Chapter 3 Who calls whom daddy?

My stepmother Pei Shujing is a very quiet-looking woman.

Zhang Hongcheng thought she must have been quite beautiful when she was young.

After getting home from get off work, Pei Shujing was very efficient and prepared the meal quickly.

Today's dinner consists of two dishes and one soup.

One of the dishes actually had three pieces of meat in it.

Pei Shujing gave two pieces to Zhang Hongcheng and the other one to Zhang Yumin.

Zhang Yumin smiled and bit off half of the meat, then quickly stuffed the rest into her mother's mouth.

Both mother and daughter were laughing, which made Zhang Hongcheng feel a little out of place.

That’s right, in my memory, there was a huge gap between Zhang Hongcheng and his stepmother.

After all, when my stepmother came into the family, I was almost four years old.

When my father was still alive, I was very obedient, but since the bad news came from the plateau, I have become a completely different person.

Both pieces of meat in his bowl were fatty.

After dinner, Zhang Hongcheng was about to go back to his room, but his stepmother secretly called him.

"Auntie, what's the matter?"

Pei Shujing tried to slow down her tone: "I heard from the nurses in our hospital that you and Xiao She are breaking up?"

Zhang Hongcheng's heart skipped a beat, and a hint of doubt arose in his mind.

How did my stepmother's colleague know about this?

Moreover, She Meihua had just written the breakup letter in the morning and had never told anyone about it, but the news reached the workers' hospital of the machinery factory in the afternoon.

If someone hadn't done it on purpose, Zhang Hongcheng would have dared to write his last name backwards.

"You know the situation of the She family. She and her brother are worried about being sent down to the countryside," Pei Shujing said, pulling out her purse. "Girls have tempers like this, they come and go. Take her to a state-owned restaurant for a good meal tomorrow."

Pei Shujing gave Zhang Hongcheng four brand new fifty-cent coins and six taels of food coupons.

"This is the salary I just received. It will look more handsome if I use the new version."

When Zhang Yumin saw that her mother gave Zhang Hongcheng two whole pieces, she was so angry that she threw the curtain and went into her own compartment.

Pei Shujing ignored her daughter's temper, but whispered to Zhang Hongcheng.

"Actually, the She family's affairs are easy to handle. Your father was a martyr, and the factory has already reserved a job opening for you. So as long as they agree to your marriage, won't Xiao She stay?"

"Tomorrow at dinner time, take some time to ask Meihua what her family's rules are for your marriage."

Zhang Hongcheng nodded indifferently, but he was thinking about Zhang Yumin.

In the original body's memory, the policy of going to the countryside is becoming more and more strict, and it seems that Zhang Yumin, who is still studying, has also been mobilized several times.

Moreover, there was a rumor some time ago that in order to respond to the call from the higher authorities, the high school for children of children of the machinery factory might stop offering the third year of high school, and the second-year students would graduate directly and then respond to the call to go to the countryside.

Then the reason why the original body was in despair was probably because he was caught in a dilemma.

Why not just end it all and leave the spot for your sister?

Zhang Hongcheng promised his stepmother that he would have a good talk with She Meihua, but in his heart he was thinking about how to turn his girlfriend into his ex-girlfriend tomorrow.

Back to his balcony cabin, Zhang Hongcheng was about to find something to pack up the four textile five-cent notes that had just been issued this year, when he suddenly realized that something seemed to be missing from his desk.

Where's that old envelope?

There is nothing in the drawers or under the table!

Just as he was wondering, the shadow of an envelope slowly emerged in the air.

The old envelope that had disappeared suddenly appeared on the table.

Zhang Hongcheng was so frightened that he took several steps back.

......

The red stamps on the surface of the old envelope and inside the envelope were gone, but there were five more Great Unity stamps in the envelope.

This made Zhang Hongcheng's eyes light up, as his total assets were only two cents.

You have to know that fifty yuan in 1972 had a purchasing power that even exceeded five thousand yuan in later generations!

Moreover, Zhang Hongcheng soon discovered that these five great unity photos looked somewhat familiar.

It would be fine if it was any other Great Unity, but after seeing the last digits of the codes of these five Great Unitys, he became more and more confused.

"Aren't these five Zhang Da Tuanjie the biological sons of Hu Yu?"

There was a note sandwiched between the five pieces of unity.

"Dear, please give a five-star rating after receiving the collection. Thank you very much!"

Such ugly handwriting is indeed the handwriting of Fatty Hu.

I've only been away for half a day, how could this guy be so wasteful as to sell his collection?

But the bigger question is...

Why did this old envelope disappear before, and why did it reappear with the five Great Unity tickets that Hu Yu wanted to sell to others?

He recalled all his actions during the day, and finally cast a puzzled look at the place where the stamp was affixed on the envelope.

"How about giving it a try?"

He stuffed the four brand new five-cent notes he had just received into the envelope and also wrote a note and put it in there too.

Zhang Hongcheng rummaged through the drawer for a long time and finally found an unused sports-themed stamp and stuck it in the stamp column of the envelope.

But he stared at the old envelope until ten o'clock in the evening, and there was still no change.

The next morning, Zhang Hongcheng, who had just woken up, subconsciously touched under his pillow.

Sure enough, the magical old envelope disappeared again!

Back to four or five in the morning.

The ashtray is already full of cigarette butts.

Hu Yu didn't sleep all night.

In front of him lay the old envelope and four brand new textile coins.

And a note that was obviously written by his "adopted son".

If he had not seen the envelope disappear with his own eyes and then reappear on the computer desk at exactly midnight, he would never have believed the nonsense on the note that someone said they had traveled to 1972.
