(Preface: Just now the author, silly, put the final remarks in the VIP chapter. Friends who have subscribed, please don’t scold me. I will replace the content you have subscribed with the extra content later. I am sorry to everyone, and I apologize again. I will post a new remarks, and this time I will not charge you.)

The main text is finished, and when I typed the last few words on the keyboard, my mind was empty. From uploading the first chapter on December 1 last year to completing it on December 19 this year, a little over a year is not a long time in online writing, but it was a difficult journey for me.

2.99 million words, just shy of 3 million. For a clumsy writer with an average typing speed of only 1,000 words per hour, to type these words in a year means that I have to sit in front of the computer for 12 hours a day, from 9 am to 9 pm, day after day.

Looking back on this year, it should be the most difficult year for me in my online writing career. A week after I started writing, I became ill due to the epidemic. At that time, I was on a business trip in Tianjin and stayed in a small hotel in the suburbs. I felt severe pain all over my body and my throat felt like I had swallowed a razor blade. At three o'clock in the morning, I endured the severe pain in my body and ran to the pharmacy in the suburbs and counties just to ask for a painkiller, but there was no doctor to go to.

Fortunately, I managed to get through it in more than a week. Not only was I not defeated by the illness, I also managed to update.

Perhaps God rewards hard work. After I recovered from COVID-19, my editor Liu Xing told me a piece of news - the number of 24-hour VIP readers reached 3,400. This is really great news for me, who has been receiving thousands of subscriptions since I started writing books.

But after getting better grades, I felt burdened. I was worried that my reading would decline every day, and I was looking forward to the novel being put on the shelves soon. Friends who have been following the novel for a long time may remember that I always updated 6,000 words a day before it was put on the shelves, and it was for this reason.

When it was put on the shelves in mid-January, it had 7,600 follow-up reads and 5,500 first orders. I still remember these two numbers to this day, because they represent not only the performance of the book, but also the light of hope for my future life.

Try harder and harder. I remember that when I was writing the first book, my writing speed could reach 2,000 words per hour from time to time, but when it came to this book, I wrote slower and slower. 1,500 words, 1,200 words, 1,000 words, 800 words...

The lower the statistics of the coding software go, the longer I sit in front of the computer every day.

Headache, cervical vertebra pain, waist pain, buttocks pain. Sitting still and facing the computer for a long time, my body is sending me warnings.

Not only that, because of too much mental stress, stomach problems also tortured me repeatedly. In July, I got thyroiditis again. This disease is not a serious one, it is a self-healing disease, but there is a problem. I will feel pain in the afternoon every day, which is very similar to the body aches caused by a high fever. It lasted for more than a month before it got better.

The above two paragraphs are neither complaints nor grievances. I don't write online articles for nothing. Every word is subscribed by you with real money. Your love for me and my works has been reflected in the subscriptions and rewards. I have nothing but gratitude in my heart. You can just regard the above words as a kind of pitifulness.

I am an autistic author. I basically do not speak in the book review section and rarely speak in the book club. I am usually busy writing. I finally finished the main text today and I have the time and mood to talk to you all.

Long-term creation is a huge consumption for the author. In addition to conceiving the next plot every day, he also has to review the creative context and gains and losses of the entire book.

This book belongs to the urban category, and if it is broken down, it can be classified into era + entertainment.

Looking back on the creation process of this book, there are three points that make me most satisfied: first, the approach of the Institute of Literature and Art, second, the plot handling of the writer's main line + the editor's branch line in the early and middle stages, and third, the creation of several supporting characters such as Huang Anyi, Shi Tiesheng, Zheng Guo, Yu Hua, and Niu Han. The last point is a bit of a trick, after all, there is a prototype.

After talking about the parts of my writing that I am satisfied with, let me talk about the parts that I am not satisfied with.

1. The treatment of the first volume at the beginning was a bit too hasty. My original intention was to write the character's growth arc, but in retrospect it seemed a bit too much. The protagonist seemed a bit greasy and slippery. It should have been handled more conservatively.

