"Okay, I'll go check right away." The proprietress turned and swayed her hips as she left the private room.
We've landed a big order today! If we can entertain this table well, we'll make a fortune!
Mr. Shi generously said, "Although this is our first meeting, we hit it off immediately. Please feel free to order whatever you like, or if it's not enough!"
Brother Biao had his men open two bottles of beer, then gave him one, saying, "Let's chug it down! We're brothers now!"
Mr. Shi picked up the bottle. "I haven't done this in ages. Don't laugh at me if I don't finish it!"
Everyone burst into laughter upon hearing this, and then watched the two men drink, their manner so suggestive that no one wanted to comment.
Lu Zhixia was very glad that she had considered Brother Biao when she planned to sell fruit; otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to handle the situation. They needed someone with a strong sense of social skills.
The bottles hit the ground, and they all finished their drinks, their expressions suggesting they had known each other for a long time.
Mr. Shi touched his lips with his hand, "It's been so long since I've felt this good!"
Brother Biao picked up a piece of food, put it in his mouth, and chewed it; this would help him sober up.
"Me too, it's been so long since I've had this much to drink."
The two drank quite heartily afterwards, but neither got drunk.
The proprietress brought over the red wine, saying, "This is the most expensive bottle of wine in my cabinet; its name is Lafite!"
Mr. Shi snatched it away, "I'll drink it!"
Brother Biao asked the proprietress, "How much is this wine?"
The proprietress was surprised that they would ask, so she quickly smiled and said, "It's not expensive, only 1600 yuan!"
Mr. Shi's expression changed instantly. This woman was ruthless. He thought that opening a bottle of wine costing two or three hundred yuan would be enough.
This bottle of wine is worth two years' salary for an average worker!
But since he'd already taken it, it wouldn't be good not to open it; he couldn't afford to embarrass himself.
"Give us a cheaper one. Expensive wine doesn't necessarily mean it tastes good," Lu Zhixia said.
Mr. Shi said, “Comrade Lu is right. Expensive wines are not necessarily good. Just bring over the kind of red wine that I usually drink.”
The proprietress had no choice but to obediently take the wine away; she had originally wanted to get the best deal, but ended up not getting it.
When he returned, he had two bottles of red wine in his hand. "Buy one get one free today, you can have both of these."
Mr. Shi glanced at her. This woman was really bold. He usually led people to her place when entertaining guests, but she ended up causing this mess. It seems he should come here less often in the future.
Only one bottle of red wine was opened, and the proprietress poured a little for everyone.
"Please let me know if there's anything I haven't done well in our hospitality, and I'll do my best to accommodate everyone!"
This time, Mr. Shi didn't give the proprietress any face and simply refused to respond.
Lu Zhixia and Zhou An'an chose to eat the clear broth hot pot, since they both prefer spicy food, so they could enjoy it comfortably.
Fresh lamb only needs to be boiled in the hot pot for a minute or two, then taken out, dipped in sauce, and eaten for instant satisfaction.
The meal lasted for more than an hour before it ended. The men were a little drunk and they helped each other out.
The proprietress followed him out with the order slip and cautiously spoke to Mr. Shi.
"How do we settle this bill?"
He waved his hand, "Put it on my tab for now, I'll settle it next time I come back."
The proprietress's face instantly darkened. With so many people around, she couldn't stop them, so she could only plead softly.
"It's not really appropriate to just put such a large purchase on the balance!"
The man resorted to shameless tactics, saying, "I didn't bring that many with me today, so you can't have any even if you ask!"
The proprietress could only apologize again, "That bottle of wine was my fault, please don't hold it against me, I'll give you a 20% discount! You only need to give me 500 yuan out of the 650 yuan!"
The man snorted, then pulled out his wallet from his pocket. "Let me tell you, people value honesty. If you had been honest with me earlier, I wouldn't have made things difficult for you!"
He counted out 600 yuan and put it in her hand, saying, "Okay, I'm leaving."
The proprietress felt uneasy taking the money, but she could only swallow her anger and resentment, blaming herself for being dishonest and trying to rip people off.
They boarded the car one after another, with Lu Zhixia, Zhou An'an, and Zhou Cheng sitting together.
The car started up quickly; their car was the last one.
Zhou Cheng leaned back in his seat and muttered to them, "I really didn't expect them to be able to drink so much!"
Lu Zhixia asked, "Brother-in-law, does your head hurt?"
Zhou Cheng: "It's alright! I controlled my alcohol intake and ate more dishes. The meat at this restaurant is good; freshly slaughtered lamb is indeed delicious!"
The driver chimed in, "You know this private restaurant is famous, mainly because it's expensive. This Mr. Shi really wanted to treat you to a good meal, that's why he brought you here. Even we drivers each got a small lamb leg! I drank three bowls of soup alone, it was so delicious!"
Lu Zhixia: "The soup was indeed quite delicious."
The driver said, "This trip was worth it; we're getting paid for it too!" He couldn't help but laugh as he finished speaking.
Lu Zhixia felt that the driver talked too much, so there were some things she couldn't say.
The vehicle returned to the vicinity of the large truck. As I got off, a gust of wind instantly cooled me down.
Mr. Shi was helped out of the car, and then he mumbled to them, "I didn't enjoy the meal very much today. If we get together again next time, I'll definitely make sure you eat well."
Brother Biao said, "We're brothers now that we've had this meal, so don't say things like that."
The two big men chuckled.
Lu Zhixia realized that it was no wonder men were willing to drink; they'd become like brothers over time. She asked Zhou Cheng,
Where are you staying now?
"We haven't found a place to stay yet!" Zhou Cheng said. "We've been sleeping in the car because we're afraid of losing our things!"
