The Fourth Division is a semi-militarized unit, but it has strong corporate characteristics in its internal business management.
There were originally fifteen people participating in the Fourth Division's spring cadre school class, and Zhang Hongcheng was a temporary addition.
Among these sixteen people, most are middle-aged people over thirty years old.
There are only three who can be called young people.
They are 26-year-old Tang Zhongmin, from Lianzhushan, where the Fourth Division's headquarters is located;
Twenty-four-year-old Dai Qingfen is from Yingchun, the headquarters of the 33rd Regiment.
The other one is Zhang Hongcheng, who is twenty years old (in lunar age).
It was at this time that Zhang Hongcheng learned that the headquarters of the 4th Division was not in Jixi. The several departments that remained in Jixi were all functional departments closely related to Jixi, such as the Logistics Department, the Educated Youth Department, the Cadre School, etc.
The headquarters of the 4th Division is in Lianzhu Mountain.
Sharing the same dormitory with Zhang Hongcheng was a middle-aged man from Baoqing named Wei Dongsheng.
Thirty-six years old, from the Longtou Stud Farm located in Baoqing, where the division headquarters is located.
Living with this old man, Zhang Hongcheng felt like he had smoked all the cigarettes in two lifetimes.
Wei Dongsheng loves smoking, and he feels uncomfortable if he doesn't have a cigarette between his fingers.
At first, he was still concerned about the young man Zhang Hongcheng, so he would go out to smoke, and then come back to the house shivering like a grandson from the cold.
Zhang Hongcheng felt uncomfortable, so he took the initiative to let Lao Wei smoke in the house.
Old Wei was still reserved at first, but later when he became familiar with Zhang Hongcheng, his true colors were immediately revealed.
The cigarettes he brought with him were gone in just a few days, and all the cigarettes that Zhang Hongcheng had saved for a long time were immediately consumed by Wei Dongsheng.
Don't be fooled by Wei Dongsheng's rough appearance, he is actually a real college student.
After this study session at the division headquarters, he will go to the Dongfanghong area to take charge of a newly opened stud farm.
Zhang Hongcheng thought that this person would talk about horses and cows all the time, but Wei Dongsheng just talked about all kinds of gossip about the division headquarters.
Thanks to Lao Wei, Zhang Hongcheng realized that he was involved in several internal lawsuits.
Tang Zhongmin and Dai Qingfen were both young cadres who were spotted and trained by the division headquarters early on. After this cadre school, the division headquarters will also allocate two corresponding positions.
One was an editor of the Fourth Division Daily, and the other was a planner at the Division's Mining Bureau.
These are all hot jobs that make people jealous.
But after Zhang Hongcheng joined the training, the division headquarters leaked the news that another destination option would be added.
He was seconded to Hongqitun, Hulin County, to serve as the captain of the educated youth team and the battalion commander of the Hongqitun militia.
This position is obviously much worse than the previous two.
"Do you think this position is prepared for you?"
Old Wei smiled and took away half of Zhang Hongcheng's large production, then shook his head mysteriously.
"Those two took turns asking the division headquarters for information, and the result they found out was that the best candidates would be assigned to the positions at that time."
"Xiao Zhang, you may not know this, but you are also a treasure in the division headquarters."
Zhang Hongcheng curiously lit up Lao Wei's fire.
"Brother, what am I compared to those two? I've only been in Northeast China for half a year."
"Just be falsely modest, kid."
"You've only been here for half a year, so what? You've done so much more than others."
"Let's not talk about anything else. Tang Zhongmin has his eye on the editor of the daily newspaper, but the head of the newspaper secretly leaked that he wants you by name."
Zhang Hongcheng laughed. "No way? I heard Tang Zhongmin is a famous writer in the division headquarters."
"What good is a famous writer?"
Old Wei sneered.
"What I wrote was still scolded by Political Commissar Han!"
"If you just ask for this position, there's an 80% chance it will fall to you."
"In terms of honors, you're the top-ranked report writer at both the Corps and Division levels. Tang Zhongmin's best was just first prize in a competition within the Division."
"You probably don't know how much Tang Zhongmin fears you."
"Last time, during the division-wide essay contest, there was one special prize, two first prizes, and four second prizes, and he won a second prize. He was even hailed as a leading writer among the young people in the division's direct agencies."
"Let's talk about practicality. To avoid being scolded by Political Commissar Han, the editor-in-chief will have to get you back to help him polish his article!"
Zhang Hongcheng touched his head. Although he felt that what Lao Wei said made sense, he knew his own business.
There is no way he can become an editor.
Firstly, it does not conform to my own plan. Secondly, if I become an editor myself, I will have to use a large number of old envelopes, which increases the risk of the old envelopes being exposed in two time and space.
"Unfortunately, I have no interest in being an editor."
Old Wei was stunned when he heard what Zhang Hongcheng said.
"Do you really want to go to the Mining Bureau?"
"Come to think of it, the Mining Bureau was after you, too. They just gave up because they couldn't compete with the Daily Newspaper."
"Brother Wei, the Mining Bureau wants me? But I know nothing about minerals!"
"How come you're so smart when you're sane, but sometimes you can't figure it out?"
"You probably don't know what our Mining Bureau has been struggling with recently, right?"
"Brother, tell me about it."
"You and Xiao Chu discovered the Amur gold mine together, right?"
"But you used to belong to the educated youth company below us, so it's really hard for our Mining Bureau to make a fuss about this."
"The propaganda said that this gold mine was discovered by educated youth from the Fourth Division. The whole division was proud of it, but the Mining Bureau was the only one that was embarrassed."
"But if you become a member of the Mining Bureau, you'll have all the credit for the Bureau, and you can even use this as a legitimate publicity tool."
