Chapter 228 Cao Guifen dies!

Song Yaozu punched his father in the nose.

"brute!"

Song Weidong was almost knocked down, then felt a rush of heat from between his noses; when he touched it, his hand was covered in blood.

"How dare you hit me!"

"I'm hitting you!" Song Yaozu said righteously, "You're worse than a pig or a dog!"

Song Weidong never imagined he would be beaten by his son one day. He covered his nose with his left hand to stop the bleeding, then half-squatted down, picked up a brick with his right hand, and walked step by step towards his son.

"You little brat, is this how you repay me for giving birth to you?"

"Then I might as well just kill you today!"

"If I hadn't slept with that lunatic, how could you possibly exist?"

Song Yaozu was, after all, just a child. He was terrified as he watched his father walk towards him step by step, and kept backing away.

Without realizing it, I retreated to my grandmother's side, my back against the wall.

What are you going to do?

"So you know how to back down now? Where's the energy you had when you hit me earlier!" Song Weidong thought the kid was an ingrate, impossible to tame, so he might as well not raise him at all!

Anyway, there's no one around here, so even if I kill someone, no one will know.

Just as he got close, a hand grabbed his trouser leg, and he looked down.

The old woman woke up.

"You—no," Cao Guifen said with difficulty, then she closed her eyes and died completely.

"Mom!" Song Weidong quickly squatted down and shouted loudly.

Cao Guifen could no longer respond, and her hand went limp, releasing her from his trouser leg.

"Grandma!" Song Yaozu shouted, "You can't die!"

He had never experienced life and death, so he didn't think about how his grandmother usually loved him, would save the best food for him, and would secretly slip him money.

He is the second best person to him after his mother!

He burst into tears, saying, "Now that I'm dead, I'll never see you again."

Hearing his son cry, Song Weidong didn't empathize; instead, he kicked him.

"It's all because of you that your grandmother died of anger?"

"I didn't!" Song Yaozu raised his hand to wipe away his tears. "You're the one who angered Grandma to death!"

Song Weidong stood up and walked to his son's side. He raised his hand to slap him, but seeing that his son was crying so hard that he didn't seem to be faking it, he withdrew his hand.

This is so frustrating. So, they just died like that?

Being a mother is not easy in this lifetime, and he tossed and turned, filled with self-reproach!

If he hadn't divorced Lu Zhixia, he would still be living a life of luxury, with everything done for him and his grandmother being waited on. He would never have believed that he was now incontinent and emaciated!

He raised his hand and slapped himself, "I'll teach you to be that stupid again!"

Song Yaozu looked up at his father, "What do we do next?"

Song Weidong stared at the old man's corpse. The man was dead, but if he could make use of him, he could make those two scoundrels suffer!

Thinking of this, he looked at his son and asked, "Do you want revenge?"

"What grudge?" Song Yaozu asked.

Song Weidong: "If Lu Zhixia hadn't left, how could we, father and son, have ended up like this? It's all because of her selfishness!"

The image of Lu Zhixia doting on that little boy flashed through Song Yaozu's mind, and jealousy welled up inside him.

"What do you suggest we do?"

Song Weidong: "Go and call her over, and remember to only let her come alone."

Song Yaozu frowned, "But what if she didn't come alone!"

Song Weidong stared fiercely at his son. "Tell her that I have a serious illness and need money for treatment! If she's willing to give me the money, I'll tell her everything I know! But I'm afraid of being scammed, so I can only let her come alone! If she doesn't do as I say, then you just turn around and leave!"

Song Yaozu: "Dad, is it okay to say it like that?"

Song Weidong grabbed his son's collar with both hands. "I've already given you the instructions. If you don't handle this well, you're no longer my son. You can go wherever you want! As long as this is done, we can go back to our old life and never have to live under the overpass again!" He then shoved his son away. "What do you want to do? Choose for yourself!"

Song Yaozu looked at the dilapidated overpass, then at his father.

"Are you sure we can go back to our old life?"

Song Weidong wouldn't accept any criticism and roared, "Get there now, and stop talking nonsense!"

Song Yaozu was so frightened that he ran away immediately. He didn't know what his father was going to do, but he knew he would be in big trouble if he didn't go.

After seeing his son leave, Song Weidong turned back to look at his mother's body, then picked up a stone from the ground and walked over to it step by step.

"Mom, please don't blame me!"

"Since you're already dead, use your death to help me this once!"

As he finished speaking, he squatted down, picked up the stone in his hand, closed his eyes, and began striking it again and again—

——

Lu Zhixia slept in again, then washed her face and brushed her teeth. She sat at the table eating warm wontons, feeling that today was another fulfilling day.

Su Lan: "How is it? Isn't my bowl of wontons delicious?"

Lu Zhixia nodded, "It tastes pretty good, even though it's vegetarian."

Su Lan smiled, "As long as it tastes good, it's the recipe your brother-in-law taught me."

Lu Zhixia glanced around and, noticing Zhou Cheng wasn't in the room, asked Su Lan.

Where are the others?

"I've gone out to set up a stall," Su Lan said.

"How's your small business doing?" Lu Zhixia stirred the wontons in her bowl with a spoon. The previous batch of fabric had been made into finished products, but she didn't have time to sell them herself, so she simply handed them over to them to sell. She could just collect the cost price.
