After Lu Zhixia calmed down, Gu Lingxiao slowly released her.
"I deliberately told him the truth just now."
Lu Zhixia then remembered what he had just said, "You mean Lin Yueru isn't his biological child? Then whose child is she?"
Gu Lingxiao thought for a moment and figured it wouldn't hurt to say it, "Do you still remember that pocket watch?"
Lu Zhixia thought of the photos of a man and a woman inside; the man was clearly identifiable, but the woman's photo was a bit blurry.
"You mean the photos in there are of the two of them?"
Gu Lingxiao: "That's right, it's the two of them, but the photos are blurry because they're from a long time ago."
Lu Zhixia: "So that means they knew each other a long time ago, then what about that man?"
Gu Lingxiao, "He is a spy who returned from abroad, and he has been arrested with conclusive evidence."
Lu Zhixia exclaimed, "When did you find out?!"
Gu Lingxiao looked at her red eyes and felt a pang of heartache.
"When he was taking out his pocket watch, he accidentally dropped it on the ground. I saw the secret code inside the pocket watch, and that's when I started investigating him."
Lu Zhixia thought this was too mystical. "And then these secrets were discovered?"
Gu Lingxiao: "That's about right. Actually, I wasn't sure if Lin Yueru's two children were spies, so I just said it directly."
Lu Zhixia sniffed. "I feel much better now. I never thought something so dramatic would happen to me, like a person who thought they were dead suddenly appearing in front of me."
Gu Lingxiao, "What are you planning to do next?"
Lu Zhixia shook her head, "I don't know what to do either, I'm really confused right now."
Gu Lingxiao pulled the person close and comforted them by holding them against his body.
"It depends on whether you want to acknowledge it or not."
Lu Zhixia raised her head slightly and said, "Mm."

Lin Hongzhi arrived at the train station in a daze. All he wanted to know was the truth, so he didn't care about anything else, bought a ticket, and took the train home.
He wanted to ask Tong Shujia what exactly happened.
On the other end.
Tong Shujia was driven back to her residence. The detention and interrogation during this period made her feel that she had aged a lot.
Once she got to that place, she realized that the most important thing in life is freedom!
When I got home and looked at the photos hanging on the wall, I thought of my son.
I started to feel anxious again, not knowing where my child was.
The dust on the table made the house feel a little unfamiliar to her.
She was about to take a shower to get rid of bad luck when she looked in the mirror in the bathroom and realized that she had a lot of gray hairs on her head.
There were so many hairs on the edges of her forehead that she plucked a few before giving up.
There are so many that they are countless!
He came out of the bathroom dejectedly and saw Lin Hongzhi walk in, wearing work clothes and with red eyes.
Her hair was a little messy, and she looked like she had rushed back.
"What happened to you?" Tong Shujia asked, feigning composure. "How did you end up like this and come back?"
Lin Hongzhi strode over and grabbed her wrist.
"Are you telling me that the child your sister gave birth to back then really died?"
Looking into the man's bloodshot eyes, Tong Shujia felt a sudden pang of panic and could only force herself to remain calm as she spoke.
“He’s dead, really dead. He’s buried right next to my sister’s grave.”
Lin Hongzhi raised his hand and grabbed her neck, then violently threw her to the ground.
"Don't lie to me, I know everything. The child isn't dead at all, I saw him!"
"You saw her?" Tong Shujia thought to herself, "This is bad. How am I going to explain this?"
"Listen to me, what happened back then—"
"Tong Shujia! Why did you do this?" Lin Hongzhi walked over, squatted down, and grabbed the woman's hair.
"Your sister and I have been so good to you, why did you have to be so cruel!"
"Lin Hongzhi! Let go of my hand!" Tong Shujia shouted. "It's wrong of you to treat me like this!"
Lin Hongzhi felt like a joke. He grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the ground three times before stopping. When he lifted her up, her forehead was covered in blood.
"I'm asking you, how did your sister die back then!"
Tong Shujia's pupils dilated from the impact. She wondered how the man had become so clever. Her mouth trembled as she stammered, unsure how to explain.
Lin Hongzhi: "I'll speak for you. Your sister was killed because of you. Am I right?"
Tong Shujia realized the man had gone mad and quickly grabbed his arm.
"Let me explain, my sister really had a difficult childbirth back then—"
Lin Hongzhi interrupted, "If you don't tell the truth today, I'll kill you!"
Tong Shujia snorted coldly, "If you care so much, why did you go on a business trip for so long back then, giving me an opportunity to take advantage of you!"
It's one thing to speculate, but once it's confirmed, Lin Hongzhi raises his hand and slaps himself several times. This woman killed the person he loved, and yet he ended up marrying her. He was incredibly stupid.
"I trusted you so much!"
"So what if you believe me? I like you, don't you know that?" Tong Shujia slowly stood up from the ground, touching her forehead, which was covered in blood.
"Now that the person is already dead, why do you expect me to pay with my life?"
Lin Hongzhi immediately slumped down, realizing that he was mostly to blame for everything. Why didn't he go back then?
If I go back, will the person still be there?
Tong Shujia said loudly, "I bore your children and took care of this family. I deserve credit for everything. The child was born weak and then suddenly stopped breathing. I thought he was dead, so I threw him away. Now you're telling me he's alive?"
