The train is galloping across the vast land of Northeast China.
At the end of July, Northeast China entered the next harvest season.
This made Zhang Hongcheng, who had been waiting on the train, unable to sit still. He wanted to throw away the things he had brought with him and run back to his forest farm.
But the Corps Headquarters’ order was for him to take the vehicle directly to Jiamu City.
Because the Corps Headquarters is not in Harbin, but in Jiamu City, north of Harbin.
The freight train stopped at the platform inside the Corps.
A man in his thirties, wearing a blue cadre uniform, was anxiously waiting for him on the platform with a few people.
It was Secretary Zhao, Minister Li’s assistant.
There were a few people standing not far from Secretary Zhao. One of them was a man wearing a gray cadre uniform, who was stared at unfriendly by Secretary Zhao.
Secretary Zhao felt that these people in the logistics department were simply too shameless. The things Xiao Zhang brought back must be put into the warehouse of his department first.
But this group of people even prepared a trailer. Are they planning to rob openly?
There were four or five thank-you calls from Yuncheng, and several bigwigs in the Corps were alarmed.
The confusing account with Yuncheng Agricultural Reclamation Company was said to have been cleared. They bought the sacks according to the latest provincial regulations, so they asked Zhang Hongcheng to bring some things to offset the excess amount.
As for what exactly Zhang Hongcheng brought back, no one knows yet.
It was probably because Yuncheng directly loaded a truck with things for him, deliberately hiding it from Zhang Hongcheng and asking him to open the seal when he arrived at the destination.
The reconciliation statement has been sent separately to the Heilongjiang Province Corps.
Secretary Guo from the Logistics Department greeted Secretary Zhao with a smile. He was well aware of Secretary Zhao's vigilance.
However, I'm afraid Secretary Zhao doesn't know what materials Yuncheng used to offset the excess payment this time.
But Secretary Guo knew something.
His wife's colleague is from Yuncheng, and he got some inside information when he was talking to his family on the phone the day before yesterday.
The vinegar factory under the Yuncheng Agricultural Reclamation Company suddenly ran out of stock of the first batch of imitation Zhenjiang vinegar it produced after the summer, causing complaints from many customers who were waiting for the vinegar to go on the market.
The Corps' Logistics Department immediately concluded that this batch of vinegar was most likely used by the agricultural reclamation company as a payment for favors.
There is certainly no shortage of vinegar in Northeast China, it costs eight cents a pound.
But most of them are aged vinegar, and the fragrant vinegar must be authentic Jiang, not so sour but sweet.
In summer, every household likes to make cold dishes, so the consumption of vinegar is naturally high.
Zhenjiang's vinegar production is limited, and due to its reputation, only a small amount can enter the Northeast.
This thing is naturally very valuable in Northeast China.
Secretary Zhao is looking for good things to prepare for the Model Workers Conference, while Secretary Guo is also worried about the supplies for the August 1st military support.
So with the "tacit approval" of the logistics minister, Secretary Guo set his sights on the possible presence of fragrant vinegar in this batch of supplies.
Anyway, his people will actively and enthusiastically help with the transportation, so it won't be "strange" if dozens of boxes of supplies are transported to the wrong place.
It was the first time that Zhang Hongcheng met Secretary Zhao. He felt that this person was a little weird and he didn't know what he was so nervous about.
Especially when the seal on the truck was opened, the people who came to pick him up actually crowded together.
One group of people glared, while another group was grinning.
What Secretary Zhao cares about most are those hundreds of watermelons.
He called in a few veterans, knocked on each one, and finally picked out hundreds of those that were probably not damaged.
The rest of the watermelons were cut on the spot, some good and some bad.
But the people at the scene didn't care about what was good or bad. As long as it wasn't too dark red and out of flavor, they would pull the porters and train attendants on the platform and show off.
Zhang Hongcheng couldn't stop it.
Secretary Zhao and Secretary Guo were no exception, each showing off half a dark red watermelon.
(The watermelons back then were not big.)
Everyone who had eaten the watermelon came to help, and the entire truck compartment was emptied in minutes.
But Secretary Zhao's people started to fight with Secretary Guo's people again.
For some reason, one of the small trucks brought by Secretary Zhao suddenly broke down, so Secretary Guo insisted that Secretary Zhao use the truck he brought to load the vinegar.
The two of them pretended to be polite to each other.
This time, the Yuncheng Agricultural Reclamation Company has changed its previous bad attitude towards the Corps and is willing to provide materials that exceed the quota as compensation.
They are all good products produced by enterprises under the agricultural reclamation company, and they are all sold at cost price.
For example, there are bales of fine cotton that fill up half a truck container... This stuff is a real commodity in Northeast China.
Another example is the good stuff hidden in the many cotton bags - the packaging is a little blurry, the seal on the box is from 1959, and the writing on the seal is almost blurred.
This is a type of Fenjiu brewed by the winery under the Yuncheng Agricultural Reclamation Company. It is named Xinghuabai and is fifteen years old. Some of the boxes even have dried mud on them - they have just been dug out.
Zhang Hongcheng felt terrified at the thought of hiding wine in a cotton bag.
What if it catches fire halfway...
As soon as ten boxes of Lao Fenjiu were brought onto the platform, the "harmonious" atmosphere between Secretary Zhao and Secretary Guo disappeared in an instant.
One porter in particular was gasping in amazement as he pinched the dried mud on the box.
"Hey, this was just dug out?!"
There seemed to be a flash of lightning in the eyes of Secretary Zhao and Secretary Guo when they looked at each other.
Zhang Hongcheng subconsciously took a step back while holding a box of wine.
The two gangs' laughter and fooling around with each other also came to an end.
Both secretaries cared a lot about the vinegar, but the thing that the leader behind them cared about the most appeared!
As confidants of their respective leaders, they knew how difficult it was to get hold of the fine wines their leaders collected.
