Being the center of attention, Leng Lie felt a little nervous.
Turning his head to meet Guan Yuxi's bright, sparkling eyes, that slight discomfort instantly vanished.
All he wanted was to hold her and go home, lie back in his warm bed, and open his heart and body to her.
"Leng Hongxing, do you think Chen Ergou and Leng Dachou are both dead?"
"What do you mean?"
"Leng Da Chou said you wanted to kill him and Chen Er Gou."
Leng Hongxing's expression changed instantly. "Nonsense! It was clearly him who wanted to kill Chen Ergou; I was just going along with it..."
Realizing he had almost let something slip, he glared angrily at Leng Lie, "You don't need to try to trick me with your words."
"Whether you or they want to kill each other, it's none of my business!"
Leng Lie stared at him, his dark eyes radiating a chilling coldness.
Leng Hongxing is shameless, and his ability to act shamelessly is top-notch.
But she set her sights on him like a venomous snake.
There's no such thing as being able to guard against thieves for a thousand days if you're a thief for a thousand days.
He has to beat him to death!
"If it has nothing to do with you, why would you go to the armed forces department to report it?"
You're not that fast, so how could you possibly be able to predict the future?
"You think I won't recognize your accomplices just because it's dark?"
His cold, sharp gaze was as sharp as a thin blade.
He walked to his side, a cool smile playing on his lips, and said softly:
"Leng Hongxing, do you think Xiaoxi would look down on a treacherous person like you?"
If you're a real man, you should bring your carriage and horses over openly.
What's the point of playing such a clumsy frame-up game?
Leng Hongxing felt a chill run down her spine.
He knew that Leng Lie harbored murderous intentions towards him.
He regretted his momentary carelessness in not killing Chen Ergou and Leng Dachou on the spot!
"So what?"
Leng Hongxing believed that those who helped him would not betray him.
He stiffened his neck and looked in Guan Yuxi's direction.
Guan Yuxi merely glanced at him indifferently before looking away.
Just then, the crowd parted to make way.
Leng Dachou was carried out, his eyes darting around.
Leng Lie looked at him, his eyes narrowed, and said in an ambiguous tone, "Leng Da Chou, I have heard you say more than once that Leng Hongxing wants to kill you."
Once, they chased wild boar cubs in a sorghum field; another time, they caught young pheasants in the wooded hillside.
Leng Da Chou was about to tell him he was talking nonsense.
I was stunned by the sights of "chasing wild boars" and "catching young pheasants".
He nodded haphazardly, "Yes, he wanted to kill me..."
Leng Hongxing didn't understand what Leng Lie was talking about.
He stormed forward, grabbed Leng Dachou by the neck, and yelled, "You're talking nonsense! When did I ever want to kill you?"
"Help! He's trying to kill me."
Leng Da Chou's face was filled with terror.
Two militiamen stepped forward and subdued Leng Hongxing, but he still struggled and refused to give up.
"Leng Lie, I will not let you get away with this!"
"Leng Da Chou, I've treated you well, why did you conspire with Leng Lie to frame me?"
"I refuse to accept this! You're all in cahoots! I'm going to petition higher authorities, I'm going to the county government, I'm going to the capital to sue you!"
Minister Zhao stepped forward and slapped him twice.
"Leng Hongxing, watch your mouth."
Don't fucking think you're the only one with a brain. I'll make you admit defeat!
"I want to see my father. You have no right to take me away!"
"Let my dad come. He can prove I didn't lay a hand on them."
As soon as Leng Hongxing spoke.
The atmosphere at the scene immediately quieted down.
The silence was eerily quiet.
Leng Lie was also completely baffled.
Guan Yuxi nodded slightly to him, indicating that they would talk about it when they got back.
"What's wrong? What happened to my dad?"
Leng Hongxing also sensed that something was wrong and panicked.
On a normal day, how could his father, as the village chief, possibly be absent?
"Leng Lie, is that you?"
What did you do to my dad?
Leng Hongxing's eyes widened in anger. The only thing he could think of was that Leng Lie was going after his father in order to get revenge on him.
Guan Yuxi could no longer hold back and walked up to him, saying, "Leng Hongxing, it's your own fault for being so stubborn and going against Leng Lie."
"You should ask your grandma and stepmother about your family's affairs yourself."
"What's wrong with my family? What's wrong with my dad?"
"Xiaoxi, please tell me, okay?"
Leng Hongxing was extremely anxious and looked at her with a pleading expression.
Guan Yuxi twitched her lips and said, "I'm going to see Leng Lie tonight."
I didn't witness what happened in your family myself, so the rumors I've heard can't be taken as fact."
Leng Hongxing's gaze swept across the crowd.
He was met with looks of disdain and disgust from the crowd.
"Bah! You still have the nerve to ask? Your whole family is licentious and shameless!"
"As expected, if the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too. What good children and grandchildren can a woman like that old hag raise?"
"They should really be expelled from the family to save face for my Leng family ancestors."
"No wonder the old hag was widowed at such a young age and refused to remarry; she was using her son to impersonate a man."
"It's a disgrace that such an immoral and unethical person could have served as our village chief for over ten years!"

Leng Hongxing listened to each heart-wrenching word.
I understand each word and phrase individually, but what do they mean when put together?
He stared blankly at Guan Yuxi.
Guan Yuxi sighed almost imperceptibly.
She turned around, grabbed Leng Lie, and left.
This is no longer their concern.
Chen Ergou is still not awake.
Leng Da Chou then directly confessed that it was Leng Hongxing who wanted to kill them.
The truth remains to be seen, pending further investigation by Minister Zhao.
