Chapter 363 Married Woman

"Mom, I didn't kick you out. I was just worried you wouldn't be used to living here. It would definitely be better back in Beijing."

"How do you know I'm not used to it? Did I tell you I'm not used to living here?" Fang Huilan spoke in the tone of a mother-in-law lecturing her son-in-law.

Lin Sisi didn't want Fang Huilan to leave either. "Mingzhou, my mom hasn't been here for more than a few days. I want her to stay here a little longer and spend more time with me. You have to go to work every day and don't have time to spend with me. You have no idea how bored I am at home."

"Then I'll find you a job."

"Me." Lin Sisi didn't want to go to work. Work was too tiring and would interfere with her treatment. "Mingzhou, okay, my mom wants to leave, I won't stop her."

Fang Huilan became anxious. "Do you all want me to leave? Am I that disliked by you? Mingzhou, are you afraid I'll eat your food? As your mother-in-law, I married you my daughter, whom I carried for ten months and raised with great difficulty. Can't I eat a little bit of your food?"

Seeing that she was speaking in a bad tone, Gu Mingzhou stopped trying to hide it.

"Do you think I care about your daughter? If you don't want to marry her to me, then take her away now, and I won't say a word to stop you."

Lin Sisi grabbed Gu Mingzhou, "Mingzhou, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

Gu Mingzhou: "This is all your and your mother's doing. You two argued with Qingyan at the bus stop the other day, and now everyone knows that your mother abused Qingyan in the past. You've embarrassed me. You've let everyone know what kind of people my wife and mother-in-law are. I feel so proud, don't I? What will people think of me when I go out?"

Fang Huilan and Lin Sisi then realized the reason for his anger.

She didn't blame Gu Mingzhou at this point. "Fine, I'll leave then. But I was just concerned about Qingyan, I didn't mean to argue with her. Don't argue with Sisi over this either, it has nothing to do with Sisi."

“There weren’t so many problems when you weren’t here, but things get messy when you come. It’ll be peaceful once you leave,” Gu Mingzhou said.

But what Lin Sisi was thinking was that Gu Mingzhou was protecting Lin Qingyan, and that he was driving away his mother for Lin Qingyan's sake.

After Fang Huilan agreed to leave, Gu Mingzhou was no longer so angry.

“Mom, harmony in the family is the most important thing. I don’t want to argue with you unless it’s necessary. Pack your things and leave after breakfast tomorrow. Once you’re gone, it will save the other family members from seeing you and talking about you, which will make you feel uncomfortable.”

They had just finished arguing when Zheng Jianming walked in. The first thing he did upon entering the room was to look at Lin Sisi.

Ever since the day he visited Gu Mingzhou's house and accidentally touched Lin Sisi's hand, he has been thinking about Lin Sisi day and night.

He came a few more times, almost always for Lin Sisi, hoping to catch a glimpse of her and, even better, run into her again.

Although he knew the military regulations were strict, he just couldn't control himself.

Besides, he had no intention of making a lewd move on Lin Sisi, so no one would know his purpose.

Lin Sisi met his gaze and took the initiative to speak, "Brother Zheng is here."

"Oh, I need to talk to Mingzhou about something."

After greeting Fang Huilan, he started chatting with Gu Mingzhou and didn't leave until an hour later.

Fang Huilan left the next morning.

Xu Xinning had been keeping an eye on Lin Sisi's movements. After lunch, she came to find Lin Sisi, but didn't see Fang Huilan, so she asked, "Where's Auntie? I haven't seen her."

"My mom took the train back to her hometown this morning," Lin Sisi told her.

Xu Xinning was overjoyed. With Fang Huilan gone, her plan could now be put into action.

She sat down and said to Lin Sisi, "Sisi, before Auntie left, she told me that after she was gone, I should come and keep you company more often. I'm working every day and I'm getting bored in the hospital. How about we go to the mountains tomorrow? I've never been up a mountain since I came here, and I really want to go see the mountains here."

Lin Sisi felt even more stifled at home than Xu Xinning was at work, so she immediately agreed, "Okay, when shall we go tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow afternoon, then. There are usually fewer patients in the afternoon, so it's easier to ask for leave."

"Okay, then it's settled."

"Um."

Xu Xinning's gaze quickly swept across Lin Sisi's neck. Lin Sisi, starting tomorrow, that jade pendant will no longer be yours.

As soon as Xu Xinning returned to the hospital in the afternoon, she went to the hospital director in advance to ask for leave for the next afternoon.

"If there are no emergencies to deal with tomorrow afternoon, you can rest."

"Thank you, Dean."

In the evening, when Dong Yue was returning to his dormitory after get off work, Zhou Qingqing suddenly came over and stopped him.

"Comrade Dong Yue."

Dong Yue thought she was going to pester him about dating again, so he tried to avoid her.

"Comrade Zhou Qingqing, I have things to do back in my dormitory, so I can't chat with you anymore. I'm leaving now."

“Comrade Dong Yue,” Zhou Qingqing stopped him again, “I’m not here today to pester you to date me. I want to talk to you about something else.”

"What is it?" Dong Yue frowned slightly, feeling that he and Zhou Qingqing shouldn't have anything in common.

Zhou Qingqing deliberately glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby before whispering to Dong Yue, "Comrade Dong Yue, I've noticed you've been getting quite close to Battalion Commander Lu's wife these past few days. No matter how beautiful or capable she is, she's still a married woman. I want to advise you, for the sake of your future, please don't make any mistakes. Even if you're interested in her, you can't compete with Battalion Commander Lu. You know the serious consequences of ruining a military marriage and acting like a hooligan."
