Chapter 13 Reality and Fiction

Several parties were arguing and mediating about whether the children of the factory workers should go to the Northeast.

The first person to be agreed upon was the deputy section chief Li Yongzhong, the real instigator of the incident.

Although his "mistake" could not be made public directly, the relevant authorities still found an excuse for him to be transferred far away from his current job.

The young people who decided to be sent down to the countryside cherished their last chance to stay at home. They either helped with more chores at home or went back to school or their hometown from time to time.

The very few young men and women who have obtained the qualifications to stay in the city and work in factories have become popular in everyone's eyes.

Zhang Hongcheng is one of them.

Just based on Zhang Hongcheng's appearance, background and job opportunities, he became the golden boy in the eyes of several matchmaking aunties in the factory.

Zhang Hongcheng was forced to come to the county theater again.

Pei Shujing's colleague at the hospital introduced a girl from the county town to her stepson.

The girl is also a high school student and is over eighteen years old.

This girl named Yu Qiuli was originally going to be sent down to the countryside, but her family used their connections to arrange for her to be sent to a neighboring county.

But just a few days before she was about to leave, Yu Qiuli's mother suddenly became seriously ill. In order to stay and take care of her mother, the girl agreed to several blind dates arranged by her family.

The colleague praised the girl like a flower in front of Pei Shujing.

It is said that this girl was the most outstanding one in school back then, but she was a little arrogant.

I submitted manuscripts to newspapers several times during my three years of high school, and I was almost selected as a worker-peasant-soldier university student when I graduated.

The guys I went on the first three blind dates with were all very good, but unfortunately the girls didn’t like them.

But colleagues swore that Zhang Hongcheng was absolutely outstanding and the girl would definitely like him.

Pei Shujing was originally reluctant to find a girl who was too arrogant for her stepson, but she changed her mind after seeing her photo.

Zhang Yumin, who also saw the photo, said that this girl has 70% similar temperament to Pei Shujing back then.

After seeing the photo, Zhang Hongcheng thought the girl was pretty and had good temperament, but he thought the two of them wouldn't get along, so he didn't plan to go from the beginning.

But what he should never have done was to "send" the photo to Fatty Hu in another time and space.

The nosy Fatty Hu took the girl's photo and searched the Internet.

Something went wrong!

The one who is going to get into trouble is not Fatty Hu and Zhang Hongcheng, but this girl named Yu Qiuli.

Both of them thought that Zhang Hongcheng was just in a world in a book or a branch of time and space, but Fatty Hu happened to find the same photo and name.

[Review of the Taoling case: Yu Qiuli, born in 1954, disappeared on her way home after a blind date in late June 1972, early in her relocation to the countryside. Three days later, her body was found in a pond... The case remains unsolved.]

According to the specific time analysis, this girl may be in trouble soon.

The middleman also said that there were many people waiting to see this girl, and even if Zhang Hongcheng didn't go tonight, there would be another young man to take his place.

Zhang Hongcheng couldn't bear to watch an innocent life being lost, so he agreed to the meeting.

He couldn't possibly predict that something bad was going to happen to the girl, right?

It's better to sentence you to be a feudal superstitious person. If something really happens to the girl later, he will definitely be the first person to be suspected.

Pei Shujing has great craftsmanship. She made several sets of short-sleeved white shirts using the white cloth she bought from the People's Store.

One of them is on Zhang Hongcheng's body.

He stood on the west side of the Little Theater Square and looked up at the moonless sky.

The words Fatty Hu sent today lingered in his mind.

From 9 p.m. on June 26, 1972, to June 28, heavy rain fell for two consecutive days and nights, completely destroying all traces of the site. Two days later, a flash flood breached the Liujiaoqiao embankment, burying two natural villages.

If heavy rain really falls two hours later, it means that this is not just a world in a book, but a complete branch of time and space.

Zhang Hongcheng arrived early, while Comrade Yu Qiuli showed up on time.

She was wearing a long-sleeved white blouse, and probably because she was going to meet the gay men, she fastened her wristbands despite the hot weather.

The green pants fit her perfectly, obviously tailored by herself, and there was a thin black women's leather belt around the waist, which perfectly outlined her slender waist.

Her shoes were not Liberation shoes, but a pair of homemade black cloth shoes.

She has a peach-shaped face with a pair of phoenix eyes and willow-shaped eyebrows, and her mouth is thin and unusually small.

Two neat braids tied at the back of her head with a blue handkerchief gave her a petty bourgeois vibe.

The middleman simply gave the two of them a brief introduction and left the space to the two young people.

Yu Qiuli had seen photos of Zhang Hongcheng. He was a bit handsome, but the person in the photo looked a bit feminine, which was not her type.

But it's better than the person who was the substitute tonight, so she agreed to meet Zhang Hongcheng.

Yu Qiuli came here tonight with a perfunctory attitude, because she had discovered that her mother's illness was a routine, and she just wanted to force her to stay in the city after the blind date.

In order to please her family, she would "obediently" come out to visit them a few times before leaving for the neighboring county.

However, the person in front of me looks a little different from the one in the photo.

Where has that feminine air of sadness and melancholy gone?

The few people she had met before were either too polite, at a loss, or too boastful.

But Zhang Hongcheng didn't seem to be smiling very seriously. He either looked up at the sky or looked around at the people around him.
