Chapter 188 The Truth

The air in the square was extremely scorching.

Qiu Chunfang cried her heart out, Li Hongjuan pointed her finger at her and berated her, and Lin Yao occasionally chimed in to help. All of them regarded Zhou Qiqi as an enemy.

The military wives who were watching around them looked on with curiosity and suspicion, and the buzzing of their discussions never stopped.

Zhou Qiqi has been in this military dependents' area for three months and hasn't had a moment's peace. In the eyes of the military wives, she's always been a troublemaker.

They were busy building toilets and setting up shower rooms. Last month, when they went to the movies, Qiu Chunfang and a few others fell into a cesspool, making a huge fool of themselves.

Not long ago, she had a falling out with Director Zhou Shuhua and managed to oust Zhou Shuhua, who had served as the women's director for two years.

Everyone knew there was going to be some excitement, and their eyes widened in astonishment.

Zhou Qiqi squeezed into the crowd, took a deep breath, and suppressed the anger in her heart.

She ignored Li Hongjuan and Lin Yao's smug faces, her eyes like knives, staring straight at Qiu Chunfang, who was still throwing a tantrum on the ground. Her voice was clear and melodious, like a lark.

"Qiu Chunfang! What are you yelling about! Isn't it your duty to pay? If it weren't for your clumsy, clueless Zhao Yaozu suddenly rushing onto the playground, and Yingying swerving to avoid hitting him, would she have fallen so badly? Would she have scraped her leg? You, as her mother, should be the one to pay for her medical expenses!"

As soon as she finished speaking, two little boys with sweat beading on their foreheads popped out from behind her, waving their hands and shouting excitedly.

"That's it! That's exactly it!"

“I saw it too! I was sitting in the back of the tricycle with Xiangyang, and I saw it clearly!”

"Zhao Yaozu?"

The military wife in the floral-patterned jacket who had previously complained about Lin Yao's poor attitude at the dentist immediately chimed in, eager to stir up trouble.

"Oh my god, I knew it! That kid has absolutely no manners! He's always running around like a little firecracker! Last time he even pulled my bed sheet, which I had left drying in the sun by the door, onto the floor!"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

The military wife holding her child next to her couldn't help but chime in.

“My child was knocked down by him while rolling his hoop last time, and his mouth was bleeding. He sat on the ground and threw a tantrum, saying that his hoop was bent out of shape. When I said a few words to him, Aunt Qiu defended him and said that the child was just being unreasonable! How can he be unreasonable?”

"That Zhao Yaozu is just a brat!"

Another military wife chimed in indignantly.

"Qiu Chunfang, this isn't the first or second time your Yaozu has caused trouble. You deserve to pay compensation, and you still have the nerve to whine here?"

"Zhou Qiqi is right! You should pay for it!"

"That kid Zhao Yaozu really needs to be disciplined!"

The military wives started talking all at once, and the focus of their criticism quickly shifted from Zhou Qiqi to Qiu Chunfang and her troublemaking son.

All the pent-up frustration and anger from the past finally found an outlet.

Qiu Chunfang's face flushed red and then turned pale. Being publicly criticized for her son's faults was more painful than being directly scolded.

She panicked completely, and forgot all about crying, retorting in a shrill voice.

"Bullshit! Stop spouting nonsense! My Yaozu is perfectly fine! He's smart! It's your kids who are blind!"

Neither Deng Cuixiang nor Zhu Yingying expected the wind to change so suddenly.

He looked at Zhou Qiqi with some surprise.

When Deng Cuixiang was throwing a tantrum, she didn't say a word, not because she was scared, but because she kept giving winks to the little kids playing by the square.

These were all Jiang Xiangyang's "soldiers." When no one was paying attention, she specifically sent these little brats to call over the children from the playground that day.

Most of them had gone to school by now, and only two who were underage came out to testify, but that was enough.

Qiu Chunfang spoiled Zhao Yaozu rotten, making him the most disliked brat in the entire compound.

Compared to Zhou Qiqi's gossip, people are more annoyed by Zhao Yaozu.

Qiu Chunfang was arguing fiercely with everyone, but it was no use at all, and more people joined in criticizing Zhao Yaozu.

Seeing that Qiu Chunfang, that idiot, had been led astray again, Li Hongjuan cursed her inwardly as "useless" and quickly stepped forward to forcibly bring the topic back on track.

She tugged at Qiu Chunfang.

"Chunfang, we'll talk about Yaozu's matter later. Right now, we're talking about Zhou Qiqi taking money!"

As she spoke, she turned to the crowd, her face still bearing that feigned look of regret.

"Ladies, you be the judge! No matter what, Chunfang kindly gave Zhou Qiqi some money, and Zhou Qiqi personally promised not to gossip. And what happened? She turned around and told Sister-in-law Wang! What kind of behavior is this? This is called betrayal! This is called bullying others!"

As she spoke, she became increasingly heartbroken.

"Zhou Qiqi, relying on Commander Shen's high position and power, openly bullies us ordinary military families. She took money and then turned around and bit us. Is there any justice in this? Does she have the final say in this military family area?"

Li Hongjuan's words were extremely inflammatory, once again firmly pinning the accusations of "bullying others" and "betraying trust" on Zhou Qiqi.

Some military wives who were unaware of the inside story looked at Zhou Qiqi with complicated expressions.

Previously, Director Zhou had the final say on matters concerning the military spouses, but now even Director Zhou has been removed from his post by Zhou Qiqi...

Just then, a strong voice rang out from outside the crowd, "Make way for me!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw Hu Chunxiao with a livid face, followed by Wang Dasao, who looked anxious.

"Qiu Chunfang! Li Hongjuan! How dare you two turn around and slander Zhou Qiqi?"
