Chapter 16 Qin Shitou

Then I heard his stomach rumble loudly.

Didn't you eat lunch?

Zhou Qiqi asked with concern.

Qin Shi blushed, scratched his head sheepishly, and explained.

"I arrived around 1 p.m., but I was afraid of disturbing my sister-in-law's rest, so I didn't dare to knock on the door and stood guard outside for an hour."

Zhou Qiqi was touched when she heard this. This child seemed honest and was so thoughtful and considerate.

She quickly said, "Sit down for a while, I'll go get you some food right away, you can't go hungry."

Qin Lei quickly came over, his face full of anticipation.

"Is it stewed meat? They say your stewed meat smells amazing!"

Seeing the noodle sauce that Zhou Qiqi brought out, he couldn't help but look disappointed.

"Huh? Isn't that right?"

His face changed like a Sichuan opera, his joy, anger, sorrow and happiness were all written on his face, and whatever he was thinking, he would say it all out loud, he couldn't hide it at all.

Zhou Qiqi was amused by him and quickly comforted him.

"There's no other way. We don't have a refrigerator at home, and meat doesn't keep well, so we can't afford to buy too much. We'll just have to make do with what we have today. Tomorrow, your sister-in-law will definitely stew some meat for you, and there will be plenty!"

Qin Shi was initially a little sullen, but the moment he took his first bite of noodles, his eyes instantly lit up with stars.

He mumbled incoherently, "Sister-in-law, this noodle soup is so delicious!"

Zhou Qiqi added eggs to her hand-pulled noodles, making them smooth and chewy, much tastier than regular noodles.

Qin Shi ate three large bowls of food in one go, as if he hadn't eaten for three days and three nights. He even ate all the noodles that Zhou Qiqi had originally planned to save for stir-frying in the afternoon.

After finishing the noodles, he licked the plate clean.

"Sister-in-law, I've changed my mind. I feel like you're not like a young girl, but like a fairy godmother!"

This made Zhou Qiqi laugh again.

She simply couldn't imagine how Shen Huaichuan could always have such a cold face when there was such a cheerful person by his side.

That's puzzling.

After dinner, Zhou Qiqi went to the military base with Qin Lei.

On their way from the military dependents' quarters to the military district office, many soldiers passed by and all gave the two of them sidelong glances.

Qin Lei was a chatterbox; nine out of ten people in the military camp knew him, knowing that he was the orderly of the cold-faced Yama Shen Huaichuan.

Zhou Qiqi, who was standing next to him, was a completely unfamiliar face, so everyone naturally guessed that she was the new bride of the King of Hell.

Everyone was very curious and gathered at a distance, craning their necks to peek. However, their gazes were not like those of the women in the house; instead, they were quite friendly.

Qin Lei provided commentary from the side.

"Since you came, the commander has become gentler, and our training has become much easier. We are all very grateful to you!"

"Yeah?"

This was the first time Zhou Qiqi had faced so many people's gazes, but she wasn't shy and waved to them generously.

This action made the soldiers who were peeking even more embarrassed. They blushed and, like startled rabbits, ran to a more distant place to continue secretly watching.

Soon they arrived at the logistics department, where the director was a kind-looking middle-aged man surnamed Lin. He was very polite and had a friendly smile on his face.

"I've reviewed Huaichuan's application. It can be built, but there's a problem."

Zhou Qiqi's attitude towards different people is different. Right now, she is very humble and polite, with a smile on her face and a very gentle attitude.

"What's the problem? Please tell me."
