him, and she insisted that he finish the steamed egg custard.

Seeing the harmonious and loving relationship between the two siblings, Zhang Hongyan smiled and did not stop them, but she steamed two bowls of egg custard the next day.

She earned some money by selling clothes, and her family was a little better off than before. It was just an egg, not that they couldn't afford it, but they were used to being frugal and hadn't changed their ways in time.

——

Zhang Hongyan told Xia Qingqing to rest well at home and told Gou Dan to take good care of her sister and not let her get out of bed, and then she went out to work.

Xia Qingqing was incredibly bored in bed and wanted to take some snacks she had bought on the black market from the system warehouse to pass the time, but then she realized something was wrong.

She found a huge wild boar and a bunch of wild fruits in her system inventory.

Xia Qingqing opened her mouth in shock. Her first thought was that Gu Yunshu had given it to her, but then she thought that Gu Yunshu herself didn't have anything to eat, so how could she possibly give her food?

There's only one possibility: it's the orc Ali.

Xia Qingqing looked at the wild boar, which weighed at least a thousand pounds, and swallowed hard. This boar could probably feed her for at least a year.

No, even if you eat two pounds a day, you couldn't finish it in a year.

To verify her hypothesis, Xia Qingqing sent Ali a video call invitation, which was quickly answered.

"Ali, did you send me the wild boar and the fruit in my system warehouse?"

Ali nodded憨憨憨地, and said happily, "Goddess, do you like it? This is a gift prepared by the leader to thank you for giving us the fire."

"Um, I really like it, thank you so much," Xia Qingqing said, feeling a little guilty as she thought about how she had traded a box of matches worth two cents for such a big pig and a couple hundred pounds of fruit.

Ali smiled even more when he heard that Xia Qingqing liked it: "I'm glad you like it. Our tribe doesn't have anything special. The chief personally led the tribe to hunt that wild boar, and the fruit was picked because it's the little females' favorite fruit."

"Please thank your chief and your people for me," Xia Qingqing felt she had to do something more for Ali and the others, otherwise her conscience wouldn't allow it.

Just then, when she went to buy matches, she saw that they were cheap, so she bought two big bags, each with 10 boxes, and sent them all to Ali.

"Ali, check your system inventory. I've sent you some more matches; hopefully they'll be useful."

Ali looked at the two large bags of tinder, grinning so hard you could see his gums. Before he could even answer Xia Qingqing, he cheered and ran off, shouting as he went:

"Chief, Chief, the goddess has sent us fire again."

Xia Qingqing sighed and rubbed her forehead. This guy really is a bit oblivious.

Fortunately, although Ali ran away, he did not disconnect the video call, so Xia Qingqing could follow him and see everything in the orc world.

Soon, Xia Qingqing saw the leader that Ali had mentioned. She had originally thought that the person who could be the leader must be a highly respected old man, but she was surprised.

The other person was half a head taller than Ali and had a more robust build. His eyes gave people a sense of oppression when he looked at them.

Xia Qingqing sighed, "No wonder he's a leader. He has an extraordinary aura and a natural-born ruler's presence."

Ali happily handed all the matches in his hand to the chief: "Chief, this is a new fire that the goddess has given me. There are so many of them! We won't have to worry about the fire going out anymore."

Kun, the leader of the Fierce Tiger Tribe, looked at the two large bags of matches in his hands, his expression somewhat excited. He patted Ali's tiger head encouragingly: "You did a great job. Remember to thank the goddess."

"Did the goddess like the gifts we gave her?"

Ali couldn't hide the pride on his face after receiving the chief's praise: "The goddess liked it very much. She said she wanted me to thank you and the people on her behalf."

Kun nodded, his impression of the goddess improving even more; the kind and gentle goddess deserved their respect.

“Since the goddess likes it, let’s hunt a few more for her. Ali, go and call the people to gather at my cave entrance.”
