Before I knew it, the once bright and sunny sky darkened.
The sky was overcast, and a light rain began to fall.
Guan Yuxi felt that she was filled with negative energy, a kind of ferocity that wanted to destroy the world at all costs!
The desolation of the curtain falling overshadowed the former glory, and the hypocritical response tarnished the steadfast faith.
When will this waiting end?
Time is both a cure and a poison.
It will dilute all pain and sorrow.
When time heals the wounds in her heart as her only relative, and she comes to terms with it, will anyone still remember him?
Does anyone remember his achievements, his sacrifices, his struggles and despair?
Will those three torn pages from the notebook ever see the light of day again?
"There will always be someone who remembers."
At least, we will not forget him, and our children and grandchildren will always remember him.
Leng Lie stepped forward and draped his coat over her shoulders.
It was summer, and the rain soaked us, though it was no longer chilly.
My hair and clothes were wet, but I still felt uncomfortable all over.
Guan Yuxi's empty gaze finally focused.
She looked at him, just looked at him.
Thick, long eyelashes could no longer hold back the weight of the tears.
Tears finally streamed down her face.
A silver lightning bolt ripped through the dark sky, and a thunderclap shattered the knot in her heart.
As the rain poured down, she finally arrived at Grandpa Guan's grave.
He knelt on the ground and wept bitterly.
Winter goes and spring comes, spring passes and summer returns, the grass on the grave has been pulled up several times, and this is the result we've been waiting for?
Leng Lie clenched his fists, but could only helplessly shed tears with her.
He wanted to hold her in his arms, cherish and pamper her, and tell her that he would never leave her in this life and would protect her in place of his grandfather.
But he knew, at this very moment.
She couldn't hear him; all she heard was the sound of faith crumbling and being rebuilt.
He couldn't alleviate her pain, so he tied a rope around her heart, pulling and twisting it, breaking her heart along with him.
A straw hat was placed over Guan Yuxi's head.
Another one landed on Leng Lie's head.
Immediately afterwards, one straw raincoat after another covered up Grandpa Guan's grave.
The torrential rain, like a curtain of pearls, separated the cold world outside.
Guan Yuxi raised her eyes and looked at the crowd who were just as sad as she was.
The deceased are gone, but the living will forever grieve.
The wind howled and the rain poured down relentlessly.
The dark clouds had been blown away, and the lightning and thunder had disappeared behind the clouds.
After the rain, the sky clears, and life must go on.
Guan Yuxi stood up, her legs and feet feeling numb.
Leng Lie helped her up.
She bowed deeply to the crowd.
Back home, Leng Lie boiled water and filled the bathtub.
When he finished cooking and came out, Guan Yuxi was already asleep in the bathtub.
Leng Lie gently carried her out, dried her off, and put her in bed.
***
Just before dawn, Guan Yuxi woke up.
She was woken up by hunger.
"You're awake? Would you like something to eat?"
Leng Lie rolled over and got up.
Guan Yuxi pushed him back, "I'll go cook, you can sleep a little longer."
She remembered falling asleep in the bathtub yesterday.
One look at Leng Lie's cold expression, and you could tell he had worried about her all night.
"The rice is keeping warm in the pot."
Leng Lie gave her some instructions, but still followed her, worried.
He scooped up a spoonful. "Luckily, it didn't spoil."
Guan Yuxi was deeply moved.
The firewood under the stove was still burning, and the mushroom porridge in the white porcelain bowl was kept warm in the water. The white rice, brown mushrooms, and dark green vegetables were a perfect match, and the aroma was irresistible and the sight was pleasing to the eye.
"Brother Lie, it's so good to have you."
She fed him the first spoonful of rice.
Leng Lie didn't want to eat, but he couldn't resist her expectant gaze, so he pursed his lips and took a sip.
Guan Yuxi forced another bite into his mouth, saying, "We can kiss all the time, so what's wrong with sharing a spoon?"
Leng Lie: "..."
Can the two be the same?
He was just afraid of getting the spoon dirty.
"I booked a room yesterday, but I don't know if I'll be able to stay tonight?"
Guan Yuxi devoured the porridge over the stove fire as quickly as possible.
Leng Lie, however, had little appetite.
I glanced at her every now and then, and only when I saw that her mood had indeed recovered did I feel a little relieved.
"It's okay, we don't lack that now."
He looked at her and said casually, "By the way, can I take that two thousand yuan from yesterday?"
Guan Yuxi pulled him back to the bedroom, opened the wardrobe, took out the money box, and stuffed all the money into his hands.
Leng Lie: "......"
He was a little nervous before he spoke.
Now, however, it's both laughable and frustrating.
"You don't need that much, two thousand yuan is enough!"
He put the money box back.
Guan Yuxi stopped him, "Money is only money when it's spent. If it's just sitting here, it's no different from waste paper."
Go ahead and do your own thing. It doesn't matter if you lose everything.
We should be able to make that kind of quick money two or three more times like yesterday....."
And you can earn more each time!
Otherwise, how could they have provoked those antique dealers to act desperately?
Seeing her insistence, Leng Lie gently took the money and solemnly said, "Don't worry, you won't lose out!"
Guan Yuxi smiled and shook her head, "Brother Lie, you didn't understand what I meant."
I hope you will spend all of this money.
Many things money can't buy, like ability!
She knew that Leng Lie had other identities besides being a military undercover agent.
