Zhong Wanwan gritted her teeth, made up her mind, and risked being exposed. She picked an off-road vehicle from the space and drove it out of the space.
The wolf pack that had been guarding Zhong Wanwan thought victory was in sight!
One more time. If that skinny human ever shows up again, they're guaranteed to bite her to death.
The result was that the ideal was very full, but the reality was very skinny. The woman came out in a big iron machine with a rumble.
The wolves had no time to dodge and were knocked down one by one.
Zhong Wanwan had no choice. She didn't want to be exposed, and she tried her best to avoid them, but a few unlucky wolves still crashed into her car!
Fortunately, she didn't run them over, and the wolves weren't killed. But looking at their hind legs, she realized that they were going to be paralyzed!
Zhong Wanwan made her way out of the mountain pass with a rumble, and thanks to the wolves' inability to catch up, she quickly returned to her space with her vehicle.
When she came out again, Zhong Wanwan's cotton-padded jacket and trousers were tattered beyond recognition.
Fortunately, the crowd was tight, so there were no serious injuries, but they still looked quite disheveled and covered in dust.
There was no other way. She wasn't trying to play the victim, but she had been chased by so many wolves and had paralyzed several of them. She couldn't very well appear glamorous and unscathed!
Running down the mountain, Zhong Wanwan headed straight for Director Wei's house.
…………
The Wei family, including the farm manager, were restless last night. Before going to bed, Aunt Wei was clutching her chest and muttering to the farm manager:
"Boss, are you alright going up the mountain? My heart is pounding so hard, I'm so worried! I hope nothing bad has happened to you!"
Director Wei felt much the same way as Aunt Wei, but he couldn't say it. He turned his back to Aunt Wei, not wanting her to see his worried expression, and spoke impatiently:
"You're just worrying about nothing all day. When has the boss ever not gone up the mountain? When has something ever happened? Besides, there are so many people around. You're just scaring yourself!"
Aunt Wei thought about it and realized that what the old man said made sense. Although she still felt a tightness in her chest, she managed to comfort herself and finally fell asleep.
Aunt Wei was asleep, but Director Wei hadn't slept a wink all night because he was worried. He was just starting to feel sleepy as dawn broke.
Just as my upper and lower eyelids were struggling to stay open, I heard a loud knocking on the door.
As if by reflex, Director Wei jumped up from the kang (a heated brick bed), not even bothering to put on his cotton-padded coat, and went to open the door in his slippers.
As soon as the door opened and he saw the disheveled Zhong Wanwan, Director Wei felt his heart stop beating. He said in a trembling voice:
"Master Zhong, why are you back? Where is the rest of the hunting team?"
Zhong Wanwan touched her face and choked up as she said:
"Director Wei, hurry to the commune and find a solution! We've encountered a pack of wolves on the mountain, a total of 194 wolves, and they've surrounded the hunting team!"
"I was the first to rush out because there were the fewest wolves guarding under my tree, so I risked coming down the mountain to report the news!"
Farm Manager Wei was so frightened he couldn't speak. After a long while, he finally found his voice and said:
"Was anyone injured? Did the leader risk climbing down the tree?"
No one knows a son better than his father. Director Wei knows his brother's personality, and as the team leader, he would definitely take responsibility in this situation.
Zhong Wanwan shook her head and said:
"I didn't have any before I left, but it's hard to say now. Director Wei, let's hurry to the commune to find someone to go up the mountain!"
Zhong Wanwan did not hear what Brother Wei had said about finding the garrison. She thought it was the commune that would step in and have the police station send out officers.
