Lin Zhiheng suddenly remembered that he hadn't had time to write to He Lanlan since he started training.
"Sister, I'm going to write a letter to Lanlan."
"Okay, go ahead."
Lin Zhiheng returned to his room. Because he was usually a man of few words, he didn't know what to write to He Lanlan. In addition, the military strictly censored incoming and outgoing mail, so he couldn't write many things directly in the letter.
He finished writing the letter quickly; it only had five or six sentences.
Basically, I asked how the other person was doing, told them that I was training here and everything was going smoothly, and then that was it.
Not long after, a man carrying a fishing rod came in from outside; it was Dong Yue.
After he came in, he greeted Lu Zhengting and Lin Qingyan. He couldn't help but look at Lin Qingyan a few more times when he saw her.
Seeing him like this, Lu Zhengting's mood immediately soured again. He smiled at Dong Yue on the surface, but his smile was no better than his tears. If you looked closely, his eyes seemed to be filled with countless shards of ice.
What's this guy doing at his house? And he keeps glancing at his wife. I really want to kick him out right now.
So, he said to Dong Yue with "good intentions," "Hey, Comrade Dong, you're going fishing with that fishing rod, right? You'd better hurry up, we don't have much rest time to begin with, if you delay any longer, you might not be able to catch any fish today."
Dong Yue sensed something, but he subconsciously ignored it.
This is probably what it means to be open and honest. He had nothing to hide, so naturally, he didn't notice Lu Zhengting's hostility towards him.
He smiled and said, "I'm going fishing, but I'm also going to invite Lin Zhiheng. Fishing alone is too boring, so I want him to come with me."
When Lin Qingyan heard him say he wanted to go fishing, images of sweet and sour fish, braised fish, and stir-fried fish immediately popped into her mind. She also wanted to take a stroll by the river. If Lin Zhiheng could catch any fish, she would cook fish for lunch.
She discussed with Lu Zhengting, "Zhengting, they went fishing, why don't we go too? I saw a fishing rod among the things you packed from your dorm before, do you used to go fishing often?"
"I used to go there occasionally."
“We happen to have fishing gear, let’s go with Comrade Dong.”
Lu Zhengting felt extremely uncomfortable whenever his wife mentioned Dong Yue.
But he didn't want to spoil his wife's mood, so he agreed, "Okay."
Lin Qingyan turned around to get her fishing rod. Dong Yue went to Lin Zhiheng's room to find him. After Lin Zhiheng came out, neither of them could smell the strong scent of jealousy emanating from Lu Zhengting.
Lin Qingyan took out Lu Zhengting's fishing rod, then went to the kitchen to get bait and a small wooden bucket.
He said to Lu Zhengting, "Let's go quickly. I'll watch you fish for a while, and then bring back a fish you caught so we can cook it for lunch."
He then called Dong Yue and Lin Zhiheng, and said to Dong Yue, "Comrade Dong, why don't you have lunch here too? Xiao Heng hasn't been back for a long time, so I'm going to cook him a big lunch. Let's eat together."
"How could I possibly accept that?" Dong Yue smiled shyly.

"Alright then, I'll gladly accept your offer."
Lu Zhengting, standing to the side with a dark expression, thought to himself: I think you were already planning to comply anyway.
They prepared what they needed for fishing and set off quickly.
The river is about two miles away from the residential compound, which only takes about ten minutes to walk. Perhaps because it was a day off, when they arrived, there were already several people fishing by the river.
They found a quiet spot, and Lu Zhengting and Dong Yue sat down to fish.
Lin Qingyan said to Lin Zhiheng, "I heard that earthworms are very good as fish bait. Let's go catch some earthworms for them."
"Sure."
They went to a place where the soil was relatively moist and each of them caught about ten earthworms. Lin Qingyan gave the ones she caught to Lu Zhengting, and Lin Zhiheng gave the ones he caught to Dong Yue.
Lu Zhengting and Dong Yue sat on the riverbank, about ten meters apart. At first, their fishing hooks were still, and the floats on the water did not react at all.
Just over ten minutes later, Dong Yue reacted. After seeing the float bobbing, Dong Yue quickly pulled up the fishing line and actually pulled up a big carp that was violently thrashing its tail.
Dong Yue pulled the carp to the ground, removed the fishhook from its mouth, and gave the fish to Lin Qingyan.
"We can eat it at noon."
Lin Qingyan took the fish that was still thrashing around: "I was planning to cook fish for lunch. I wonder what kind of fish Comrade Dong likes to eat."
"Anything is fine with me, just do whatever you like."
"Alright, how about braised fish?"
"OK."
With nothing to do, Zhou Qingqing strolled aimlessly along the riverbank with her friend Zhao Mei from the performing arts troupe. They happened to see Dong Yue and Lin Qingyan together. Although Lu Zhengting was also there, it didn't stop her from continuing to connect Dong Yue and Lin Qingyan.
This further confirmed in her mind that Dong Yue coveted a married woman. She stood by the river with a venomous look in her eyes, staring intently at them.
After catching his first fish, Dong Yue handed the fishing rod to Lin Zhiheng, saying, "Comrade Lin, why don't you try fishing for a while? Maybe you can catch a bigger one."
Lin Zhiheng took the fishing rod, sat in the spot where Dong Yue had been, put an earthworm on the hook, and cast it into the water.
To avoid disturbing Lin Zhiheng's fishing, Dong Yue stood far away and chatted with Lin Qingyan, which distracted Lu Zhengting, who would occasionally glance in their direction.
