Chapter 17 The Wicked Mother-in-Law Gets Tortured by Villains!

Sister Sun tucked a stray hair behind her ear with her hand.

"Okay, I can do your laundry, but give me an extra two yuan!"

"good."

Song Weidong was reluctant to spend the money, but he couldn't refuse. His sister couldn't do anything, so why should he do it?

Sister Sun was finally satisfied. Seeing the tightly closed door in front of her, she strode over and pushed it open.

A pungent smell wafted towards them, and seeing the disheveled old lady on the bed, they immediately went over to her affectionately.

"Big sister!"

Cao Guifen slowly opened her eyes and saw a person suddenly standing in front of her, dressed in blue clothes and wearing a white hat. The person was smiling at her, but the smile was somewhat eerie.

Sister Sun knew that people were watching, so she didn't hesitate to hold the old woman's hand.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you now that I'm here. I'll start cleaning up for you now, and then I'll cook you something to eat for lunch. What would you like to eat today?"

Cao Guifen looked at her son, who was standing at the door covering his nose.

"Dongzi, who is this person?"

"Mom, this is the nanny I found for you. She'll take care of your needs from now on. I have to go to work, and my sister has to go to school, so we need someone to take care of the family." Song Weidong thought about his meager salary. It seemed he had to move up his steel-stealing plan, otherwise his salary and the gifts he received wouldn't be enough to cover his expenses.

He resented Lu Zhixia again for running away from home.

Cao Guifen knew that the nanny would cost money, and although she opened her mouth to refuse, she couldn't bring herself to say it because her son and daughter wouldn't serve her.

She noticed these past two days that when Lu Zhixia is around, the floor in the house needs to be mopped twice.

She also needs her bedding and other personal items, which are changed every day when they get dirty. Her face is washed several times a day, and her hair is washed every three days in the summer.

Even in winter, it wouldn't last more than 10 days; that woman took such good care of her! She even made her forget that she was disabled!

Sister Sun turned around and came to the man. "Alright, you can go out now. I'll tidy up the old lady and then make her lunch."

"Then I'll leave everything to you. I'm going to work now."

Song Weidong felt relieved after abandoning his responsibilities and leaving, and his steps became lighter.

He had no idea that Sister Sun's eyes changed the moment he turned around.

Hearing the door close, Sister Sun turned around and saw the old lady still lying there.

She ignored everything and went to the kitchen, opened the cabinet, and took out flour and eggs to make herself some hand-pulled egg noodles.

The rest can be given to that old man; this kind of regular job is good.

Cao Guifen waited and waited, but no one came to clean her up. Her stomach was so full of discomfort that she had no choice but to have diarrhea.

As soon as Sister Sun entered the house after finishing her meal, she smelled that familiar aroma. She looked at the old woman with disdain.

"You're not that old, how come you're incontinent? If it weren't for your son, who has some money, you'd be dead in bed by now!"

"You were hired by my son, what right do you have to talk to me like that!" Cao Guifen retorted defiantly, but the moment the woman strode over aggressively, she immediately backed down.

"I didn't mean to, but they wouldn't clean it up for me, so I just couldn't hold it in and I pooped."

“Then you should eat less from now on. From now on, I’ll be in charge of this family. You can decide what to say and what not to say.” Sister Sun put her hands on her hips. “If I don’t take care of you, your son will have to find someone else to come back, but whether they will be as easy to talk to as I am is another matter.”

"I'll listen, I'll listen!" Cao Guifen was frightened. The woman in front of her was a stranger, and she thought of the feeling of being covered by a pillow.

She still wanted to live!

Sister Sun took out a mask from her bag and put it on. She lifted the blanket and glanced at the old lady. "No wonder your son doesn't want to clean up for you. You're so slovenly, who can stand you!"

Cao Guifen lowered her head in fear, her heart filled with intense hatred for Lu Zhixia.

If she hadn't run away from home, how could I have suffered like this?

When Lu Zhixia returned to her residence, she saw Su Lan cooking and placing the groceries she had bought next to the cabinet.

Su Lan saw that she had bought so many things, including pots and pans.

"You're really too generous with money. If you don't have anything, just borrow it from me. Why waste money?"

Lu Zhixia knew that some things should be listened to, and some things shouldn't. There's a saying: "A small favor is appreciated, but a large one breeds resentment." You can't take advantage of someone just because they're kind; otherwise, even the best relationship will be worn away.

"These are all things I need, so I bought them. I didn't dare to buy too many; I just need them to cook a simple meal and have some dishes."

"So you're going to cook for yourself today?" Su Lan asked.

"Yes, I cook for myself, and I bought all the groceries," Lu Zhixia said with a smile.

Su Lan felt embarrassed about her earlier little scheme; she had thought she would have to eat out again tonight.

After all, the monthly ration is limited. If Lu Zhixia were to eat it, it would be equivalent to reducing her own or her child's food intake.

“I’ll clear out a space in the cabinet for you to put your things, like food, you can put it in the room. There are a lot of people around here, so this cabinet must be locked at night.”

Su Lan squatted down and began organizing the cabinets, taking what could be put inside into the room.

Finally, she cleared out a blank space and then continued cooking.

Lu Zhixia took the pots, pans, and chopsticks she had bought to the water room to wash them, and then lit a fire on another honeycomb briquette stove to cook.

To save time, I decided to chop the vegetables, put them in a bowl, add salt and oil, and steam them. Then I washed a handful of rice and put it in a basin.

Place a steamer rack inside the iron pot, add some water, then place the bowl on the rack and cover it with the lid.

Cut the salted dough into strips, then pour in sesame oil, add some MSG and chopped green onions, and stir with chopsticks to release the flavor.

Su Lan leaned closer. "Girl, your cooking is amazing! You shredded the pickled vegetables so finely!" She sniffed the vegetables. "What did you put in that smells so good?"

Lu Zhixia took out the sesame oil bottle. "I put some of this in. Just a few drops will make it smell very nice."

"So it's sesame oil." Su Lan wiped her hands on her apron. "I'll buy some when I get paid next month."

“Sesame oil keeps well; one ounce will last a long time.” Lu Zhixia put the bottle back. “Sister Lan, you can take it anytime you want.”

"I'll get paid in a few days, then I can buy it."

Su Lan felt sorry for Lu Zhixia, who had already spent so much money before even starting to earn any. She just wanted to see if she could help in any way.

"Sesame oil, can I borrow it?" Liu Yue'e walked over while cracking sunflower seeds. "I need to go back and mix some shredded potatoes with it. I'm craving something delicious."

He thought to himself that as long as he could borrow it, he would go back and pour himself a small bowl to eat slowly.

Lu Zhixia's face immediately turned cold. "Sorry, sesame oil is not available for lending."

Her scheme failed, and Liu Yue'e angrily spat out the sunflower seed shells from her mouth.

"I just saw it. There's at least an ounce of sesame oil in that bottle. Can I use some?"
