She picked it up and looked at it; the syringe had no needle.
She wondered why someone would leave a syringe here, since syringes are usually only kept in hospitals.
Because syringes are related to doctors, she immediately thought of Xu Xinning.
But why did Xu Xinning bring a syringe up the mountain?
So she gave up on the idea.
Gu Mingzhou walked quickly ahead, and seeing that she wasn't moving, he didn't even turn his head. "If you're going to dawdle, then go down the mountain by yourself."
"Brother Mingzhou, wait for me." She dropped the syringe and caught up with Gu Mingzhou.
Afterwards, just like when she went up the mountain, she clung tightly to Gu Mingzhou's arm, claiming that she was afraid.
Gu Mingzhou said impatiently, "Lin Sisi, did you lose anything? You didn't call me up here for some other reason, did you?"
"No, no, I have no other purpose. I just want you to help me find the jade pendant."
Lin Sisi felt that she and Gu Mingzhou had been sharing a bed for more than a month, and he would not refuse her intimate gestures when they were together. She wondered if he had developed feelings for her.
"Mingzhou, I want to ask you a question. Do you have feelings for me or not?"

Lin Sisi shut her mouth in disappointment.
After they returned home and closed the gate, Gu Mingzhou rinsed himself with cold water in the yard. Since there was no separate bathroom in the house, Lin Sisi felt uncomfortable wiping herself in the yard, so she brought the basin of water inside.
After she took off all her clothes and wiped her body with a towel dampened with warm water, she suddenly noticed a small red dot on the outside of her left thigh. She looked at it carefully under the light for a while and realized that the small red dot was a tiny scab on the skin, much like a mark left by an injection.
She didn't get any injections, so how could she have any marks on her body?
But she couldn't figure out why there was a small scab there. She felt nothing when she touched it lightly, but it actually hurt a little when she pressed it harder, almost like she had a shot.
Because the thought of injections reminded her of the syringe she had found on the mountain, and also of Xu Xinning.
Xu Xinning, the syringe, small scars on her body that look like needle marks, and the loss of her jade pendant today.
What exactly is the connection between these two things?
Suppose she connects all these conditions: Xu Xinning had a syringe and gave her an injection. What was the purpose? What kind of medicine was given? And how can this be connected to the loss of the jade pendant?
She suddenly remembered that Xu Xinning had asked her about the jade pendant that day.
Could it be that Xu Xinning coveted her jade pendant and therefore wanted to take it away?
Recalling yesterday when Xu Xinning invited her up the mountain, today when they were on the mountain, she wanted to cross the slippery slope, but Xu Xinning wanted to pick fruit, causing them both to fall down the slope.
Then she hit her head on a rock. Although she was dizzy, she did not completely lose consciousness. Later, her head felt very heavy, and she quickly fell asleep.
When she woke up, Xu Xinning was sleeping next to her, and it looked as if she had also been unconscious.
If Xu Xinning truly coveted her jade pendant, then the other party must have already planned how to steal it. She then realized that she had been caught in the other party's trap all along.

She moved her lips again, but Gu Mingzhou silenced her with a kiss. After they finished, Gu Mingzhou simply rolled over and went to sleep.
She slowly drifted off to sleep.
Lin Sisi was too tired during the day and had to work too hard at night. When she woke up, Gu Mingzhou was no longer on the kang (a heated brick bed).
She got up and made some breakfast, and after eating, she went to the hospital to see Xu Xinning.
She went straight to Xu Xinning's office. Xu Xinning was slightly surprised to see her come in, because it wasn't the day to prescribe medicine for Lin Sisi yet.
Seeing the other person's gloomy face, she immediately sensed something was wrong.
Did Lin Sisi begin to have doubts about what happened yesterday?
She smiled at Lin Sisi and said, "Sisi, why did you come today? You probably haven't finished your medicine at home. I'll check you over after you finish it and prescribe more medicine based on your condition."
Lin Sisi sat down opposite her with a cold face and asked directly, "Xu Xinning, I'm asking you, did you take my jade pendant yesterday?"
Xu Xinning feigned a bewildered and innocent look: "Sisi, what did you say? You lost your jade pendant? How did you lose your jade pendant?"
"Stop pretending, just tell me, did you take my jade pendant?"
Lin Sisi knew it was stupid of her to ask that question, and she figured Xu Xinning wouldn't admit it.
Xu Xinning shook her head: "Sisi, you've got it wrong. You must be too anxious because you can't find your jade pendant. I didn't take your jade pendant. By the way, wasn't it just an ordinary thing? Even if you can't find it, don't be too sad."
"How is that jade pendant ordinary?" Lin Sisi was a little agitated. "My mother-in-law gave it to me. I lost it, and I can't explain it to her."