2. Regarding the treatment of the love line, the heroine was decided to be Tao Huimin from the very beginning. My idea of the love line for the protagonist was based on the experiences of some literati. I planned to give the protagonist some romantic scandals and the regret of not marrying anyone other than the heroine.

There was originally a branch storyline for Yoko Kuro who went to Japan to receive an award and buy at the bottom, but later it was felt that going to the United States and Japan would be considered opening up the map, and the plot would be repetitive and tedious, so the Japan line was abandoned, and Yoko Kuro lost the opportunity to appear.

Zhu Lin and He Saifei's handling of the situation was a bit sloppy, and Tao Huimin appeared too late, which are all problems.

As a straight man with very little emotional experience, I am indeed very lacking in the aspect of emotional drama.

3. The rhythm is not well controlled. This has a lot to do with the explosion. The book is said to be era + entertainment, or more accurately, era + plagiarism. The main theme is still new era literature. In fact, it was destined from the beginning that the story line is basically limited to the decade from the 1980s to the mid-1990s.

The pace in the early and middle stages was too fast, which resulted in many good plots and characters being lost during the writing process. It also directly affected the direction of the plot in the later stages, which was more inclined towards film and television and the Internet.

However, there are pros and cons to updating frequently. Without it, perhaps my grades wouldn't have improved so quickly.

These unsatisfactory aspects are shortcomings, but I believe they will also be nutrients for my future creations. Don’t go down the wrong path again.

Now that the main text of the book has been completed, I will write some postscripts and extra chapters next. The postscript is tentatively one article, and the number of extra chapters is undecided. I will try to write more and improve some plots and characters.

To be honest, as of yesterday, the number of subscribers to this book was still 12,700, and I really don't want to finish it. But I also know that if I continue to write, the topic will only become more and more off-topic, and many readers may have already formed the habit of reading and will still subscribe.

But for me, I want to treat creation as a career that I can pursue for the rest of my life. It’s easy to make money, but it’s easy to lose a person, and it’s also a waste of everyone’s love for me.

I hope that when I write my next book, everyone will still recognize me.

Speaking of new books, I just talked to the editor today. If nothing unexpected happens, it should still be about the era + entertainment. I plan to take a break after writing the extra chapters. I haven't taken a break for a year. The start time of the book has not been decided yet. It should be before the Chinese New Year. I will take advantage of this time to polish it. Everyone should think about coming to support me!

Finally, considering that everyone will lose the fun of reading this book after it is finished, I have specially found some meal replacements for you.

"I'm a Director, I'm Not a Bad Guy", author: Bu Lao Gou. Brother Gou is the leader of the entertainment industry, his style is characterized by the word "cool", his hand is very fast, this book has 6 million words, just like his weight, fat and juicy.

"Return to the Small Fishing Village in 1982", author: Mi Mi De Mi. The author Su Su Jie is a talented and beautiful woman. This book has 3 million words, and it is getting better and better. It is much better than my short and powerful book.

"The Widower's Entertainment", author: Luanxuezhe. A seedling with the same theme as my book, the author is a level 1 account, I don't know him. But the writing is very good, I am better than writing. Ten thousand subscriptions, well, if it is not ten thousand subscriptions, don't say I am a jinx.

"1990: Starting from Baojia Street", author: Roududu. The author is old and his previous book was also a copy of the period literature. This book started with the soundtrack, and the angle of entry is quite interesting.

"The Era: Starting from the Shanghai Dubbing Studio", author: Ruyi Keyboard. The book above started from the soundtrack, and this one started from the dubbing film.

"Back to the 80s: My Literary Life", author: Morigai. This book also follows the plot of a writer + editor, but the main job of the protagonist in the early stage is a security guard, and the plot is a bit scattered and light. It would be perfect if it were more compact.

Okay, I’ve finished promoting the book, that’s all.

I look forward to meeting you again in the next book.

Sitting and watching Jingting on December 19th.
