Chapter 15 Xiao Mei Makes a Fortune
Upon hearing this, Ma Qijun leaned forward to look.
The fair-smiling face was carrying a basket that was too big for his body, and holding a bird cage in his hands as he squeezed through the crowd.
Looking closely, I found that it was a red parrot.
I can understand that this girl raises rabbits, but does she like birds?
"Xiao Mei made a fortune! Xiao Mei made a fortune."
Ye Xiaomei lifted the bird cage and took a look, with an admiring smile on her face: "So good."
“Puff!”
Ma Qijun laughed so hard that his face turned red.
The mountain road on the way back was washed clean by yesterday's rain, but the heat was much stronger than yesterday, making people feel uncomfortable. The rocks seemed to be whitened by the sun, and one look at them would burn your eyes.
"Xiao Mei made a fortune, Xiao Mei made a fortune."
"Please stop talking. I'm dying of thirst." Ye Xiaomei's water bottle was empty.
After finally persevering to get under the big willow tree, Ye Xiaomei looked at the sliced red watermelons on the watermelon stall and swallowed hard, her throat aching.
At this moment, Ye Xiaomei's pupils shrank. Oh no! She could hold on, but the rabbit couldn't.
She hurried to the tree and took the watermelon basket by herself without paying attention to how the owner of the watermelon stall was promoting it. She saw that the rabbits were sticking out their tongues due to the heat, and their whiskers were trembling in a fast rhythm at the corners of their three-petal lips with their rapid breathing.
Several cubs had their pink mouths open, and two of them were lying on their bellies shaking rapidly. It must be too hot. She said her skills were not good enough, or else she should have considered bringing more water with her grandfather.
Ye Xiaomei was panicking, this was the beginning of her fortune, and in the future she would have to pay for Xiaoya's tuition, and buy her nice school bags and sandals, and she absolutely could not let her be looked down upon.
Ye Xiaomei looked around. If she had no money to sell the watermelons, couldn't she borrow a bowl of water?
It was obvious that the man was selling watermelons. If he had borrowed some water, he would have been able to sell the watermelons.
Ye Xiaomei suddenly saw the watermelon rind left by the customer.
He grabbed a handful of it, not even bothering to throw away the mud on it, wiped it with his sleeves, broke it into small pieces and put it in the basket.
I picked up a few more pieces. There was no need to pry them apart because the two big rabbits could chew them by themselves.
The sound of "bang bang" was heard. Ye Xiaomei wiped the sweat off her forehead and her mood improved a lot.
The owner of the watermelon stall stared at it and stretched his head to look at the frame: "Girl, it would be great if you could buy some watermelon for Rabbit. It's very juicy."
Ye Xiaomei waved her hands awkwardly: "No thanks." She thought to herself: When she makes money, she will buy a sack of watermelons to eat as much as she wants.
At this moment, a voice came from afar: "Dad, give me some money quickly."
Looking up, I saw a young man of about eighteen or nineteen wiping his sweat as he came down from the tree.
The stall owner was obviously annoyed, his face was not even nose: "Why do you want money again?"
"I accidentally braked my bike and crashed into a telephone pole. It costs thirty dollars..." Before Xiuyi could finish his sentence, the young man looked at Ye Xiaomei in surprise.
Ye Xiaomei also recognized him, the one who whistled while riding a bicycle and crashed into a telephone pole.
Ye Xiaomei quickly lowered her head and pretended she knew nothing.
"Hey, you're from Plum Blossom Village? How come I didn't know there were such pretty girls in Plum Blossom Village? What's your last name? Where do you live?"
The young man changed his tone instantly and walked towards Ye Xiaomei.
The watermelon boss stared with his eyes wide open, then snorted coldly and sat down on the stool, glaring at his son with an expression of disappointment, asking, "What kind of thing does it cost thirty dollars to repair?"
Ye Xiaomei's scalp tingled when she was asked this question. How could she not understand from that look? She wanted to dig her eyeballs out and throw them into her clothes.
Ye Xiaomei quickly picked up a few watermelon rinds, put the bamboo basket on her back and left.
"Let me carry it for you. You are so weak, I can tell you can't carry it."
"Zhang Changjiang, get the hell back here." The watermelon boss stood up and shouted. Why did he have to flirt with this wanton girl from the Ye family when he could have flirted with any other girl.
"Dad, I'll come back to ask you for money later." Zhang Changjiang didn't listen at all. He followed and circled around Ye Xiaomei:
"Why don't you speak? I'm not a wolf and I won't eat you."
Ye Xiaomei quickened her pace.
The young man's steps were even faster. He rushed to the front and held Ye Xiaomei down with his arms outstretched:
"Speak up, auntie. I just asked you where you came from. I didn't say anything about you."
As he said this, Zhang Changjiang's eyes subconsciously fell on Ye Xiaomei's chest. Every inch of her skin outside her clothes was so white that it was more dazzling than the sun shining on stone.
What if it's inside clothes? Wouldn't it be... even more exciting?
"Go away!" Ye Xiaomei moved to the left and tried to avoid him.
Zhang Changjiang stretched out his arms to the left like an eagle catching a chick.
After going back and forth two or three times, Ye Xiaomei finally raised her eyes and looked at Zhang Changjiang.
Ye Xiaomei doesn't know how to tell good from bad people with her eyes, but she doesn't have the kind of integrity that Ma Qijun has in his eyes, so she must not be any better.
"I won't leave unless you tell me your name and where you live."
Zhang Changjiang acted like a rogue, looking Ye Xiaomei up and down with greedy eyes.
The two dodged and argued for no less than half an hour under the scorching sun. Ye Xiaomei was worried about the rabbit in the basket and became more and more anxious.
He went up and slapped her: "Are you going to leave or not?"
Ye Xiaomei subconsciously looked at her numb hands, then at Zhang Changjiang who was covering his face.
What should I do? She hit someone, and if he hits back, she will definitely not be able to beat him.
"Oh, the little girl is quite temperamental. However, your hands are so soft, as if they have no bones. I don't feel any pain at all."
The expression on Zhang Changjiang's face became visibly stiff, and he almost gritted his teeth as he said this, but there was a hint of determination in his eyes.
Ye Xiaomei was frightened and stepped back towards the village.
The corner of Zhang Changjiang's mouth curled up in a frightening arc, as if he wanted to kill her.
Ye Xiaomei suddenly heard the sound of bicycle bells coming from the village behind her.
Ye Xiaomei didn't dare to look back, she just stared at Zhang Changjiang, afraid that he would rush over to her.
After all, it was noon and there were few people on the road.
The bicycle was getting closer and closer: "Zhang Changjiang!"
Ye Xiaomei clearly noticed that Zhang Changjiang's eyes were startled, and he instantly shifted his gaze away from her and looked behind her.
Ye Xiaomei then turned around to look.
It was Ye Xiaolin. The brand new Phoenix bicycle she was riding was the one Wang Juan had bought this month.
"Zhang Changjiang, didn't you go to the county to buy shoes for me?" Ye Xiaolin got off the bicycle and held it in her hand without even looking at her cousin.
Zhang Changjiang softened immediately and said with a smile: "My car broke down, so I came back to ask my dad for some money. Don't worry, you like those crystal shoes, don't you? I'll buy you two pairs."
Ye Xiaolin subconsciously looked at Ye Xiaomei and thought: What's the big deal? It was just bought by a cripple. It's as if everyone has no man to buy things for them.
