Chapter 8: Emptying the Whole House
Lu Jiahao was terrified just hearing the word "murder." He feared that the Liang family was deliberately trying to disgust them, which was why they had put down the banner. So he quickly stopped Shen Yuzhu from crying out.
As soon as I stepped out of the house, I saw a group of people standing at the door, all looking at me with expectant eyes.
"What are you all doing crowding around our door so early in the morning, Yuzhu? I'm not saying this to scold you, but why are you crying and shouting like that? You're not mature at all. Can't you learn from your sister?"
"Dad, what do you care about being composed at a time like this? Our family is in utter chaos, I..."
Zhong Fu rushed over and grabbed Shen Yuzhu's hand. No matter what, she couldn't let Shen Yuzhu reveal that Shen Yucheng had committed murder. They would be staying in Haicheng for quite some time, and she couldn't let Yucheng's reputation be ruined.
"Yuzhu, stop talking. We're all family. We share the same fate. If bad things happen to our family, it won't be good for your reputation as a young lady, will it?"
Shen Yuzhu's pale and aggrieved appearance, with her hand being held tightly, immediately evoked pity in the eyes of the people in the compound.
"Hey, forget about reputation. What good reputation could you two have, you heartless bastards? Look at this banner you've put up. Take a look at yourselves. What despicable things have you done to have your parents' graves dug up?"
"Exactly, you still want to cover Yuzhu's mouth at this time? What can you do even if you do? The news that her parents' graves have been dug up is probably spread all over the north and south of the city by now."
“Poor Yuzhu, if her mother and grandparents were still here, she wouldn’t be bullied like this.”
"Who can argue with that? Some people are rotten to the core. No matter what position a family of lowlifes gets, they'll still be lowlifes."
...
As everyone was talking, Lü Jiahao overheard one sentence: "His parents' graves have been dug up."
He staggered a couple of steps and grabbed the old man who had come to deliver the message.
"What did you say? Say it again?"
"You must be Comrade Lü. I work at the cemetery. Your family's grave is right next to where I work. I saw these two banners flying in the air early this morning. Everyone who came to pay their respects saw them. When we went over to take a look, lo and behold, your parents' coffins had been dug up. Inside, we found the skeletons of two wolves and a dog."
"What did you say? What nonsense are you talking about? My parents' graves were perfectly fine, how could they have been dug up? How could they have been dug up? How could this be?"
Lu Jiahao's frenzied behavior startled the onlookers at the door. But thinking about it, it makes sense; anyone whose parents' graves have been dug up would go crazy.
The old man who came to deliver the letter thought it was a good job. He had taken leave to deliver the letter, thinking he would get a reward. But he didn't expect to encounter a madman, whose shoulder was pinched painfully.
"Let go! Don't you know why your parents' graves were dug up? You've offended someone!"
The man struggled for a moment but couldn't break free. He shoved Lü Jiahao aside, cursed "bad luck," and turned to leave.
Lu Jiahao was struck dumb, his mind filled with the thought that the treasure in the coffin had been stolen. It was something he had endured for so many years to obtain, and now it was gone, just like that!
"ah!"
He suddenly screamed and fainted, startling Zhong Fu.
"Quickly, take him to the hospital, Yuxia, quickly take your father to the hospital."
"Dad, Dad, what's wrong with you? God, what terrible crime have we committed that deserves to be struck by lightning? How did this calamity befall the Lü family? Dad, please wake up! I... I don't have the money to take you to the hospital! Dad, sob sob..."
"Don't worry about it, we've got your dad here!"
Shen Yuzhu cried and tried to follow, but Shen Yuxia pushed her away. The Shen family was indeed cold-hearted; even at this point, all they cared about was money!
Shen Yuzhu staggered, but was caught by Hou Dalabao. She stretched out her hand and howled twice, then turned her head and leaned on Hou Dalabao's shoulder, whimpering for a while.
After playing the victim again in front of everyone in the compound, she went home, locked the gate, and walked into the two-story house with her hands behind her back. She had to quickly put all the things in the house into her spatial storage, leaving nothing for those ungrateful bastards like Lü Jiahao.
The first place we went to was the master bedroom. Lu Jiahao and Zhong Fu's room was the most spacious and bright bedroom in the entire building. Shen Yuzhu looked at the photo of the two of them on the bedside table and sneered.
This room used to be my mother's bedroom. The bed was specially made for her by my grandmother. The Simmons mattress on it was said to have been imported from overseas and cost tens of thousands of yuan.
Of course, now she knows that it was taken out of her grandmother's space.
I wonder if Zhong Fu and Lü Jiahao will have nightmares lying on such a comfortable bed at night.
Besides the large bed, all the other items—bedside tables, lamps, dressing table, wardrobe, shoe cabinet—were stored in the space. The bedroom led directly to the study, and Shen Yuzhu stored all the valuables in the space. As she reached out to put away the desk, she suddenly saw a file folder. She opened it and her eyes widened instantly.
There was a document and an account book inside, which she quickly put away.
Next was Shen Yuxia's room. It has to be said that the apple of Lü Jiahao and Zhong Fu's eye is well-fed. There are more than a dozen foreign brand watches alone, all paid for by the Shen family. They all have to be accepted.
In the basement, there were also gold bars, jewelry, cash, jade, famous cigarettes and wines, and rare antiques that Lü Jiahao had secretly hidden, all of which she had stored in her spatial storage.
She spent the whole morning running around the house, confiscating only their smelly socks, shoes, and underwear. Everything else, except for the nearly withered potted plants, stayed obediently in Shen Yuzhu's space.
After doing all that, she went to the south of the city and secretly met with Liang Manxiu.
Since she still had time, she rode her bicycle directly to Director Chen's house. She remembered that this cousin's niece was a graduate of the same year as her and was currently unemployed.
If she can't find a job again, she'll probably have to go to the countryside. For the sake of our relationship, I can sell her this job cheaply.
Liang Manxiu, her face bruised and swollen, huddled in the corner as her father, wielding a dirty, smelly shoe sole, struck her head once more.
"Tell me, who came to see you today?"
Liang Manxiu shuddered, covered her head with her hands, and said tremblingly, "Dad, Dad, that's Shen Yucheng's sister. She came to warn me, saying that their family graves have been dug up, and that her father is in the hospital and there's no one left in the family. She said it's all our fault."
"What? There's no one in her family?"
Liang Manxiu quickly nodded, but her father was about to hit her again when her stepmother pulled her arm.
"Hey, stop hitting her. Look at her, she'll never get a bite. I heard the Shen family is really rich, and there's no one home right now. How about we..."
"That's a wealthy area, is it a place we should go in?"
"Oh, are you stupid? We're the ones suffering the most right now. It's best if no one from their family is here. If someone is, humph, they'll definitely be afraid we'll make a big scene. In that case, we can just ask for whatever benefits we want!"
"Wife, you're right. Rich people care about their image. We should have a good fight, hehehehehe..."
Liang Manxiu lowered her head, listening indifferently to their reckless remarks, secretly hoping, "Go quickly, go crawl into the trap!"
