"Did I just fall asleep again?" she mumbled sleepily.
“Yes, you slept for a while again.” Gu Lingxiao picked up a pillow to support her back, then got out of bed to get the kettle, poured a glass of warm water, and brought it to her lips.
Lu Zhixia took a sip of water and felt like she had come back to life, then an intense feeling of hunger washed over her.
"Is there anything to eat?"
"Yes, I just made another one." Gu Lingxiao turned around and went out, quickly bringing back the sponge cake.
Lu Zhixia ate the warm sponge cake and felt instantly satisfied.
"It's good to have something to eat when you're really hungry."
"I'll make you more if it's not enough," Gu Lingxiao said.
Lu Zhixia finished eating and didn't want to eat anymore, so she sat leaning against the pillow.
"I feel very energetic right now."
"What, want to go downstairs for a walk?"
Lu Zhixia: "That's not the case, it's not even dawn yet outside."
Gu Lingxiao: "Then what do you want to do?"
Lu Zhixia rested her head slightly on his shoulder.
"I just wanted to talk to you for a bit."

Lu Zhixia said, "Okay, if the two boys are like Grandpa said, then we'll name them those two names."
Gu Lingxiao lowered his head slightly and kissed his forehead.

“Being a mother is never easy. The most tiring time is after the baby is born!” Lu Zhixia touched her belly. “Right now is the most peaceful time.”

A month passed in the blink of an eye, and they successfully bought the house across the street.
Gu Dongsheng and Cai Wei arrived quickly and moved in; everything was going as planned.
Lu Zhixia started labor during breakfast; her stomach began to hurt, and she immediately grabbed Gu Lingxiao's hand.
"I'm about to give birth."
Upon hearing this, Gu Lingxiao immediately shouted towards the kitchen.
"Mom, Xiaxia is about to give birth."
Cai Wei immediately came out of the kitchen, "Does your stomach hurt? What kind of pain is it?"
Lu Zhixia said, "I feel like I can hold on for a while longer, but it's best to go to the hospital now."
Cai Wei immediately understood her daughter-in-law's meaning, went inside to get the box she had prepared in advance,
"Then let's go to the hospital now."
Lu Zhixia was helped downstairs, feeling waves of pain in her stomach. Fortunately, the hospital was right across the street.
Gu Lingxiao said, "I'll carry you to the hospital."
Lu Zhixia waved her hand, "It's good for the baby to be born if we walk around for a while now."
Seeing the sweat beading on her forehead, Gu Lingxiao worried that something might happen, so he immediately wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly.
"Listen to me."
Lu Zhixia was in so much pain that she opened her mouth but didn't refute it.
They arrived at the hospital quickly, and Lu Zhixia lay down on the ambulance.
After asking some questions, the doctor concluded, "Given the current situation, I think it's unlikely that you'll be able to give birth naturally; a cesarean section would be the better option."
Gu Lingxiao: "Is there any danger?"
The doctor said, "No matter how you give birth, there are risks involved."
Gu Lingxiao said, slightly agitated, "Then, if the situation becomes critical, save the adult!"
The doctor thought this man was a real hero. He vividly remembered how many families hesitated when told there was danger, all in an effort to save their children.
They showed no regard for the mother's life, while the man in front of them had a look on his face that practically screamed worry.
"Don't worry, the situation is relatively optimistic. Both the adults and the children will be fine. We'll proceed with the surgery first. You family members can wait outside."
Cai Wei: "Okay, doctor, I'm leaving everything to you."
After the doctors went inside, Gu Lingxiao stood against the wall, reached into his pocket, took out a cigarette case, and started smoking.
Seeing his son's expression, Gu Dongsheng knew he was anxious. At this point, comforting words wouldn't be of much use, so he could only pat him on the shoulder to encourage him.
They waited outside the operating room, praying silently.
Finally, the door opened, and the doctor nodded, indicating that everything was alright.
The nurse then brought the baby out.
"Both family members are twin boys; the one on the left is the elder, and the one on the right is the younger."
Cai Wei quickly took out the prepared red string and put it on the eldest child's wrist so they could be distinguished. Looking at the two children's adorable faces, she was overjoyed.
It's as if I'm seeing my own child being born back then.
