Chapter 82 Explains the Problem

She glanced at Qin Lei, paused for a moment, and then said with a disdainful look.

"Why is it you, a common soldier? Where's Shen Huaichuan?"

Qin Lei frowned, his straightforward soldier nature kicking in, and gave her a disgruntled glare.

"Our commander thinks you're in his way! He's moved you to a VIP ward!"

At this moment, Zhou Qiqi only wanted to find out what was going on with Shen Huaichuan. She couldn't care about anything else. She didn't even glance at Lin Yao and grabbed Qin Lei's arm directly.

"Where are you? Take me there now?"

"good."

Without saying a word, Qin Lei took Zhou Qiqi and left, with Zhu Yingying quickly following behind.

They were in such a hurry that they didn't even bother to pick up their bags from the ground.

The short-haired nurse, Xiaoyuan, helped pick it up and quickly chased after it.

"No, how come they all left?"

Lin Yao was still standing there dumbfounded, not understanding what was going on, when she saw everyone leave, so she quickly chased after them.

The military region's VIP wards are located on the top floor, the fourth floor, in a small, secluded area.

Two soldiers in crisp uniforms stood at the entrance, their semi-automatic rifles gleaming coldly at their waists, looking exceptionally dignified.

Qin Lei led his two sisters-in-law, Zhou Qiqi and Zhu Yingying, into the ward first; the door was still open.

The young nurse, Xiaoyuan, was stopped at the door, so she had to explain to the soldiers and hand over her bag to them so they could give it to the commander's wife.

Lin Yao arrived breathless and actually tried to sneak in as well, shouting at the top of her lungs.

"I was with those two women in front of me! They were also relatives of Shen Huaichuan!"

He squeezed through the door as he spoke.

Xiao Yuan shouted quickly.

"No! The commander doesn't want to see her at all!"

The two soldiers exchanged a glance, stood side by side in front of the door, blocking it completely like iron, and simultaneously reached for their rifles at their waists.

The dark muzzle of the gun was pointed there, creating a strong sense of oppression.

Lin Yao had never seen anything like this before. She was so scared that her soul almost flew out of her body. She took two steps back and fell to the ground with a thud.

The young nurse covered her mouth and laughed, silently thinking to herself, "Serves him right!"

She turned around and hummed a tune as she went downstairs.

On Zhou Qiqi's side.

As she walked, she asked Qin Lei, "What exactly happened?"

Qin Lei talked nonstop, like a machine gun.

"Who knows! That Lin Yao somehow found out that our commander was hospitalized here, and she's been coming over every day to bring him soup. Our commander has been ignoring her, but when she saw her coming again just now, she quickly asked the head doctor to move her to a VIP ward!"

"Previously, the team leader didn't want any special treatment and was unwilling to stay in a VIP ward."

"Believe me, sister-in-law, the regimental commander has absolutely nothing to do with her!"

"He even made me wait in the ward so I could talk to that woman and tell her to stop bothering me!"

Zhou Qiqi was completely overwhelmed by what she heard. She finally managed to catch her breath before saying helplessly.

"That's not what I'm asking. I want to know, how did Shen Huaichuan get injured?"

Unlike Qiu Chunfang and the others, she didn't believe everything she heard or heard.

She could basically tell that this was probably just a misunderstanding.

It's all Lin Yao's doing. It sounds like she has something to ask Shen Huaichuan.

"Oh! That's what happened..."

Qin Lei scratched his buzz cut before slowly beginning to speak.

During the military region's armed cross-country race a few days ago, when the officers' squad led by Shen Huaichuan were crossing a cliff section at night, one of the officers accidentally slipped and fell. Shen Huaichuan grabbed him without regard for his own safety.

As a result, he crashed headfirst into the protruding rock face...

Qin Lei spoke casually, but Zhou Qiqi was terrified, her nails digging almost into her palms.

How serious is it?

Her voice was as light as a feather, and it trembled violently.

Just then, a suppressed cough came from the ward ahead—"Cough cough cough..."

Zhou Qiqi walked quickly to the door, placed her hand on the doorknob, but suddenly hesitated.

Qin Lei was quick-witted; he dashed inside and whispered a few words in Shen Huaichuan's ear.

Just as Zhou Qiqi gritted her teeth and pushed the door open, Shen Huaichuan turned his face around.

The moment their eyes met, Zhou Qiqi felt a sudden pang of sadness.

Having spent over a month with Shen Huaichuan, I'd never seen him like this before—he's always been aloof and spirited.

With a stubble beard and a haggard face, his hospital gown hung loosely on his body. He had clearly lost weight and was nowhere to be seen as the powerful figure he used to be in the military region.

"You..." "You..."

The two opened their mouths at the same time, and then closed them at the same time.

Shen Huaichuan tried to sit up, supporting himself on the bed sheet, but the movement aggravated the injury to his ribs, causing him to cough so hard that his shoulders trembled.

"Don't move! Don't speak!"

Zhou Qiqi quickly stepped forward, reached out and pressed her hand on his shoulder, tears trembling as they fell from the corners of her eyes.

The two clearly had something to say, so Zhu Yingying pulled Qin Lei, who was watching the show with great interest, out of the room, leaving them alone, and thoughtfully closed the door behind her.

The room was so quiet you could hear the medicine dripping from the IV drip.

Zhou Qiqi stared at the dark circles under Shen Huaichuan's eyes, her heart aching as if being scratched by a cat. She asked, "Why aren't you saying anything?"

Shen Huaichuan blinked, his voice hoarse as if sandpaper had been rubbed against it, "You won't let me say it."

Zhou Qiqi was both embarrassed and upset, so she deliberately kept a straight face.

"Now it's your turn to talk! Confess!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Shen Huaichuan started talking rapidly, much faster than usual. Perhaps his emotions had eased up since his injury, but his brows and eyes were still tense.

"She called me before, but I never answered. I don't know why she called again. She's not calling to get back together with me, it's..."
