Chapter 416: Not the Ideal Daughter-in-Law

Jiao Junming only listened to other people's private affairs and did not discuss them. He discussed with her: "Mom, I think the old lady of the Wang family is very reasonable. She also cares about her son's future and work. She seems to be a little dissatisfied with the two sisters of the Tian family. Why don't you take some time to talk to her and ask the Wang family to send Tian Mei back to her hometown."

Han Bingyu thought about it and nodded: "Okay, the two sisters just came to deliver food, I'll sit here with you and go talk to the old lady later."

As soon as she finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Jiao Junming thought it was the nurse knocking on the door, so he immediately cleared the lunch box on the table, but it was Xiaotian who pushed the door open.

Xiaotian pushed the door open with a shy smile, and when she saw Han Bingyu still there, her smile froze: "Director Han, you are here too."

Seeing that it was her, Jiao Junming frowned, "Comrade Tian Mei, is there something wrong?"

"Uh, Dr. Jiao, I came to ask if you want to wash your lunch box. I'll wash it for you." Oda quickly found an excuse.

"No, I'll wash it myself."

Jiao Junming hadn't finished his noodles yet. He gave his mother a look and lowered his head to continue eating.

Han Bingyu's eyes were cold, and her tone when speaking to Tian Mei was also cold: "Comrade Tian Mei, I won't bother you with my son's affairs. He can do the dishes himself."

"Oh, okay, you guys are busy, I won't disturb you."

Xiaotian quickly closed the door. She was no longer polite. She had just noticed that Director Han looked at her with displeasure, and she felt a little regretful that she had come here in such a hurry. Now she hurried to the ward to find her sister.

"Junming, continue eating. I'll go outside and talk to the head nurse." Han Bingyu got up, opened the door and went out.

The Tian sisters came out of the ward not long after. When they passed by Jiao Junming's office, they took a look inside and saw Han Bingyu was still there, as well as two nurses, who seemed to be talking about work. They didn't want to disturb them, so they took their lunch boxes and went back first.

“Bang, bang!”

After Han Bingyu finished talking about work, she came to find Old Lady Wang and knocked on the ward door before entering.

"Director Han, why are you here?" Old Mrs. Wang had just finished her meal and was drinking water. She smiled when she saw her.

"Aunt, are you feeling better?" Han Bingyu asked with a polite smile.

"I'm feeling better now. The pain is gone after taking the medicine. My son will come tomorrow morning to complete the discharge procedures so I can be discharged and go home before the New Year."

"There's an old saying that it takes a hundred days to heal a broken bone. Although your injury isn't as serious as a fracture, your body's ability to recover isn't as good as that of young people as it is now. You should rest well at home for a month or so, and don't fall again." Han Bingyu reminded him habitually.

"Well, I'll listen to you. I'll go back and have a good rest."

Old Lady Wang responded, guessing she had something to ask. After all, she wasn't a surgeon. She smiled and asked, "Director Han, is there something wrong?"

"I have something to tell you."

She was the only one living in this ward. The other patients had been discharged long ago, so Han Bingyu didn't need to be shy about being around outsiders. She stated her purpose directly: "Aunt, you and Uncle Wang have lived in your son's house for several years. You must have heard about my personality. I speak directly and don't like to beat around the bush. If I say something that makes you feel uncomfortable, please don't be so polite to me."

"Director Han, don't say that. If you have something to say, just say it."

Old Mrs. Wang was worried that something had happened to her son. She looked worried and asked, "Did my eldest son make a mistake?"

"No, no, Captain Wang works diligently and responsibly and performs excellently. What I want to say has nothing to do with him." Han Bingyu hurriedly comforted him.

It wasn't about her son, so Old Lady Wang felt relieved and quickly asked, "Director Han, what are you trying to say?"

"I want to tell you about Tian Mei."

Old Lady Wang frowned: "Tian Mei? What do you want to talk about her?"

"She's been using the opportunity of bringing you food to get close to my son lately. She often rushes into his office without proper etiquette, disrupting his normal work."

Han Bingyu paused here. Seeing that Old Lady Wang frowned deeply, as if she didn't know about these things, she sighed and said, "Aunt, you are clear-headed and clear-sighted. Living under the same roof with Tian Mei, you should know her character and morals better than I do. I'll tell you the truth, Tian Mei is not my ideal daughter-in-law, and Junming has no special feelings for her. I hope she won't bother him again and affect his work."

She spoke very bluntly, and Old Lady Wang looked a little embarrassed. "Director Han, I will definitely discipline her when I get back and explain your intentions to them."

"Aunt, thank you for your hard work."

Han Bingyu thanked him first, then said, "Aunt, now that things have come to this, I'll say a few more words."

"It wasn't easy for Captain Wang to get to where he is today. His military honors were earned at the cost of his life. Only he knows the blood and sweat behind it. You, as his parents, may not know. He went from being a soldier with no background to fighting his way to his current position. It's truly not easy."

"Given his abilities and age, if he doesn't have someone holding him back, he might be able to move up in the future. But if there's someone holding him back at home, someone might exploit his influence to undermine his reputation outside of the military, causing dissatisfaction among the military district leaders and their families. Then, the one who would be most affected would undoubtedly be Captain Wang."

Old Lady Wang's heart skipped a beat. Her hands, which were resting on the quilt, trembled. She looked a little flustered. "Director Han, I, I understand. Thank you very much. Thank you for reminding me."

"Aunt, I won't go into detail about some things. Please have a good talk with Uncle Wang, Captain Wang."

Seeing that she had listened, Han Bingyu felt relieved and stood up. "You have a good rest. I'm leaving first."

"Hey, Director Han, take care."

Not long after she left, Old Lady Wang quickly called a familiar nurse over and asked her to run some errands around the house so that her husband and son could come to the hospital immediately.

Director Han is Commander Han's sister and a senior leader of the military hospital. Old Mrs. Wang dared not ignore her warning just now. Her son is the pride of their Wang family, and his career prospects cannot afford to go wrong. So when they came over, she immediately talked seriously about Tian Mei's matter.

Captain Wang usually doesn't care about family matters and devotes himself to his work. His sister-in-law usually behaves well and sensible at home. He has no idea that she is looking for a rich husband outside.

Now, after hearing his mother talk about it, he learned that she had changed four or five targets in the past six months, and all of them were the sons of the commander, political commissar, and division commander. He was so angry that his face turned ashen, "Mom, why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"I didn't know at first. When she came here, your father and I went back to our hometown for a month. When we came here again, Tian Fang said someone was trying to find a match for Tian Mei. She was often out and about, and I always thought she was trying to get along with the man. I even asked her about her situation, and she lied and said the man was good, but she hadn't confirmed anything yet."
