By the time they arrived at the hospital, it was already broad daylight. After some treatment, the person was no longer in any danger.
After consulting with the doctor who treated the injured person, Lu Zhixia paid a deposit of 100 yuan to the injured person, ensuring that the subsequent treatment would be guaranteed.
The law enforcement team has taken over everything and assigned a professional female officer to question the woman when she regains consciousness.
The two stood in the corridor.
Zhou An'an: "What happens next is beyond our control."
Lu Zhixia said, "I hope this girl can pull through."
Zhou An'an said, "Why don't you leave her any message or something? That's 100 yuan, which would take an ordinary person three months to earn."
Lu Zhixia said, "Let's just consider it an act of kindness! I didn't expect her to pay it back when I gave it to her."
Zhou An'an: "Then let's set off now."
Lu Zhixia nodded, "Let's go."
They left the hospital with a confident stride and returned to the guesthouse, where they found their belongings packed and placed in the lobby, with the waiters and manager standing at the bar.
Lu Zhixia asked them directly, "What do you mean by this?"
The manager said bluntly, "Our place is small, and those people are deeply entrenched. We don't want to offend anyone."
Zhou An'an slammed his fist on the table, "What you're doing is utterly lawless!"
The manager brushed a stray hair from his ear and calmly said, "Anyway, you only booked a room for one night. We haven't broken any rules. Your things are all packed. You can check them!"
Zhou An'an finally understood what it meant to be a powerful dragon unable to suppress a local snake; these people were just looking down on others.
Lu Zhixia grabbed her arm and then spoke to the manager.
"First of all, what you're doing is against the rules. We can leave, but you must apologize!"
"Why should I?" the manager asked, arms crossed, his tone dismissive.
"Who do you think you are!"
Zhou An'an pulled out his ID from his pocket. "Apologize to me with this!"
Upon seeing the law enforcement credentials, the manager was initially startled, then took a closer look and laughed mockingly, "I thought he was something special. He's just a law enforcement officer from a city or county. What's he doing here showing off?"
Zhou An'an: "If that's what you mean, then let's report it to the police!"
The waiter tugged at the manager's clothes, reminding her that if this matter escalated, they wouldn't fare well either.
The female manager initially wanted to say a few more words, but after being reminded, she realized she had indeed gone a bit too far, so she calmly said something along those lines.
"Excuse me! You can leave now!"
Zhou An'an was furious at her attitude, but the last shred of reason pulled her back. If she continued to argue with them, she would miss her train again. She reached for the documents on the table and put them in her pocket.
"If you continue operating like this, you'll run into trouble sooner or later!"
The group remained silent, their only thought being to get rid of these two plagues.
Lu Zhixia and Zhou An'an checked their bags to make sure nothing was missing, nodded to each other, and then picked up their bags and walked out.
They had just opened the door and stepped out when they heard someone behind them say,
"Then I'll take your good wishes!"
Then came the laughter of those people.
Lu Zhixia turned around and retorted, "Your place will fall apart in less than two years. Don't think that just because you're a waitress, you're something special!"
"How could that be!" the manager said, hands on his hips. "We're paid by the state. As long as the country doesn't collapse, we'll keep eating!"
"We'll see! Let's see if I'm right!"
After saying this, Lu Zhixia pulled Zhou An'an away.
The manager was furious. Looking in the direction the two women left, she really wanted to chase after them and confront them.
"Those two ignorant bitches! If it weren't for them, how could we have offended anyone!"
"Manager, don't be angry, it's not worth it."
"Exactly, we don't need to hold a grudge."
The two of them took turns trying to appease the manager.
The little girl standing at the back couldn't help but say, "I think I heard that the government is indeed taking action in this regard—"
Upon hearing this, the group panicked. Losing their jobs would have a huge impact on them.
The manager grabbed the girl by the collar. "Where did you hear that?"
The little girl said timidly, "My dad heard it from someone on the train when he was on a business trip. I didn't tell anyone; I just thought it was nonsense!"
The manager panicked. If the government really took such action, she would no longer be a manager, and her fixed monthly salary would be gone.
Considering that the guesthouse was indeed not profitable, with very few guests staying each day, but still requiring a fixed monthly salary, it was bound to be a loss in the long run.
"What will I do if I lose my job?"
"I'm going to talk to my mom when I get home from get off work today and ask them to figure out a solution."
"Me too."
The manager watched the direction the two women had gone, wondering who they were.
Hospital.
Zhuang Lili woke up from her coma and saw a white wall in front of her, unlike the dim room. Then she saw the nurse next to her, who was dozing off.
Two faces involuntarily flashed into her mind; they were the ones who saved her!
"Hello." She managed to call out.
The nurse immediately opened her eyes and saw that the person had finally woken up. She quickly checked him over and confirmed that he was truly awake and not faking it. She then hurriedly went out and called the doctor in.
The female doctor asked, "Comrade, do you still remember who you are?"
Zhuang Lili nodded. "Am I saved?"
The female doctor said, "That's right, you're saved. You're safe now."
