As they spoke, the two quickly arrived at the First Garment Factory.
As soon as they entered the factory area, Zhang Guoqiang's earlier awkwardness disappeared, and he led Zhou Qiqi straight to the production workshop.
When we signed the contract, we agreed to start work immediately, but the funds were delayed, and the purchase of fabric also took a few days longer.
So the two of them discussed and decided to first get rid of the old model renovation projects that were piling up in the factory.
The factory has a total of five production lines, and four of them are currently operating at full capacity.
"The clothing wholesalers in Huacheng are very anxious. The goods haven't even been produced yet, and they've already been all ordered. Once the payment arrives in a few days, we'll settle the accounts with you immediately."
Zhang Guoqiang pointed to the neatly stacked garments on the assembly line, his tone tinged with pride.
After introducing this area, Zhang Guoqiang took Zhou Qiqi to the newest workshop.
"This is the production line you contracted. The equipment is all set up and the workers are all trained. We'll cut the ribbon and start production first thing tomorrow morning!"
Just then, a group of workers came over pushing several carts, with bundles of yarn piled on them.
Zhou Qiqi took a look and saw that the person in the lead was none other than Master Ma, who had brought the new design that would be put into production tomorrow.
It was the sweater dress with detachable sweater sleeves that Zhou Qiqi had designed and modified before.
Zhang Guoqiang smiled broadly.
"The last one sold very well in Huacheng, but unfortunately there wasn't enough stock to meet demand. This time we've put in a lot more effort to produce it, made some minor changes to the details, and added a few more colors. I reckon this will definitely be a bestseller this season!"
Looking at the neat and orderly workshop and Master Ma's eager expression, Zhou Qiqi was also filled with enthusiasm and anticipation.
Busy times fly by.
After Zhou Qiqi finished handling all the details before the start of construction in the city, she looked up at the window and saw that it was already getting dark.
When Zhang Guoqiang took her back to the wholesale market, he saw the familiar donkey cart parked by the roadside.
Zhao Damei was sitting on the carriage shaft waiting for her.
Zhou Qiqi laughed and said, "My bicycle is still in the backyard of the stall. I'll go and push it over."
Zhao Damei glanced at her, gestured with her chin toward the back of the donkey cart, and said with a hint of amusement in her voice.
“I put it on the donkey cart a long time ago. I knew you wouldn’t want to ride it if you could sit on it.”
In front of Sister Da Mei, Zhou Qiqi felt like a little sister, with everything being taken care of by her.
She didn't refuse and quickly climbed onto the donkey cart, sitting next to Zhao Damei on her special cushion.
The donkey cart clattered along the street in the evening. The streetlights came on, casting a dim yellow light on the ground and casting two long shadows.
The evening breeze, carrying a touch of coolness, brushed against my cheeks, blowing away all the day's fatigue.
Zhou Qiqi leaned closer to Zhao Damei, feeling a sweet warmth in her heart.
Life is like this donkey cart, taking one step at a time, steady and reliable, with a promising future!
When they arrived at the family compound, Zhao Damei helped unload the bicycle, and Zhou Qiqi took her home, telling her to wait in the yard while she went to the Wang family to call Wang Dasao over.
Wang Dasao was absentmindedly watering the flowers in the yard when she heard Zhao Damei was coming. She dropped the water ladle with a "clatter" and spilled water all over the ground without caring.
She quickly wiped her hands haphazardly on her apron and continued running after Zhou Qiqi to her house.
At first, she thought Zhao Damei had forgiven them and would continue selling flowers as before. Later, when she learned that she was only taking a little time out of her day, she felt a little disappointed.
But for her, Zhao Damei's willingness to come back was already a great blessing.
She suggested that the profit split be changed to 50/50, which Zhao Damei naturally refused, but her tone was unusually firm, with a kind of resolute determination.
"It has to be split 50/50! I'll talk to my mother-in-law! I grew all these flowers and plants, so I'm in charge of this business!"
Seeing the light in her eyes, Zhao Damei and Zhou Qiqi knew they couldn't persuade her otherwise, so they made the decision.
But things didn't go so smoothly at all.
When Granny Wang found out, she immediately jumped up and down, refusing to agree no matter what. She grabbed a water ladle from the water vat and splashed it all over Wang Dasao's face.
The water in the vat was all well water. On such a cold day, it poured over Wang Da Sao, dripping down her hair and freezing her lips until they turned purple.
But this time, Wang Da Sao did not bow her head and compromise as usual. Instead, she rushed into the greenhouse, took out a bottle of pesticide, unscrewed the cap, and held it high.
“I’ll make the decision! If you don’t agree, I’ll drink this medicine today! Anyway, I’ve had enough of this life, so just pretend I’m not your wife!”
Her hand holding the bottle trembled violently, and tears, or perhaps the cold water that had just been splashed, streamed down her chin.
Grandma Wang turned pale with fright and took several steps back, her finger trembling as she pointed at Sister-in-law Wang, unable to speak coherently.
"You...you're crazy? Are you really going to risk your life for these few flowers and plants?"
Commander Wang was also stunned by his wife's reckless attitude. He turned to the terrified old woman and spoke in a tone that was more forceful than ever before.
"Mom! Just say less! You're getting old, so don't worry about anything at home anymore, leave it all to my wife!"
Grandma Wang looked at her son's ashen face, then at her daughter-in-law's reckless attitude, and then at the bottle of pesticide with its yellowed label.
Her legs went weak, and she slumped into a chair with a thud, her lips trembling as she repeated the same few words over and over.
"Fine, fine... you guys decide, I don't care anymore... I don't care anymore..."
