Lu Zhixia laughed, "That's our fault for interrupting your good time!"
Fu Yanlin laughed along, "Don't take it to heart. I was just saying it casually. I'll confess on the way back later."
Lu Zhixia: "Do you just confess your feelings with your mouth?"
Fu Yanlin was taken aback, then asked, "Is there anything else?"
"Flowers! A ring," Lu Zhixia said, "or some touching words of confession."
Fu Yanlin realized how foolish he had been; he had only thought about confessing his feelings and hadn't prepared anything else.
"I understand, thank you for your advice!"
"Let's go back!" Lu Zhixia turned around and went back to the noodle shop.
Fu Yanlin followed closely behind and saw that the two of them had finished eating their wontons and were chatting familiarly.
Zhuang Ran asked, "Sister An'an, what are the requirements for women to join the law enforcement team?"
Zhou An'an, "I either got a job after graduating from school, or I served in the army and was discharged."
Zhuang Ran, like a curious child, continued, "Have you ever caught a bad guy before?"
Zhou An'an thought for a moment and said, "The biggest bad guy I caught was a thief. He stole so many things. If I hadn't been caught, he would still be stealing now!"
Zhuang Ran was excited after hearing this, "You're so amazing! I want to join the law enforcement team too. I'm so envious of your life!"
Zhou An'an took a sip of tea and put down the cup. "Actually, my job is quite tiring. I have to go to work very early in the morning and do all sorts of things. The most outrageous thing is helping people find their cats! Oh, and once I helped a grandma find her money. You wouldn't believe it, I searched for several days. Her house was a mess, full of things. In the end, I found it in a flowerpot!"
Zhuang Ran exclaimed, "So this is your business?!"
Zhou An'an nodded, "Yes, there's nothing I can't handle, so I'm exhausted every day. It's not an easy job. I only realized what it means to serve the people wholeheartedly after I became a law enforcement officer!"
Fu Yanlin chuckled, “Your description is quite apt, but it depends on the situation. Your law enforcement team must be from a small place. No cases go through your team, and you only deal with trivial matters.”
Zhou An'an slammed his hand on the table. "Dude, you're absolutely right! That's exactly how it is. My dad wanted me to suffer in this place so he could transfer me back and let me do whatever I was supposed to do!"
Thinking of her father made her feel exhausted!
Fu Yanlin said, "Uncle also wants you to understand that being a law enforcement officer is not an easy job. You are still young now, but you will know in a few years that going to find those answers is much harder than this, even to the point of forgetting to eat and sleep, and wishing you were dead!"
Zhou An'an slumped back in his chair, "My edges have been worn down to almost nothing now, so I guess I'll just have to live like this!"
Her expression made everyone laugh again. Happy times always seem so short; the noodle shop was about to close.
So they parted ways at the door.
Lu Zhixia said to Zhuang Ran, "I'll come see you again before I leave."
Zhuang Ran nodded repeatedly. She didn't have many friends in the big city. If she hadn't met Lu Zhixia, she didn't know what would have become of her. Thinking of this, she opened her arms and hugged her.
"Sister, you'll always be my sister, no matter what!"
"I know, I'll always be your sister!"
Fu Yanlin rubbed his nose, wondering when he would become someone this girl relied on so much. It seemed he still had a long way to go!
A car stopped in front of them, and Lu Zhixia and Zhou An'an got in and waved goodbye.
As the car drove further and further away, Zhuang Ranxin followed it.
