Lu Zhixia obediently let him hold her; when men act cute, it's irresistible.
"Okay, I'll let you hug me for a while."
"Wife, you're so good to me!" Gu Lingxiao said in a deep voice.
Lu Zhixia's face instantly flushed, and she pushed the person away.
Gu Lingxiao turned around, locked the door, and then took her hand and went downstairs with an air of dominance.
Lu Zhixia felt that since they got together, the man's personality had changed a lot, and his previous aloofness was gone.
Now when she acts cute, she's just as adorable as a big dog.
They quickly went downstairs and saw a man and a woman dressed simply, who looked to be around sixty or seventy years old.
Gu Lingxiao then let go of her hand and stood silently by her side.
Lu Zhixia walked over confidently and asked, "Excuse me, are you looking for me?"
The woman quickly went to greet him, looking him up and down.
"Are you the one who placed the ad in the newspaper?"
“Yes! That’s me!” Lu Zhixia took another step forward.
The old man grasped her hand, "You're Juanzi, what kind of relative are you!"
Lu Zhixia, "a relative I've never met."
The old man nodded knowingly. "No wonder. I came here after seeing the missing person notice. I know most of their situation. I've been their neighbor for many years."
Lu Zhixia: "Do you know where they are now?"
The old man said, "I know that after Juanzi died, they had no money left, so they found a large courtyard to live in. They have to raise those children. They can be said to be the kindest people in the world. They have no children of their own and have only taken care of the children they found on the roadside."

"Could you take me to see it?"

After Gu Lingxiao paid the fare, they got out of the car.
When Lu Zhixia saw the surrounding environment, her first impression was that it was desolate. To be honest, if Gu Lingxiao hadn't been standing next to her, she would have been scared.
This place is better visited during the day than at night.
The old man told them, "Just follow the path and walk for about five or six minutes until you see an old house. They live in that house."
Lu Zhixia asked, "Why would you live in such a remote place?"
The old man said, "They were a frugal couple their whole lives. All they needed was a place that wouldn't let in the wind or rain. They were truly kind people, and I admire them."
Lu Zhixia, "Do you know how many children they've adopted?"
The old man counted them in his mind and said, "It's either six or seven. They're all lovely children, very sensible. They'll definitely be successful when they grow up, but they won't live to see it—"

The old man quickly waved his hand, "I won't accept your payment. Just consider it as me doing something for Juanzi! We've been friends for decades. She had a hard life, finding such a good man back then. It's just fate playing tricks on people!"
After saying this, he left with his hands behind his back, and the old man beside him followed.
Watching them leave, I realized they were a loving elderly couple.
Gu Lingxiao grabbed her hand and said, "I'm here, don't be afraid. Let's go see what's going on!"
Lu Zhixia nodded. In the pitch black surroundings, he made her feel incredibly safe!
Then they walked along the path further in. It was a very remote place, and stray cats and dogs would occasionally dart out, but Gu Lingxiao scolded them all.
After walking for several minutes, I finally saw the courtyard. There were no lights, but there was a fire inside.
Gu Lingxiao said, "Although that old lady said they are the ones we are looking for, have you thought about what if they aren't?"
Lu Zhixia said, "Even if it's not true, I still want to help them. After listening to what the old lady said, I realized that I am far inferior to the elderly couple."
