Just then, Shen Huaichuan came out from the inner room. "The hot water is ready. Go take a shower."
Zhou Qiqi then came to her senses, took the nightgown, and walked towards the bathroom.
Shen Huaichuan adjusted the water temperature perfectly, and the warm water washed away the smell of hot pot from her body, as well as the last trace of fatigue from Zhou Qiqi.
She changed into a slip dress and walked out of the bathroom, leaving a faint fragrance.
All the other lights in the house were off, except for a small nightlight in the bedroom, whose dim yellow light peeked through the crack in the door and cast a thin strip of light on the floor.
When she pushed open the bedroom door, Shen Huaichuan was making the bed with his back to her.
He had just showered and was wearing only dark blue shorts. His bare upper body still had wet patches and shone with a healthy tan under the light.

Zhou Qiqi's cheeks instantly heated up, even hotter than when she was steaming in the bath.
She took a deep breath, without flinching or trying to hide it.
In fact, she deliberately placed the things there, just waiting for him to find them.
She walked up to him, her voice slightly hoarse from the moisture, but still very clear.
"Huaichuan, this is what I just got from Sister Cuixiang."
She paused, organizing her thoughts, trying to make her tone sound calm and honest.
"I'm not ready to have children right now."
She looked directly into his eyes, her tone sincere, her eyelashes fluttering slightly.
“I think we’re still too young, and…and…my career is just starting to take off, I want to do more, save more money, and Zhouzhou and I are only just getting to know each other, I want to spend more time with her, and…”
Images of her parents arguing during her childhood suddenly flooded her mind: the shattering sound of a glass breaking on the floor, her mother's cries, her father's roars... Her voice lowered, carrying a hint of grievance that she herself was unaware of.
"I want to...I want to wait until things are more stable, until I..."
