The two were chatting and laughing when they saw Lin Qingyan pushing her bicycle back. They looked at the sun high in the sky together; it was still a long time before they got off work.
Seeing them all smiles, Lin Qingyan propped up her bicycle and asked, "Grandpa, Grandma, what are you talking about? You seem to be having a great time."
"It's nothing, it's nothing. I was just telling you about the bugs in this vegetable garden. They're quite fat and big. If we catch them all, they won't be able to eat the vegetables," Grandpa Dong replied.
Grandma Lin asked Lin Qingyan, "Girl, it's not time to get off work yet, why are you back early?"
"Oh dear, are you tired from seeing so many patients today? Sit down and rest for a while," said Grandpa Dong.
Lin Qingyan took a stool and sat down next to them: "Grandma, Grandpa. I came back specifically to talk to you about something."
Master Dong asked first, "What is it? Tell me."
“I already know where that phoenix jade pendant is, and I want my grandparents to come with me to get it.”
Grandma Lin and Grandpa Dong were both surprised. Grandma Lin said, "Girl, just tell me where you are."
"Today, Lin Sisi told me that the jade pendant is with Xin Ning. Originally, the jade pendant returned to Lin Sisi's hands, but Xin Ning found a way to take it away from her. Grandma, although Xin Ning is my sister, this jade pendant has a different meaning for us, and I want to get it back."

The military hospital was a bit far from the family compound. Lin Qingyan only had one bicycle, so she simply rode it herself and let her mother-in-law sit in front and her grandfather Dong sit behind.
Grandma Lin felt very embarrassed.
"You're such a grown-up, yet you act like a child. If people see you sitting in the front, won't they laugh at you?"
Master Dong laughed and said, "Before you regained your memory, you always rode on my shoulders and asked me to carry you out to play. You've been laughed at countless times. Are you afraid of this time?"
Grandma Lin almost blushed with embarrassment: "I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me." How awkward it would be for her to see those acquaintances when she returned to Beijing.

As she spoke, she sat on the front bar of the bicycle. After Grandpa Dong sat down behind her, they set off together to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, they went directly to Xu Xinning's office.
Xu Xinning was very surprised to see them arrive together.
"Grandma, Grandpa, Sister. Did you all come to see me because you need something?" She had a bad feeling.
Grandma Lin glanced at Grandpa Dong, and then Grandpa Dong spoke.
"Xinning, you should have a phoenix jade pendant, right? It belongs to Qingyan. Give it to her."
Xu Xinning's heart skipped a beat. How did Old Master Dong know about this?
Lin Qingyan said, "Xinning, Lin Sisi told me that the jade pendant is with you. That jade pendant was given to my mother by my maternal grandmother. Please return it to me."
Xu Xinning was very resentful and didn't want to return the jade pendant to Lin Qingyan.
Although the jade pendant could no longer serve as a token for Lin Qingyan and the Dong family to recognize each other as relatives, the more Lin Qingyan cared about something, the less she wanted Lin Qingyan to have it.
"I..." She tried to lie, saying that she didn't know where the jade pendant was and that Lin Sisi was framing her.
Before she could finish speaking, Old Master Dong interjected, "Xinning, you didn't know it belonged to Qingyan before. If you had known it was hers, you would have given it to Qingyan long ago, right?"
Xu Xinning had lived in the Dong family's house for so long and often went into his study, so she must have seen the photo on his desk and knew the relationship between the jade pendant and his daughter and granddaughter. Yet, after obtaining the jade pendant, she deliberately kept it a secret from them.
Seeing their confident demeanor, and knowing that Old Master Dong was wholeheartedly helping Lin Qingyan, Xu Xinning realized that if she didn't return the jade pendant to Lin Qingyan, she would likely ruin her relationship with them.
It's really not worth falling out with Master Dong over a useless jade pendant.
“Grandpa, Grandma, Sister, the jade pendant is indeed with me. I found it on the mountain. At first, I thought it looked a bit like the one Auntie wore around her neck. I’ve always thought that jade pendant was beautiful and wanted to have one just like it. I thought the two jade pendants looked similar just a coincidence, and I didn’t know it was the one Auntie wore. The jade pendant is in my dormitory. I’m worried that a patient might come later, so I’ll bring it to my sister after I get off work.”
Since she had already said she was willing to hand over the jade pendant, the other three couldn't force her to take it now.
"Okay, I'll pick it up after get off work then," Lin Qingyan agreed.
Just then, a pregnant woman with a large belly entered. Xu Xinning was about to examine her, so Lin Qingyan and the other two said goodbye to her.
"Xiao Ning, you're busy, we'll go first," said Grandpa Dong.
