Chapter 338 Scene Reconstruction

After explaining everything, the elderly couple from the Shen family not only did not feel tired, but felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off their shoulders. Their breathing became much easier, and their eyes regained their light.

The family didn't dare to delay and immediately drove to Grandpa Zhai's residence in the city.

The old man was hospitalized a while ago, but he has now returned home to recuperate and seems to be in good spirits.

After Zhou Qiqi succinctly explained Zhouzhou's situation and the results of the family's discussion, the old man immediately took it seriously and patted his chest, saying that he would take care of the matter.

But he also told Zhou Qiqi and the others not to rush, to sit down and have a drink of water, and that he needed to go and submit an application report immediately.

Grandpa Zhai gave a brief explanation.

It turns out that his granddaughter, Dr. Zhai Mo, lives far away in the United States. They usually communicate by letter, and it takes almost a month for the letters to travel across the ocean.

If there was an emergency, a telegram would be sent, but it would take two or three days to get a reply.

I rarely make overseas calls, firstly because the cost is really frightening, costing several dollars per minute.

Secondly, and most importantly, given their family's status, such private international communications fall under the category of "foreign affairs," meaning they can't just make calls whenever they want. They must submit a report and application beforehand, and afterwards, they must write a special explanation to report the matter.

Zhou Qiqi suddenly realized what was going on, and a surge of warmth welled up in her heart, filled with both gratitude and apology:

"So...so this is so troublesome! Professor Zhai, you helped contact Dr. Zhai so many times for Zhouzhou's sake, and each time we had to submit reports for approval. This...this is really too much trouble for you! We feel so bad about it!"

Grandpa Zhai waved his hand dismissively, his tone quite magnanimous:

"Oh, what's the trouble? I like Zhouzhou as soon as I see her. Huaichuan is a fine hero, and you are a capable girl. As for the Shen family elders, they are old revolutionaries whom I have long admired. I am happy to be able to do something for you! This is nothing."

Although he spoke lightly, Shen Zhenbang and Qin Peilan cherished this friendship deeply in their hearts.

Shen Zhenbang stepped forward, grasped the old man's hand, and said solemnly:

"Grandpa, you've really gone to a lot of trouble with Zhouzhou! The Shen family will remember this favor!"

Reminded by Grandpa Zhai, Shen Zhenbang and Qin Peilan immediately took action. Leveraging their special status and influence in the military region, they promptly reported the situation to the relevant departments, explaining the urgency and importance of the matter.

The report was submitted and received expedited approval, which was granted smoothly in a short time.

Sitting in the jeep on the way back, Shen Zhenbang looked at the street scenes rushing past the window and couldn't help but sigh to his wife beside him:

"Perlan, we've really troubled our old comrades and leaders a lot on this trip for Zhouzhou. We owe them so many favors that we can't even fill a notebook."

You should know that the elderly couple used to dislike owing favors to others, especially Qin Peilan.

She would rather suffer hardship herself than owe anyone a favor.

But at this moment, her back was ramrod straight, her eyes unusually clear, and she said without a care in the world:

"I'll take the debt! As long as Zhouzhou gets better, I'm willing to risk my reputation! We can pay back any favor later!"

Her energy and spirit were completely different from when she first arrived.

With expedited approvals and a green light all the way through, the procedures were completed surprisingly smoothly.

Around 8 p.m., in the special foreign-related communications room of the city's post and telecommunications bureau.

Zhou Qiqi finally grasped the heavy telephone receiver and heard Dr. Zhai's voice coming from across the ocean.

International calls are incredibly expensive; every minute and second feels like burning money.

But Zhou Qiqi wasn't worried. The first batch of payment for Shuimo Guanghua's goods had already been transferred, and she had plenty of money.

I took a deep breath, forced myself to calm down, and explained Zhouzhou's current situation in detail.

After she finished speaking, there was a brief silence on the other end of the phone. Dr. Zhai's tone was clearly incredulous as he said:

"This...is truly astonishing. It's very rare to achieve this level of skill without professional guidance, relying solely on instinct and observation."

It's no wonder Dr. Zhai was skeptical; it sounded too idealistic, even somewhat like a miracle.

It wasn't until Grandpa Zhai took over the conversation and added more details about Zhouzhou's situation that the conversation truly began.

Dr. Zhai couldn't help but believe her grandfather's words; she acknowledged Zhou Qiqi's efforts. However, the ensuing judgment made Zhou Qiqi's heart tighten:

"Based on your description, the chances of your child recovering naturally are very slim. It seems that 'scene recreation' is the only way to break the deadlock. However, it must be done by a professional psychologist."

Zhou Qiqi's heart sank; her worst fears had come true.

There are very few people with this kind of talent in China these days. Where can she find a professional psychologist?

Seemingly sensing her predicament over the phone line, Dr. Zhai's next words were like a reassuring pill:

"Don't worry, before I decided to make this call, I contacted several of my classmates in China. Although this field is almost non-existent in China, they are all very exploratory and very willing to help."

Dr. Zhai's efficiency is astonishing.

Two days later, two very professional-looking female doctors arrived at the military compound from out of town.

One of them, surnamed Wu, and the other, surnamed Chen, are both alumni of Dr. Zhai's school and now work in the relevant medical system.
