Chapter 292 The Last Meeting

Outside the door

Liu Xiangrong glared at Yi Mingjun fiercely, "Is that all you've got? An old lady could beat you out of there."

Yi Mingjun rubbed his back, which was sore from being slapped. "I think that old lady is trained; she hit her pretty hard. Besides, I couldn't retaliate in front of Xiao Heng. If I hit the old lady, would they let me back in?"

He opened the car door and let Liu Xiangrong get in, to prevent their conversation from being overheard by the person inside.

After closing the car door, he said, "Xiao Heng doesn't want to come with us right now, so let's be more patient and come to see him more often to get to know him better. He's just a kid, so we'll wait a while. Once he's more comfortable with us, we can take him with us."

"How long will it take to get along with him? Honestly, my Jin'er is still waiting for me in the capital. I have to spend every day with this jinx and leave Jin'er alone. Just thinking about how Jin'er is suffering makes my heart ache."

“There’s nothing we can do about it,” Yi Mingjun comforted his wife. “We’re doing this for Jin’er’s sake. We don’t want Jin’er to continue suffering in the future, so we can only rely on this boy.”

He had originally intended to call Lin Zhiheng "Xiao Heng," but after Lin Zhiheng rejected him, he, like Liu Xiangrong, developed a sense of disgust towards Lin Zhiheng.

That brat is ungrateful; he doesn't want a son like that. The only value of that brat is to be Jin'er's blood bag.

Seeing that it was getting late, Liu Xiangrong asked, "Where should we go now?"

“Let’s go to the county guesthouse.” Yi Mingjun suddenly thought of something: “That kid is an educated youth. If we want to take him back, we have to get him a return ticket.”

He slapped his forehead. "Why didn't I think of that? If I had told him we could help him get back to the city, wouldn't he have obediently come with us?"

"Then let's go tell him now."

Yi Mingjun looked at the two tightly closed doors and said, "Let's do it tomorrow. Things got a bit unpleasant today, so they might not let us in again. We'll bring them some things when we come from the county town tomorrow, and tell that kid about our trip back to the city."

"Alright, that's the only way."

Inside the door

After Yi Mingjun and Liu Xiangrong left, Lin Zhiheng, after enduring intense mental torment, finally couldn't help but squat down and silently shed tears.

Lin Qingyan felt almost as if she could empathize with him when she saw him, a boy, shedding tears.

After all, they were his parents, whom he had been separated from for more than ten years, and whom he had longed for for more than ten years. They suddenly appeared in front of him, wanting to reunite with him.

How many orphaned children wouldn't want to reunite with their parents? Who would want to have an unpleasant encounter with their biological parents the moment they meet?

Men, cry, it's not a sin.

Xiao Heng is still just a minor.

Lin Qingyan didn't try to persuade him, nor did she let her mother-in-law disturb him.

Let him release his pent-up emotions on his own.

Outside the door

Shen Mengya came here secretly, specifically to see the commotion at Lin Qingyan's place and to witness Lin Qingyan's suffering.

When she arrived, she found that Lin Qingyan's house was tightly closed. She listened outside the door but couldn't hear any sound from inside.

She knew that the Yi family was a prominent family in Beijing, and that they would probably drive here if they were coming.

She didn't see any car, so she guessed the Yi family hadn't arrived yet. She'd come back tomorrow morning to check again.

The next morning, while Lin Qingyan, Lin's mother-in-law, and Lin Zhiheng were having breakfast at home, Yi Mingjun and Liu Xiangrong arrived again.

Yi Mingjun carried two large bags, each one bulging.

When Yi Mingjun saw Lin Zhiheng, a smile he had been preparing for a long time appeared on his face.

"Xiao Heng, your mother and I have come to see you again. We bought some things for you at the supply and marketing cooperative."

"I don't need it. I've said I can earn money to buy whatever I want." Lin Zhiheng coldly turned his head to the side, refusing to look at him at all.

Yi Mingjun wanted to put the things on the table, but the table was full of bowls and chopsticks, so he put the things on the ground.

Lin Qingyan rolled her eyes at them: "You couldn't coax Xiao Heng away yesterday, so he's here again today. You can take your things with you later."

She looked at Lin Zhiheng, wondering whether she should kick the two people out, but that depended on Lin Zhiheng's opinion.

She guessed that the two of them wouldn't give up easily; they might be driven away today, but they might come back tomorrow.

We need to find a way to stop these two people from bothering Lin Zhiheng once and for all.

Grandma Lin didn't do anything; she just ate. She would only act when Lin Qingyan and Lin Zhiheng needed her help.

Seeing that none of the three people chased them away, Yi Mingjun felt somewhat relieved.

Did Lin Zhiheng come to some understanding after last night, or did the things they brought today have an effect?

Regardless of the possibility, the fact that these three people have changed their attitude towards them proves that there is hope again.

So the two decided to strike while the iron was hot and started using the same excuses they had used on Lin Zhiheng: they wanted to acknowledge him and take him home.

Yi Mingjun spoke first: "Xiao Heng, what parent wouldn't be sincere to their child? You should understand your parents' good intentions. You've suffered a lot over the years, and your parents have also suffered a lot in searching for you. But your parents still feel indebted to you. When you come home with us, we will definitely make it up to you. Will you give us a chance to make it up to you?"

Liu Xiangrong then said, "Xiao Heng, you are a piece of my flesh and blood. How could I not love you? I'm a straightforward person, and sometimes I don't think before I speak. What I said yesterday was because I really wanted you to come home. You kept refusing to come to your parents' house, and I got anxious and spoke without thinking. Please understand me and don't take it to heart. I only spoke without considering the consequences because we're close. If I hurt you, I apologize."
