Chapter 409: No Sexual Behavior

In the evening at Victoria Harbour, the afterglow of the setting sun paints a thick layer of orange-red on the water.

Even the pure white exterior of Queen Mary Hospital across the river seemed to be tinged with warmth.

Liu Rumeng pulled her hat brim down, her brown sunglasses covering most of her face, and a mask covering her mouth and nose, making her features almost invisible. She was wearing an ordinary, oversized windbreaker, completely different from the one in the newspaper photo, and she walked hurriedly.

To avoid attracting attention, she took a taxi and walked quickly into the Queen Mary Hospital building without attracting anyone's attention.

The smell of disinfectant was not pleasant, but Liu Rumeng held a glimmer of hope in her heart. She walked straight to the clinic where she had agreed to meet with Dr. Sophie.

Knock on the door gently.

"Come in."

Doctor Sophie was working on medical records at her desk. She looked up at the sound, her blond hair meticulously combed.

"Ms. Liu? Please take a seat."

She gestured to Liu Rumeng to close the door and quickly scanned her face through the lens.

Although covered by sunglasses and hat brim, the elegant temperament in his bones is hard to conceal.

After Liu Rumeng sat down a little awkwardly, Sophie whispered, "Relax, Miss Liu. Here, you are just one of my many patients who need help."

Liu Rumeng took a deep breath and took off her sunglasses and hat.

Her cheeks looked slightly pale due to her heavy worries, and the delicate features unique to oriental beauties glowed with a warm luster under the light of the clinic.

Sophie's eyes flashed with admiration: "Ms. Liu, your beauty is very unique, classic, elegant, and tough."

She paused, leaning forward slightly. "Excuse me, but people are speculating about who you prefer between Mr. Huo and Mr. Xiaolin."

Liu Rumeng was slightly startled. She hadn't expected this doctor to be interested in gossip. She twitched her lips, "Doctor Sophie, you're too kind. It's just the two gentlemen's passing interest. They're prominent, so they're always surrounded by admirers. As for me...right now, I just want to take care of my health. As for relationships, I'll just let it happen."

Sophie nodded in understanding, putting aside her tentative thoughts. "I understand. Don't worry, keeping medical treatment confidential is my professional ethics."

Her expression turned serious and professional. "Let's talk about your situation. Based on the information you provided and your last test results, I've diagnosed you with uterine hypoplasia and have developed a treatment plan."

Doctor Sophie stood up, walked to the wall, and pointed at a human anatomy chart. "This is the uterus. Normally, a woman's uterus matures after puberty. But in your case," she circled the uterus on the chart, "development has lagged behind, and it's stuck in the early stages. This makes it difficult for you to conceive."

Liu Rumeng's eyes were fixed on the small circle that represented her physical "defect." Even though she had been prepared, she still felt embarrassed when it was pointed out so bluntly.

"Ms. Liu, there's no need to be overly nervous. The treatment plan for this disease has a high success rate." Dr. Sophie's voice was steady and powerful. "We can reactivate and promote uterine development through periodic hormone injections. The plan is to inject once every two weeks in the initial stage, and adjust it based on your response and reexamination indicators." She opened the document and pointed to the list of medicines and precautions.

"The treatment process is quite long, Miss Liu. You must be mentally prepared. A conservative estimate is two to three years." Sophie looked her in the eye and emphasized, "The most important rule, and one that absolutely cannot be violated, is to strictly prohibit any sexual activity. Friction or collision could cause irreversible damage to the fragile, developing uterus, completely destroying any hope of recovery. Please remember this!"

Liu Rumeng's hand twitched in her lap, her expression grim. Two or three years... In the ever-changing world of Hong Kong Island, time is precious and full of uncertainty.

"Thank you, Dr. Sophie, I understand. I... am willing to accept your treatment plan." Liu Rumeng's voice was soft, but it carried a heavy weight.

A flicker of approval flashed in Dr. Sophie's eyes. "Okay. Then we can start the first injection today." She deftly removed the refrigerated injection, sterile cotton swabs, and syringe. The smell of alcohol filled the air.

Liu Rumeng turned her face away and lifted her sleeve, revealing a section of her fair forearm. The moment the needle pierced her skin, the slight pain and the strange feeling of the cold liquid flowing into her body made her tremble slightly and clench her teeth.

The injection was complete. Sophie carefully packaged the oral tablets and capsules and explained in detail the time of administration, dosage, possible side effects, and how to deal with them. She also emphasized the importance of a checkup and the next injection in two weeks.

"Ms. Liu, after the treatment begins, you must pay close attention to your body's reactions. If you feel any discomfort, please contact me immediately or come to the hospital directly..." Sophie walked her to the door, put her hand on the doorknob and whispered again: "Remember! Before the uterus is fully developed, you must not have any sexual intercourse..."

Liu Rumeng put on her sunglasses and hat again and whispered, "I will obey! Thank you, Dr. Sophie." Then she opened the door and hurriedly disappeared in the dim light of the corridor.

Walking out of the revolving glass doors of Queen Mary Hospital, the salty, fishy sea breeze of the late autumn evening hit her face. Liu Rumeng subconsciously tightened the collar of her windbreaker.

She stood on the steps, not immediately stopping a car. Instead, she raised her hand and, through the thick fabric of her clothes, gently pressed it against her flat stomach. Her fingertips felt no change. The slight sting of the needle and the coolness of the medicine seemed to linger.

In the twilight of Victoria Harbour as the lights were just coming on, at the bustling hospital entrance, a strange, astringent yet tenacious feeling was quietly rising from the deepest part of her body.

She took a deep breath of the cool, moist air, as if she had truly inhaled a breath of new strength. Then she shook her head in self-mockery. How could the drug work so quickly?

Without stopping, she walked with a slightly determined step into the street where the lights were just beginning to light up. She hailed a taxi at a street corner some distance from the hospital and returned to Repulse Bay...
